Weird statement, do you feel all white folk are one people? Can't say I pay much attention to what other people are doing, no matter what their racial background.

UK faces biggest fall in living standards on record
BritManToo replied to Scott's topic in World News
"Paul Johnson, director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies think tank, said: "Surging global energy prices have made the UK a poorer country." The biggest downturn I can see coming (for all the west) are the potential grid failures this winter. Too many fossil fuel power stations being turned off! And the 'surging global energy prices' are as the story suggested ........ global! "Energy and food bills have shot up due to the war in Ukraine and pandemic, and are squeezing household budgets." This is an EU wide problem, not just the UK. "This is likely to be a relatively shallow recession for the economy as a whole - but for households, it will mean the wipeout of gains in living standards, a return to 2014." Some of the statements are just odd, IMHO living standards in the UK have been dropping since the year 2000, I certainly wouldn't have picked 2014 as the pinnacle of UK living standards. While the rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer. What the world needs is a major redistribution of wealth, not another 'austerity' programme for the poor. -

You've misunderstood Darwin. It's the most suitable for the current situation that survive which is entirely different to 'the best'. Currently in the west, it'll be those with the highest reproduction rates that will inherit those countries. -
Why is the UK struggling more than other countries?

I'd like them to name the countries with 6% lower inflation than the UK. It ain't Europe, the claim 8%+ inflation. It ain't Oz, they've got 10% inflation, same as UK. -

I agree, eloop are the best.

I hardly ever bother with air-con, fans are good enough mostly to keep the mozzies off as the windows and doors are open 24/7.

6 months to a year. Wipe the eggs with an oiled rag before storage to keep them at their best.

But I get a discount of 0.92bht/unit as a low consumer (under 150 units). If it goes up next year I'll buy another panel or two, and start winding the meter back again.

I agree, primary teaching has much less problems. I used to teach the final year classes in primary occasionally, although I dreaded finger painting. Although I would hesitate to describe a primary school teacher as an educator. -

I was a high school teacher in the UK (council estate schools). All that was ever required of me was to keep them seated and in the classroom. -

Garden Village Guesthouse and pool bar was always my 1st choice. Nice swimming pool, beer served 24/7 at 50c/glass. Close to everything, $10-$15/night. -
My answer was to the OP ........... plants outside, not plants under forced lighting. I've also found random lights at night (street lights, moon, etc) don't stop or inhibit flowering once it's started.
