  1. Typical Thailand. Rather than issue the arrest warrant immediately, they tell him to come in to acknowledge the charges against him. Basically telling him here is his chance to flee the country before he has to face these charges. They use the excuse of his position to give him this opportunity to run rather than them going to his house and making sure he is brought to the station to be arrested. This is the same tactic they have used many times for people with money or power who broke the law and there was enough evidence to convict them yet, they still have not learned from all those that have fled Thailand prior to their arrest or while on bail.
  2. If this was done by a foreigner. The netizens would be outraged. The police would be seeking to arrest him and the immigration would deport him. Justifiably of course because this is a horrid oct to do in public. But given it was a Thai old man, The netizens are amused instead of outraged.
  3. Hehe.. the last time i was in Pattaya. I walked past the police station on beach road. There were 4 policemen taking selfies and group photos. And right to their left and right were hoards or beach sex workers waiting for a foreigner to make them an offer for short time fun. The police, oblivious to so many women standing around on the sidewalk even though they did it directly across the street from the station and right to the side of those taking photos. Of course, those women are not really waiting for foreigners to offer them money for a short time in their hotel room bed. They spend their free time from real jobs standing there playing their phone all evening until the bars close and some even later than that. Perhaps they do it because it is cooler than their small flats.
  4. He is their fearless leader. Hence everything he does benefits Thailand. Even if it is only a holiday. He shows his fearlessness as a worldwide traveller. Sending the work his image so they know Thailand is so good. If I was the leader, I would travel as much as possible also. Especially if the country is paying for it and of course, I would take time out while travelling to meet with people in high positions. I sure would not be going to meet the poor or my countrymen that are abroad. So it all benefits the country. He may get lucky and some high-so in another country will offer him a sweet deal to bring their business to this country. How many other leaders of nations do what Thai leaders do? Going personally to do what others have been given a position to do or to speak in their behalf.
  5. This swiss man is really on their shi-- list. He is going to lose everything and possibly get prison time in the process. I believe Thais call it Karma haha.. Too many foreigners like this one think they are better than everyone else. Even better than other foreigners. Those are the ones that need to get a reality check and be shown we are all the same and should treat others with kindness and respect. Especially the foreigner.
  6. read the whole OP from the source. The fact that it hits worldwide news if enough to show the seriousness of it. Then there is this clip below to show the picture getting bigger. Phuket administration has also agreed to set up a center to deal with illegal alien businesses. This is a result of many complaints by Thai business operators who claim that many foreigners have set up businesses using their Thai spouses or other Thai nationals as nominees. There are more than 200 companies with foreigners holding a 49% stake operating in Phuket.
  7. No mate! This was about using a thai to show 51% ownership with a foreigner owning 49% so he can buy something that would not normally be sold to him legally outright.
  8. Agreed... only one so far showing their desire to watch such a video. However, it is still early in the morning. Give the pervs time to wake up ok.. They were up late last night watching these types of vids online.
  9. I knew it would not be long before they found some other way to show their ranking as the worst was wrong. They must have ordered a thorough search online to find a report to contradict that other report saying their airport was the worst. Even though this rating was made about high dollar travellers instead of an average person travelling.
  10. Makes sense. Dealers would normally carry more than 5 pills. Users though would only carry what they will use and should not be dealt the same punishment as a dealer.
  11. Is this the Aprils Fools joke given in advance? What fresh is there in Thailand currently?
  12. What is with all these reports about illegal workers yet not a single report about the people that hired them illegally? From my understanding these workers only face deportation. The most sever punishment is supposed to be given to the employers of them with huge fines and revocations of their businesses.
  13. The chances they will find a feasible place to race on there are slim at best. 99% of the roads here are so bad that they would need to repave the whole stretch. A costly venture for the government if they can find a company that does a decent job doing that can make a racetrack that does not become damaged before any race would occur. This OP sounds like a free trip to the people in that industry rather than a serious consideration to put Thailand on their list of places to actually race.
  14. This guy had 19 dogs.. As a Thai he allowed them to become soi dogs to run wild in a pack I would bet. My guess is someone got tired of being harassed by them and decided to solve the problem their own way. Too many times I have seen these types of dogs chasing people and cars and bikes down the street. Although I sympathize with the mans plight finding the killer who poisoned them, I would bet there is more in this story not being said about how the man really took care of those dogs.
  15. Perhaps he got a new speech writer. God knows he needed one. I do not believe for a second that any speech given that was written by another person can be justifiably said made a person show strength.
  16. Mostly as i have witnessed the truck drivers toss stuff out of their windows while driving. However, I have seen many Thais do this as well. Even so much as to look like they were emptying a trash bin on the grass on the roadside. I am not sure if the trash collection department will pick up trash in this fashion. However, I do know that there are some government offices that take time out of their office cleaning trash on the roadsides voluntarily or as a team building experience hmm?
  17. As far as i know... and i remember reading it many years ago. As a foreigner you are not permitted to have a gun in your presence, household, or on your person. i may be wrong. Foreign Ownership: Non-Thai citizens are not permitted to own firearms in Thailand, emphasizing local control over firearm possession. https://www.siam-legal.com/thailand-law/are-guns-legal-in-thailand/ Found this when searching online. Clearly it says you can not have access to control a firearm. Meaning it can not be in your household giving you control over it.
  18. My comment did not place blame on the monkeys.
  19. The other guys rant about all those good things Biden did for the country. do not outweigh all the bad things he did. Also, he seemed to have forgotten that Biden took over when the employment level was receding which continued to recede after Biden took over. So Biden can not take all the credit for that.
  20. Come on. How you can be smart enough to invest yet stupid enough not to think that paying someone to use their name to do something you are not permitted to do yourself, would not be considered illegal?
  21. If the proxy used was fake or there is discrepancy with the way the ownership was gotten. Of course it can be seized.
  22. That job description was given by your employer when applying for the work permit.
  23. You really do not know anything and make ridiculous comment regarding this OP. This is Lopburi where for as many years as I know in Thailand (+12) they have deliberately allowed the monkey population to grow simply for tourism. They fed them hordes of food and permitted them to freely go through the city. When covid hit and money was dried up the food they gave them was scarce especially when the monkey population had increased so much. The monkeys did the next logical think to spread out even more across the city in search of food. This has nothing to do with your comment. In the past year or 2 the city has been trying different approaches to reduce their population without success. Now the locals are getting their things stolen by them as well as tourists. The temple that hoarded them and made it a shrine for them also is suffering. The woman should sue the city for the attacks. The city should have had the monkeys relocated to the island they have reserved for this. But the monkeys were a tourist draw. SO nothing every was really done to stop their growth and brazen behavior.
  24. My gut on this says she was doing a job that was not authorized by the work permit. Making what she was doing illegal. Work permits are given out for one job description only. Anything more than that is considered working illegally. Especially if it is a job set out to be given to a Thai
  25. Agreed about the deportation. Too risky for anyone with this tempermental jerk. But first he needs to see the inside of a Thai prison first hand. Even if he pays his way to do a Thaksin with his sentence. He should have fled Thailand while he had a chance.
