  1. Tap water also safe to drink in Chiang Mai Previously lived in Camelford where tap water definitely wasn't safe to drink 20 years after a small mistake. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-cornwall-17367243 Water pressure definitely iffy, but as my water bill is only 120bht/month, I can live with that. Septic tank works perfectly, haven't emptied it since I moved in 12 years back. Mate, you're having a laff!
  2. Agree, but doubt I could rent a caravan for less than 800 pounds/month. And my Thai 3 bed home in a similar location costs 220 pounds/month on a 90% mortgage.
  3. Gotta say, if I were a Brit plasterer, I probably wouldn't think of a 3,000GBP trip to Dubai as that desirable a holiday. Wonder what the attraction was for him?
  4. Interesting his wife is named "R. Sol". Can I smoke cannabis while visiting the resort?
  5. bang on the top and bottom of the safe while pulling the door open often works.
  6. I've never felt the urge to be more moral than the MPs running my country. Back to the OP, Last person on this forum returning to the UK posted that he was living rough and it wasn't too bad. Maybe you'll be lucky.
  7. Yeah but today, they want to force another 40 vaccinations on you while you're still a child. 26 of those before you're 1 year old! I was 7 when I had my first 2 vaccinations. My last childhood vaccination age 12, the entire class lined up in a corridor at school, and a nurse walks along, jabbing us all in turn, same needle, wiped with cotton wool between arms. After that incident (so traumatic I remember it clearly 58 years later), I just refused all vaccination. And no liability on their part for any resulting injury ......... Sounds like child abuse to me.
  8. I survived tetanus, whooping cough and polio vaccines when I was a kid. Can't say that is many. I survived Yellow fever as an adult (cos they wouldn't let me in Africa without it) I survived COVID x2 as an adult (cos they threatened me about travel again)
  9. They know better than to interfere. Unlike the foolish white men.
  10. If you're that easily upset, best to avoid bars Full of dirty hookers, aggressive drunks and smelly smokers ....... Surprised you didn't leave wearing a free beer!
  11. Almost anything which isn't an opioid can be purchased over the counter in Thailand. If you can pronounce the name of the drug, they will sell it to you. Great when you want antibiotics!
  12. Trans lives in Issan ........ why would he travel to Chiang Mai?
  13. Ironheart from Disney, teen black girl returns from Wakanda to invent an Iron Man style robot suit. Complete Inspector Morse available (30GB) Murder in a Small Ton complete season available ........ might be OK, set in a small US coastal tourist town.
  14. It wasn't that memorable, apart from only 3 women guests, and maybe another 3 serving ladies ....... all men. Surprising as it was in Loi Kro road (Red Lion), surrounded by bars full of hookers. I was quickly lured away to bars with less old white men and more young Thai women.
  15. I thought government were in recess until 3rd July ..... so how can they be passing laws? First event after recess is a vote of no confidence put forward by BJT.
  16. Central Thai Vs Laos/Issan/Lanna Vs Khmer. Less than 40% of the Thai population speak Central Thai as a first language.
  17. Should have spent more time on your English!
  18. I was there, complete cockfest, three 'readers wifes' that appeared to have been sourced from a bar. Dullest event ever.
  19. It's sort of odd, as the government doesn't appear to be currently sitting. So they're currently issuing laws without the backing of parliament. And when they do return on 3rd July, they are facing a no confidence vote called by BJT. Anyways, my supplier has hired a doctor, prescription included with every order, no extra charge. I think they were doing the same in the USA, buy in the shop, video call with doctor (in India) on shop tablet, prescription issued with no extra charge, all done while you wait.
  20. I think you'll find there is no homeless problem in China. Poor and homeless are two different problems, the second entirely created by government policy.
  21. If they welcome diversity, why are they all Jewish? How about having a few Muslims/Christians/Atheists on the council?
