Phuket Assault: Outrage Over Release of Suspect After Two Days
BritManToo replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Interesting, When I was attacked in CM, the public prosecutor brought charges against my attacker for causing serious bodily harm. I was just a witness to the crime, nobody ever asked me if I wished to press charges.- 21 replies

Why Trump hates the EU, especially Germany
BritManToo replied to bannork's topic in Political Soapbox
I also hate the EU and especially Germany ........ Don't mention the war! -
Well my life changed after the first 2 years when I no longer needed a short time every night, and sometimes in the afternoon.

I installed inverter/battery because I got tired of the power going out all the time. The electricity it produces is free as a bonus. I guess if you consider the panels as an extra expense on top of the full house ups, they paid for themselves a year back.

Solar panel package suggestion.
BritManToo replied to kwak250's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
My 580w panels provide 2 units a day each. 2000 units a day would be a medium factory! -

15kwhr lifepo4 battery is 45kbht assembled or 30kbht if you bolt it together yourself. I'm buying 580w split mono bifacial ntype from Lazada at 2kbht each delivered (one just arrived 5 mins back). 18 would cost 36kbht but they're massive, where would you put that many? I think that's too many as 5 fill my 5kwhr battery before 1pm. 10kw off-grid inverter around 20kbht. 580w is the big one on the left Mounting you can buy some stainless steel box for almost nothing, along with a drill, circular cutter and arc welding kit, less than 4kbht for all the bits. Around 105kbht all in and a bit of sweat! -
That's odd mine is 869 pounds every 4 weeks 12,000 a year.

Pork joint about 80bht which will last 3-4 meals. Potatoes free from a neighbour (6-10kg) been eating them the past 4 weeks. Tea is around 2bht/day for as much as I can drink (Tata gold 500gm 170bht lasts 4 months) Electricity free, I have solar panels. Walk, have a swim or cycle around, cook your own food from basics, download your books, movies, music, games and you'll spend a fraction of your pension.

Don't know about JT but ...... I went out cycling this morning for an hour (22km). Then came home and played Civilization VI until lunchtime. Watched that new movie starring Milla Jokavich. Cooked roast pork and baked potato with gravy for lunch. Nearly 3pm now, and almost no money spent!

It used to be a good pension, but the AUD has crashed by 20-25% in the past year or 2 (28bht to 22bht). In that same time period the GBP sunk from 50 to 44bht (12%) No idea why the AUD is doing so much worse than the GBP?

UK state pension near enough £1k/month = 44kbht at the moment. I spend about 25kbht on me, and another 35kbht on the wife and kid. Living here would be cheap as chips without any baggage!

In the UK they still had rationing until 1954, so not that great a time for most. And I remember a lot of boredom, no tv until 6pm, books expensive, movies expensive. Music you had to buy until around 1995 Sex very restricted when I was in the west, essentially guys over 40 didn't get any, even from their wife. Sex available whenever I wanted from 2009+. English food also easily available from 2015+ Since about 2015, all movies, books, games, music free and I have the time to indulge. Now is the best of times IMHO. Can't say I really care about the billions of other people, my life is all about me ....... me, me, me, me, me! Sure if I were young now, and living in the UK, I probably wouldn't be all that hopeful ....... Zero hour work, no pensions, no chance of buying your own home, no chance of the traditional family life. White men aren't doing that well (but we're a minority now), but if you were to ask all the non-white immigrants their lives are probably great beyond the wildest expectations of their parents still living in their dry, famine ridden, war torn poop hole countries. The Russian and Chinese populations have never had it so good throughout any time in their history. Back to the OP, do I care if all those rich, greedy, money grubbing leeches start jumping from windows ......... not in the slightest.

Didn't think that much of the 50s and 60s TBH. 70s, 80s and 90 I was working so didn't really notice the world passing by. Best is the 10s and 20s, no money worries, retired and now living in the sun. What was the OP again, oh yeah Wall Street .......... always though the stock market was a scam for the rich to take money from the gullible.

I could do without the raging winds though!

How about a solar car port on a budget?
BritManToo replied to Crossy's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
Old one was on it's last legs, new aircon 10kbht fitted. Aircon power now free now as I paid 2kbht for a 1kw GTI, and another 2Kbht for a 580W n-type mono split, bifacial panel to wind my meter back (around 2 units a day). -
Coolant all over the car engine bay.
