The biggest problem is nobody wants to go with the flow. They all want to go at their own speed anywhere from 30 kmh to 130 kmh. So you are always having to pass somebody or have someone on your tail waiting for a chance to pass you. So driving here is not a relaxing experience you are always breaking or accelerating watching all three mirrors all the time.
It's the 'Me First' syndrome.

Sound pollutions drive people crazy... Even in a shopping mall there is no background music but it seems you are in a pub.. Complaining doesn't help as they have no clues..but it is proven that soft played background music will improve the sales and loud music will chase customers away... but alas who am I?
My family took me to a very nice beachside restaurant last night. I watched the sun going down to the throb of incessant techno rock music. It sounded like the thump, thump ,usually emitted by pickups. The steak knife in my hand seemed to have an almost uncontrollable urge to attack the person in charge of the music.

We have a 4 way stop near our townhouse here in Muang Thong Thani, and multiple 2 way Stop signs, nobody stops for the Stop Signs, NOBODY! They could write a thousand tickets an hour here, but they don't, that's with a huge police facility here right across from Impact Arena. No patrols, and whenever I do see the police, you guessed it, they blow right through the stop signs and crosswalks too. The Thai brain is wired for law-breaking, they just don't care about safety, even their own. I have lost count at how many times drivers have tried to run my daughter and I over in crosswalks near her school. I hate this country and it's people with a passion, mainly because of the "Culture" that everyone else can't wait to come see and enjoy.
Now now, mother. Settle down and take your medicine

If she and the cook are trapped inside the sunken vessel let's hope that their removal will be more successful than the navy's attempt to recover those trapped in their ship that capsized due to rough seas.

Age-old question.
Do you have a clue?
What are we living for, anyway?
Are you able to put it into words?
What are we living for....
That is the question.
Regards,...
To be, or not to be? That is the question.

If you don't work in Thailand you don't paid. Several years ago a worker at one of Thailand's biggest companies tried to organise a union and was murdered.
If you don't work you don't get paid applies to most countries methinks. Regarding forming unions, I think this also applies to many countries.

Passive resistance - as in withdrawing labour? If they do that they don't get paid. Otherwise, passive resistance in what form, I wonder? I'm curious, because you might be on to something, Long shot, but......
As for 'not your country' - you've been here longer than about half the Thai population. And I've been here getting on for 30. A pity we still don't have a voice, isn't it. Not that would count anyway, same as the locals.
They don't get paid when they go out on the streets protesting and get put down and arrested by the army. What could the authorities do if transport, factory and government office workers downed tools? Just surmising.

3 hours ago, Bangkok Barry said:They don't have a choice, do they. Do you have a solution? There have been plenty of uprisings and street protests and road closures and riots and burning down of shopping malls. and it achieved what, exactly? Usually a military coup. Rinse and repeat, throughout recent (the last 80-90 years) Thai history.
It's not my country. But after nearly forty years here, with Thai child relations growing up with me, I think I have a right to an opinion and to comment for what it's worth. Do I have a solution? No. but national passive resistance to bring the country to a standstill might force the large monopolies to instruct their puppets in the government to pull out and let the party they voted for take over. Pie in the sky? I expect so.

Did a dentist tell you to pull that tooth? If yes, did you get a second opinion?
I have saved two molars so far by going to a better dentist, after being recommended to pull the tooth with no other options! They were not low end facilities.
All the teeth needed was root canal work, the other an involved re-doing of an old root canal.
Without saving those teeth I would be now be missing primary molars on both lower sides, and needing implants or bridges on both sides.
Just a heads up to get a second opinion if you ever get told to get an extraction.
At 90 is it worth it?

In an army ruled autocracy, they ignore the election results, cast aside a young, capable reformer like Pita, and install an incompetent puppet like Sretta. They way of the Thai army is to pick a bottom of the barrel man like Prayuth, or Sretta.
It has to be an unreliable poll, if Sretta got 22%. Why would he get that high a number? Familiarity? What has he done for the Thai people lately, besides making alot of declarations?
Some imaginary people seem to like him, bless his cotton socks.
