  1. have to use some of the credit every 6 months or you lose it all
  2. i came down the stairs one morning and saw a large flash like a car windscreen reflecting off the sun, went to BH Rayong and was told all ok come back in a week, before the week was up i completely lost sight in one eye, just seeing black, went back to BH Rayong and was told detached retina, i lost confidence in that hospital and on the advice of my stepson went to Rama hospital where a DR was aware i was on my way and she waited, she did the op the following day at EENT hospital, done mess with your eyes it's frightening to lose sight in one eye, i have full vision now
  3. soi3eddie, sounds about right to me one of the wife's family did his while here on a short trip, blue house book, Thai id at local amphur, then passport at the passport office, had a birth certificate from the UK London Embassy. there was a thread on here a little while ago about some taking up Thai nationality after arriving on another passport, and immigration cancelling the entry stamp, as now being Thai. I think it was one of the regular posters, i will see if i can find it,
  4. I think it can cause problems with the seasoning of the money during the year, ie 800,000thb for 3 months after and 400,000thb for the remainder of the year.
  5. back in 2011 i had a detached retina, and bangkok hospital rayong wanted 160,000thb for the op to be done at BH Pattaya, which was to take place 4 days later, my stepson arranged for a doctor at rama hospital Bangkok to see me so a drive to bangkok was required, this doctor said she could do the op the next day at EENT https://eent.co.th/ hospital Bangkok, a laser was used to repair the tear and the eye was filled with gas, so as Transam posted above 2 weeks of laying face down, the gas eventually turns into eye fluid, total cost yes i know it was in 2011 was 80,000thb as apposed to BH Rayong price of 160,000thb picked up by travel insurance from the UK, operation carried while awake and aware of what was going on, 12 years on eye is still good, i highly recommend her https://www.bumrungrad.com/en/doctors/Somsiri-Sukavatcharin, i know the op was looking at the N East area , posted for information of the op.
  6. and of course everything printed in the sun is the truth and the whole truth, i double check the date printed at the top
  7. just like your advice, another friendly poster on AN, why post it when it is wrong
  8. with all these international laws, there is no need for the MP's to make laws then. there are very few genuine asylum seeks entering the UK via France, and if they are then they should apply in Europe before reaching the UK, in my view they need locking in detention camps and their asylum claims dealt with there and then sending back where they came from, the French are taking the p**s,
  9. never heard of an extension being stapled in the passport, stamped in is the norm, also no mention of a tm30
  10. some nice Thai restaurants in Ban Chang/Phala area, Phala beach is good, Lotus's needs a refresh, but some good well priced local Thai shops are available in Phala, a couple of shops to get expat foods, fresh produce is in several locations, Robinsons mall is a new addition, nearest Makro is in Sattahip as well as a large big C with food outlets, Suk can be avoided, as you get closer to Rayong they are in the process of upgrading it to a wider concrete road, Sattahip to beyond Ban chang with some new overpasses is completed
  11. live tv is harder to find, with quite a bit of buffering and of course due to the time difference its not so convenient. use a torrent site to find the links such as YTS; 1337x; RARBG; The Pirate Bay (TPB); EZTV; TorrentGalaxy and then use a program to download to your computer, such as uTorrent, BitTorrent; Bitport; qBittorrent; Vuze; BitComet; Transmission
  12. you need an Android box or a fire stick, but not plug and play will need some apps adding and setting up, will also need updating periodically. get the best box you can afford, do some you tube research.
  13. once the forms (CNI )are obtained from your embassy, they together with a translation of both your passports need to be taken to the MFA ministry of foreign affairs in Bangkok, where they are stamped and certified, make several copies of everything, the local Amphur will take possession of the the CNI so make sure you have copies, the amphur can provide the witnesses, choose an amphur that is familiar with foreign residents. best of luck, an agent in Bangkok may make the process of MFA involvement easier.
  14. no it doesn't, we have a Bangkok registered car with an address in Rayong, bought new from Bangkok, we also have a Bangkok registered motorcycle, with an address in Rayong we also have a car registered in Chon buri with an address in Rayong, recently our address changed from chon buri to Rayong, wife changed the address in the Pattaya DLT
  15. so not a shared path and a one way street, i think shw will win the appeal
  16. the article does not say its a shared path, in fact it posted ''The trial was told that police could not "categorically" state whether the pavement was a shared cycleway.'' and '' Cambridgeshire County Council subsequently reiterated that and said it would review the location, but in his sentencing remarks Judge Sean Enright said it was a shared cycleway.'' so the judge stated it was a shared path, but against what the police and the council have stated, that must be grounds for an appeal, either the council have made it a shared path or not, signs etc should show one way or another.
  17. I am with you on that, he and the women he left his wife for, are not well liked by lots of the country, save the tax payers money, save the monarchy and abdicate to a foreign land ( a bit like his uncle did) and let William reignite the love for the monarchy that his grandmother enjoyed
  18. so your thinking that over 18years, the car will pay for it self in saved petrol. so the running costs will be wear and tear on tyres and parts, not sure about the money saved to be used buying a new car at 18 years in the future prices, but i get your point, what sort of mileage do you expect to drive in those 18 years to save the 1million? 20,000km per year
  19. no i am not saying that and my post doesn't imply that, the gym is open to all and when you took on the condo, you were fully aware of the associated costs of the gym and all the communal areas, not someone plugging in a privately owned electric draining device for personal use ( phones and tablets are a minimum drain) if the scooters were communal that would a different matter, when would personal devices become over the top, EV motor-cycles, or EV cars, etc. i refer back to my post on extensions leads to run kitchen appliances would that be taking the p**s or would that be acceptable to you, at some point the people will be seen as taking the p**s, given an inch they will want a mile. it will never affect me, but why should others pay for other peoples EV's to be charged
