Certificate of Residence
Yes he can get the Proof of Residence but the DLT (at Phuket at least) will not register a car or bike in your name if you don't have a long term visa. this is from personal and other experiences.

Transferring ownership motorcycle.... different provinces
My experience is that the seller never needs a PoR, only the buyer needs one.

Certificate of Residence
There is no 90 day tourist visa, As he is British I suspect that he arrives on a visa exempt which is good for 60 days. (which can be extended by 30 days) So far i know you can't register a bike in your name when you don't have a proper long term visa. A friend of mine couldn't register his new car in his name as he has a DTV visa which is regarded a tourist visa. So i would check this out before buying a bike.

Buying a helmet and waterproof jacket/gloves. Any cheaper than UK?
If you have the option i would buy it in the UK for sure. I bought 2 months agao my Schuberth C5 helmet in the UK for less then half of the price then in Thailand, if you can buy it in the first place.

ZONTES 350
I looked at the Zontes but decided to buy the Honda Forza 350 instead. The Zontes spec looks nice but I’m too afraid how it will hold up after a year or 2. The Honda Forza has a very good track record with service centres at almost every little town and if something happens it can be repaired easily at every street shop. The Zontes services is a big headache and i don't know how the spare parts availability situation is.

Possible moving from Phuket to Hua Hin.
In general we love Phuket where I life for over 37 years but our rental contract is coming up for renewal and affordable decent houses (no condominiums) are very hard to find in case we can’t renew the contract. We heard from others that Hua Hin could be a nice alternative specially I have to be in Bangkok on a regular basis for work. Therefore, I’m trying to get as much information as possible.

Possible moving from Phuket to Hua Hin.
Hi all Hua Hin experts, For sure this is asked many time but i can't really find up to date information. As Phuket is getting crowded and living standards going down we are thinking about moving to Hua Hin sometime end of the year. We will go to Hua Hin for a holiday off-course to have a feel for it and to look around. But i would like to get as much as possible information beforehand. About us, We are a European couple (Dutch, German and around 60 year old) and are living in Phuket for a long time. (37 years for me) Very mobile (Have a car and both drive scooters) and are in good health. we are looking for a bungalow type of house with swimming poll if possible for long term rent. (preferable 3 year terms or longer) with a budget of around 20.000 - 25.000 Baht but this is not fixed. As we are very active in the (expat) community it would be nice to life somewhere were there are more foreigners and possible not to far away from the beach or other places like shops and restaurants. Hopefully there are some expats living in Hua Hin who are willing to come in contact with us so i can ask them question when i have them and for advice if required. 🙂 Thanks very much.

Taking power banks on domestic flighs.
Maybe somebody nows the answer. 🙂 I'm traveling from Bangkok to phuket with AirAsia. I have 2 Anker power banks off 99.8 Wh (27.650 mAh) with me. Acording to airaisa this is ok as they are below 100 Wh. (they and other airlines only use 100 Wh as a limit without airline approval) But on the Suvarnabhumi airport website it is mentioned that they only alow power banks below 100 Mh OR 20.000 mAh. (they think that 100 Wh is equeal to 20.000 mAh) Does anybody know if they allow power banks below 100 Wh which is alos allowed by the airline ?

Alert! Bangkok Bank new rule money seasoning
It's in no immigration order as it is not a immigration requirement. Looks like that it's a local bank branch regulation which isn't official.

Remove Car logo bades - phuket
Very easy to do it yourself, I did it with my car decals. Use a hair föhn to warm up the adhesive of the badge and use a plastic prying tool to remove the decal carefully. Just be careful that you don't heat up the decal to much as this could damage the paint.

Expiring temporary licence and certificate of residence not possible
Depends on the DLT office, Some will accept and some not. That you can speak doesn't matter.

TM30 Online - Registering a property - how long to approve
That's strange as i setup multiple TM30 online accounts with multiple houses in one account. The new accounts and property registrations where always approved within seconds, so this was approved automaticly. Looks likke that the system was hanging in your case. Did you try to create a new account via a different email address to see if that works ?

Will Immigration take my bottle of duty-free away?
I know from personally experience that it is not a issue at Suvarnabhumi to travel with duty free on a domestic flight. As long the duty free is in the temper save duty free bag with the receipt visible you can take it in your handluggage. I travel like this as least 5 time a year (AMS-BKK-HKT on seperate tickets) without any issue.

Cancelling work permit late
No, The immigration and labor office database aren't linked and you have to do the WP cancallation seperate. Correct, as he still receives money from the company it is regarded work and needs a valid WP. The employer or the employee shoud go to the labor office to cancel the WP.

Opening bank account with DTV (share your stories)
MOst banks will refuse indeed to open a bank account (same as for the 5 year DL) on a DTV visa as it is regarded a tourist visa. That is the whole point, the DTV visa is clasified as a tourist visa and therefore many banks will refuse to open a bank account (as according to them) you need a long term visa. This is the same for the 5 year DL which in most cases will be refused for the same reason. The banking rules became much more strict a while ago.

I don't have a big issue with doing this online TM6 form when it is inplemented but i'm only afraid of the processing time as i have to travel sometimes at a very short notice (within 24 hours) and this could be a big issue for some.

Online TM6 form for visitors to Thailand coming on May 1
Airlines require to provide this information to the goverment in most countries, so this could also be the issue for thailand. It was mentioned that it will be applicable for all foreigners entering Thailand. No, All forerigners require to do it as ,mentioned in the press release.

Transfer of ownership problem
It is not possible to transfer the scooter in your name without the current owner ID / housebook copies and signed transfer form. If a agent says that they can do they do it it's in illigal way and possible not a real transfer.
