  1. Thai immigration will tell you of the consequences of you crossing the border , yet they will not stop you . Been there and done that
  2. You will be refused entry at Mai Sai if you have had two land border entries this year . The immigration officers will inform you on the way out if you will meet problems coming back which gives you a chance to make alternative choices . From the information you have given your best way out is to apply for a two month tourist visa at the Thai Consulate in Vientiani . You will need financial proof of funds .
  3. The Thai expert appears as credible as a Thai autopsy
  4. When children are involved there needs to be contracts to secure there welfare . When there are no children I see no need for contracts . Basic civil arrangement to split up any assets that they have accumulated together . Assets made before the relationship should remain in there ownership.
  5. Maybe you could be adopted by the family and try living on 600 baht plus handouts .
  6. It has for the 600 baht a month pensionists
  7. The Future Forward Party were removed hastily after the last election with 80 seats which was a big surprise to all . The Move Forward Party will receive the same treatment as I think they will do much better than 100 seats . It is going to be interesting thats for sure
  8. I think the go fund me situation that we see today is a modern form of insurance without having to pay premiums . If the majority of foreigners contributed when there are people in need there would be less need for very expensive insurance premiums . I would make a demand that the person in need must use a government hospital as the private hospitals are overcharging to put it politly .
  9. Degrees show that you finnish what you started and companies know that they have to train you what ever degree you obtained .
  10. I and others are not complaining about consumption . It is the price per kilowat hour that the complaints are coming from . I am currently paying with taxes 5.55 baht which is a substatial increase considering the gas price has reduced considerably . I mention gas as that is how Thailand produces electricity
  11. A number of motorcycles is hardly adding up to an amount of money to bother taking legal action . The shop they operate from is most probably rented and often the motorcycles would be owned by a finance company. A civil action would be decided by a judge , not the police . In my area when the COVID restrictions were keeping the tourists away the motorcycle hire businesses were hardly doing any business . Thais would not keep the shops busy if there business vanished because tourists were made to have a motorcycle license . I was told by a Chinese tourist before COVID that he was forced to pay extra from a rental business because he had no license . How common that practice is I have no idea . Dodgy business in my opinion.
  12. living in a dream world if you think the sole person responsible is the person renting . Problem arises if the owner has no assets .
  13. If you own a motorcycle and lone it to someone that you have full knowledge that they have no license and worse still not any experience riding a motorcycle you could be liable for prosecution and paying compensation. That is the same for a company hiring out a motorcycle.
  14. Thank you , it will be ok next time round . I should of organised the driving test for the next day . Two lots of questions and motorbike test was more than enough for one day . Yes we all know how they are on the roads . The only reason that would drive me from the country to be honest .
  15. Have you been for a thai driving license test ? I passed my driving test on my 17th birthday in 1970 . Driven all over Europe , USA and Australia with out too many problems . But not good enough for Thailand Cant help bad luck
  16. That was very apparent at the driving test yesterday
  17. I went for a beer after my failure with foreigner that failed as well . He failed as he went through the first manouvre two times instead of once . Crazy
  18. If you say so, oh , by the way , the high way code in Thailand demands you turn the engine off when refueling
