$1.4 million only the tip of the iceberg. Full expenditure accounts of the secret service at Trump’s organization properties have yet to be handed over to the oversight committee. Chairwoman Maloney has given the agency director up to 31 Oct to comply with the committee request for full disclosure. https://oversight.house.gov/news/press-releases/chairwoman-maloney-releases-new-information-showing-trump-owned-properties

Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
Eric Loh replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
15,000 - 20,000 Rusia troops are stationed to the northwest of the river. A swift and successful Ukrainian offensive would enable them to encircle & isolate the Russians. This will render significant portion of the Russian military in the region ünviable". Putin will react with force that worries Ukraine for the sudden meeting with US. If Kherson falls together with large number of Russian POW, it will be humilitating for Putin and will anger the Russian public. Putin will react with unbridle military might. Ukraine has to be ready. -
House January 6 committee votes to subpoena Trump during Thursday’s hearing

Not much logic in your allegation. My take is that Trump did his bidding for Putin by subverting NATO by crippling NATO from within and planned to shatter it in his second term. Putin has a ambition to roll back the Soviet Union. Taking back Ukraine was part of that ambition but rolling back all the advances by NATO will be his biggest ambition. And he got that wish in the form of Trump. How he wish that Trump will take the second term and fulfilled his mission but here comes Biden to thwart his diabolical plan and unite NATO and the world against Putin. Is there something in his tax return to show that he is beholden to Putin? Come on, reveal your tax return. -

Came at a surprise to see that the Law and Order party don't seem to care about Jan 6; contrasting with the Dem's Jan 6 top concern of the erosion of democratic values and principles. Perhaps the GOP now has no democratic values and has not much principles... -
Circumstances have changed much this time around that may perhaps influence the need for future coups. In the past. mayhem on the streets resulted in public outrage at the government's failure to contain the chaos help invite military intervention without much resistance. When politics polarized and got bogged down, many viewed coups can bring solutions. The call for coups came from the right wing yellow shirts who were themselves involved in instigating the chaos. After 2 coups with no improvement in the political and economic conditions, the right wings are frustrated and may not support future coups. There is also a significant change in the militay units that were in the heart of Bangkok. These units have been the vanguard of most recent coups. They now have been re-deployed outside Bangkok. They will not have an easy passage into Bangkok. These units are now under direct royal command; not military command. Lastly the current army chief Gen. Narongphan is a royalist and has not shown any political ambition. He preferred a quiety and background role.

Truth Social active users in Sptember is a paltry 2 million. Granted that they are new but still a herculean task to compete with the current social networks not withstanding their financial, legal and technical woes. Their active users numbers are way too small to be even included in the ranking. They unlikely to survive; that's for sure. https://www.statista.com/statistics/272014/global-social-networks-ranked-by-number-of-users/

Beside asking troops to protect the demonstrators #placeholder, Trump didn’t give any formal order to Christopher Miller for security deployment. It was in the contingency planning but no forward formal communication or anything in that nature. https://www.thedailybeast.com/trump-never-ordered-national-guard-troops-to-protect-capitol-on-jan-6-ex-defense-secretary-chris-miller-says -

Ukraine war: Putin says no more massive strikes - for now
Eric Loh replied to webfact's topic in World News
Putin trying hard to spin. Fact is that he has used up to 70% of missiles in his arsenal and most failed to hit the targets or intercepted. No strategic targets were hit. Created some potholes on roads and destroyed residential buildings & nothing of strategic military significant. Russia military incompetence in full display. Myth of the mighty red army is just a myth. Russia will not stand a chance in a war with the NATO forces with their modern and high precision military hardwares https://www.ukrinform.net/rubric-ato/3466423-russia-has-used-up-about-70-of-its-highprecision-missiles-since-warstart-bellingcat.html -

Let's not forget Trump's bumbling buffoons gave the FBI reasons for suspicions. Campaign manager Paul Manafort was notoriously tied to the Kremlin and passed information to a suspected Russian agent; member of Trump family met with the Russians at Trump Tower in an attempt to get "dirt"on Hillary; one low-level aide boasted to an Australian diplomat that Russia was aiding the Trump campaign; and the longtime Trump associate Roger Stone seems to have helped broker a leak of Clinton campaign emails hacked by Russians. -

Maybe you are right and he will make an appearance for the Jan 6 committee and plead the Fifth. I think the right side of the law has wind behind their sails with staggering record of Trump's criminal and financial indictable crimes. The country can't reward those who plotted against the constitution and the voters. -
What happened in China was that the country stood up against the expansionist member of the Axis unprovoked invasion of a sovereign country. It is about defending your country with pride and not allowed an imperalistic country to dictate their will on China even it meant deaths and destruction. Like what happening in Ukraine and that's a sane and patriotic stance.
