  1. I would think its hard in Thailand to get all the ducks in a row, only to find some have moved in the mean time, I hope it works out for them it must be hard to try and get all the red tape sorted in Thailand, bureaucracy must be a nightmare.
  2. what would/could the police do about it, he needs to come up with a solution to receive the money
  3. have you looked into renting flat out, no need to inform Uk govenment of anything.
  4. For over 50's a non-immigrant 'O'A' is available from Thai embassy in own country. This gives a one year permission to stay stamp on each entry into Thailand, if you entry just before the expiry date of the visa a fresh 1 year stamp will be given,( insurance required for this 2nd year) allowing 2 years stay in Thailand with the non 'O'A'. 90 day reports will be required. Don’t forget that once your non immigrant 'O'A' visa expires you will need a re-entry permit for any trips out of the country during this 2nd year, to keep your permission to stay stamp alive. a yearly extension (1,900thb) can be obtained within Thailand, but insurance will be required as will financial requirements within Thailand as mentioned in previous posts.

  9. have you obtained a 60 day visit Thai wife extension since your last entry, other than a re-entry permit entry, if not you could get one to give you time to sort out your application, and avoid an overstay. if you are going the agent route shop around in Pattaya as prices differ, is your marriage cert from overseas, if so it has to be registered at local amphur, its a complicated process. marriage extension once all the requirements are met is straight forward, only differnces to retirement extension is - photo's, kor ror 2 or 22, some extra wife's forms, and the 30 days under consideration period

  12. if you want your name in a blue book for a car registered in Bangkok, that name change has to be done in Bangkok, it can not be done in another province, you can re-tax it in another province though, using the blue book or a copy of said book To change the name of a car registered in say Bangkok, in another province say Prachuap Khiri Khan, then you need to change the number to a local number, at the office in that province that does number changes, all DLT's in a province do not do number changes, ie pattaya DLT does not do number changes, it has to be done in Chon Buri DLT
