Places to EAT around Chiang Mai - reviews and discussion
BritManToo replied to Trujillo's topic in Chiang Mai
Avoid the Canadian bacon (aka gammon), dry as dirt. American breakfast with bacon is good but expensive, 290bht but includes 1 coffee mug refill. Clam chowder in bread bowl for the adventurous 180bht. Went there when Auf De Au was closed, German buffet for 260bht, well worth the cost, includes coffee. Thick sliced ham, meatballs, fried fish and assorted breads all good. -

I always found cocoa powder worked well, banana and cocoa smoothie every morning. This was when I was a bit ill a few years back, don't need it now. Not expensive, https://www.lazada.co.th/shop/ccspecialist -

Depends what you're buying! How much would a 75" TV have cost in1924? Or movies or a music collection in your home? And why worry about the money value, isn't the real value in the number of hours you need to work in order to buy something? If you're considering the working hours required, most of us are billionaires compared to people living 100 years ago.

Thai man survives attempted murder orchestrated by ex-girlfriend
BritManToo replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I've had two, I ran and hid from both! Then I found one so violent, she scared the first two off after beating one of them unconscious. Happily married to number three for 15 years. -
The wife wants another baby. I don't think its a good idea.
BritManToo replied to ubonr1971's topic in Marriage and Divorce
At 38, I doubt she can get pregnant, why not just agree and let nature take it's course. I've had 5 kids, 4 with Brit wife and 1 with Thai wife (our ages 54+34), but wouldn't have minded more. Mind you, I'd probably dump mine if she didn't want to hand over our stuff to our kid. -
I'm happy at home with my wife and son, so you won't find me in a bar for afternoons. I do go into town one evening a week for a meal with a pal, and a couple of beers but that's about it. Up at dawn everyday to cycle 25km (twice a week with friends), but I don't go out much these days. Not sure about "eating dinner at work", I've been retired the past 25 years. I guess you just mix with the wrong class of people.

Trump ahead in all battleground states - ALL OF THEM!
BritManToo replied to theblether's topic in Political Soapbox
Google says ........ "The Nazi Party was founded as the German Workers’ Party by Anton Drexler, a Munich locksmith, in 1919." Wiki says ....... "Drexler did not serve in the armed forces during World War I because he was deemed physically unfit for service." Quite frankly I don't see any connection between Trump and Hitler. (Not that I would vote for Trump or Harris) -

BritManToo replied to theblether's topic in Political Soapbox
So you say, but NAZI is an abbreviation of National Socialist Party, which was a party funded by Union members. So it makes me a little confused, not to mention many of the Socialist countries seem to be ruled by Dictators. -
And if the USA was that great a place to live everyone wouldn't be taking drugs. Let's face it, the poor in any country don't have that great a life. But it's too wet and cold in the UK for me to go cycling every day, so I'm here, and it's great.

The worst part of this will be the next four years after Trump wins, and those supporting Harris can't let it go.
