when I went to singapore, I couldnt believe it when the entrance fee to the casino was $100 or $150 SGD for locals and Free for foreigners
somehow, even if the casino was $100 entry fee for tourists, and free for locals, vs thai two tiered pricing, when a thai does it, its just simply greed and opportunitism

They will if they are a meal substitute. You are automatically cutting calories, fat and carbs when you drink a good protein shake with skim milk or light soy milk.
True,
I was referring to those that eat 3 bigmacs for lunch, and have a protein shake thinking it cuts the calories

Yes.
Same as the vitamin and herbal supplements industries.
Completely worthless for normal people.
You'd be amazed at the difference 1 hour of exercise every day can make to your body.
Most people are just too lazy, and looking for a quick fix though.
And don't forget the people (understandly) who think protein shakes will make you lose weight

You are judging him physically only! Just because he looks like a man doesn't mean he is one! One of my favorite lines I use whenever I get a chance to provide some of my so call wisdom to Thais?
One thing I'm going through today with my son and his Thai wife. Just because you can have a baby doesn't mean when it happens you get a birth certificate for the baby and then some GOD gives you an internal wisdom to know exactly how to raise them and you have all the answer.
Science tell you a human brain doesn't fully develop until you are in your mid twenties to make decision from my experience learning is a lifetime experience thinking you know everything is to know nothing in life I know a few close friends who today act like they are kids still making terrible decision. Based on post the profile is he is around 28-32 years of age and the answer he is looking for tells me he " looks physically like a man but hasn't developed mentally as a person " Just my two cents.???? It is never too late to do the right thing?
My personal opinion is that especially in financial behaviour, its pretty hard to change ones mindest/behaviour, especially the older you get
I have always been conservative in my spending habits since a young age, so credit card has never been a problem except once when a business went broke,
however as I got older and even today, my conservative spending habits are hard to change
credit cards can be useful, convenient and even profitable tools
but if you have no/little financial control or discipline, it can be a huge trap

Sorry, I decided a month ago I would post less but after reading your post it kind of burns me up and I'm trying real hard not to pass judgement.
This is what I'm trying to teach my Thai son and his wife " take responsibility for your action " just because you haven't in the pass been a <deleted> you are clearly being one now! How do you even come up with " defaulting on 3 due Covid and other reasons because of the way the individuals banks have treated you or OTHERS FOREIGNERS "
This is the type of stuff I heard from deadbeat Thais and it seems some of it might have rubbed off on you. Everyone comes here for a reason basically to each their own but you borrow and lived beyond your means for whatever reason and whatever country you come from surely you wouldn't even be consider any of this nonsense because you credit would be ruined for life and a lean would be attached to you no matter where you work in the future.
I suggest you grow up and take responsibility instead of trying to burn someone using excuses to get from under your debt you created now you want help as you noted you got your answer on page 1 or 2 and topic is closed. Personally based on your intend I hope they arrest and depot your <deleted>!
a bit late now to be growing up, dont you think

I love it how they have to keep on mentioning what sort of car was used,
they make it sound as the thought the BMW SMART CAR got a mind of its own and decided to chase down overstaying foreigners

Let the justice system take care that is far better, than populist questions that could provoke revenge in some people
this is a forum, one of the points of a forum is to express your opinion,
the fact is this guy killed someone, as for motivations, its unclear at this point,
those that have an opinion, should be expressing it here, if they want to

In the West they are called "Models". In Thailand they are called "Pretties" (mainly because most of them are very pretty).
Guy sees a gorgeous woman at a ritzy party and approaches her.
Guys says to the woman "Would you sleep with me for $100,000 ?"
Woman says "For sure, let's go."
Guy says "Just a second, will you sleep with me for $100 ?"
Woman gets angry and retorts "Not a chance in hell ! What kind of woman do you think I am ?"
The guys smiles and says "We've already established that. Now we are just negotiating price."
its both funny and scary how some women , can say this sort of stuff with a straight face without any hesitation

Yes - because not all are! There is a wide area known as "pretties". A very big difference between the private party scene and the brand ambassadors types. I know one brand ambassador who has a contract with a prominent Japanese vehicle manufacturer. They put shows on at Motor shows, here and abroad sometimes. They earn a very good salary (circa 50k ThB a month) and attend publicity events as well as shows. Their code of behavior, appearance and dress code are strictly regulated. The lady I know is in her final year at university and comes from a good and well connected family who make sure no one takes advantage. They must look right, be able to dance and learn the show numbers and talk intelligently to customers when required. There is a lot of competition for these ambassador roles and the parents have often started their children young in fashion shows, at dancing, modelling , acting, music lessons etc. There are a lot of "Super Star Academies and tutors about for this and they ain't cheap. Many also, and not always wisely, make their children have plastic surgery - nose, eyes, chins etc. And of course plenty of whitening cream, diets and exercise. It's a big industry!
Going downwards, you see more tarty type pretties at exhibitions and stands for much smaller companies. Now some of these may be looking to boost their earnings, but many may not.
Finally you have the private parties, mainly Thai. Serving at a party involving men, alcohol, etc, where the intention is to party and the risks for the girls increase whether they want to boost their earnings or not. Dangerous business.
As with many things around the world, someones financial status and the need to earn is often the big moderator. But don't make the assumption that all are the same. They are most certainly not.
the realty is , which ever level you are at or aiming for,
all you have to be is not unattractive and not 300 pounds, and you can get an income higher than a college degree respectful,
yes, you should know how to dance, and be cheerful and able to have a conversation
but at the end of the day, its not that hard to do,
so yeah with the payoff there is risk, and looks will fade,
doesnt matter which country you are in

Soi 11
in Bangkok
Posted
I have been going to soi 11 yearly for about 8 years now.
And it has/had its charm,
The overhanging power lines, the unkept side walks, the farang targeted bars, the stalls , the kombivan bars,
And yes daytime is pretty dead , but night time is when the action is.
I havent been for about 18 months , however last time I went things were already changing
Some of the foot paths had started being repaired, all the kombivan bars had gone, there were a fewer newer and trendier bars and American style take aways
The huge abandoned hotel on the right (can't remeber its name) had started work on.
But what surprised me was that entire cheap Charlie section had been demolised and the hole left (I presume for development) was absolutely enormous, I didn't even know the street went that deep
I admit it has a lost a bit of its dirty charm but I also noticed decreased numbers of tourists,
So who knows what will.become of soi 11 and its surrounds even if covid had not come
