Go in as a tourist and have an agent convert to a business one year visa. Don't have to report your residence, no 90 day reports. Can have a business, buy property (I think). Cars expensive in Thailand; 2-3 times as much in Cambodia.
They have retirement VISAs now, 1 year multi entry for $280-$300 from an agent (inc agent fee).
If your agent is still talking business VISA, find someone else.

No regrets at all. In fact feel sorry for those in relationships here and not able to live the dream. Topic heading should be changed to :
Do you regret being stuck with the same woman when living in Pussy Paradise?
Why do you think we're stuck with only the one?
Thailand, land of fooling around.

In the last year, the KHR is 25%, the VND is 20%, the PHP is 14% and the USD is 27% up over the GBP.
Over the last year, highest USD 1.32 lowest 1.25, change = -6%, but currently a 5% drop over the past year.
(6 months ago they were on a par 0% difference)
From XE.com
Where did you get 27%

Baht is 27% stronger than the pound, 33% stronger than the OZ/NZ/Can dollar.
Cambodia/Vietnam/Philippines are about the same exchange rate they've always been.
If Heineken raised their prices 25%, and the other beers didn't, would you still buy it?
When is enough enough?

They were friendly and not threatening.
You call some stranger who searches your home 'not threatening'?
I find the entire concept threatening.

Dude, they're all Indians.

Agree and now we know about this antibiotic we should refuse to take it as there are others that will do the same job.
I had no adverse reactions at all to a month of Vocin 500 (levofloxacin).
Back to walking 7Km-10Km/day.

Had my son when I was 55, no screaming at midnight, maybe 5 or 6 'screamings' in his life.
He's 8 now, overuses the word 'dad' a bit when he's home from school (dad I'm hungry, dad I want Papsi, dad look at this, etc.), but apart from that no complaints so far.

There is no such guarantee, women change their minds, all the time, for the most trivial of reasons.

Yes it is red and sore if you touch it.
What type of drugs should be used for this type of problem.
Wikkipedia says Amistroxicilin for cellulitis.
Amoxicillin works fine, unless you leave it too long.
The longer you prevaricate, the worse the infection becomes, and the harder it is to cure.
The 21hrs you have just waited is significant.

On the MRT a few months back the lady at the ticket counter asked if I was a 'senior', I said I was and she gave me a half price ticket for 21bht.
I'm OK with saving 21bht, people who throw money away are fools IMHO.

There is no such requirement, try another immigration officer.
Or hire an agent to get your extension (which is why they refused you in the first place).

They're nationalist not 'racist'.
They treat people from neighbouring countries who are of the same race as themselves the same as they do us. Using the R word indiscriminately and incorrectly has long made it lose it's real meaning.
If they don't speak, the Thais don't know.
Us white guys are easy marks. -

Unpleasant people deserve unpleasant experiences, if they were just trying to do their job they should have sold him the discount ticket. These people were racist scum, it's not as if the discount comes out of their own pockets.

Hookers are the only reason for 99% of Brit tourists coming to Thailand.

Removing Prayut alone is not the answer - and certainly not that way. There are, unfortunately, lots of other dinosaurs who would simply step into his shoes, with relish. Only the Thai people can decide what the way forward is - or to go on being yanked back centuries into a feudalist past. It is up to them. Not easy for them (I sympathise hugely) - as all democratic means have effectively been stolen from them (the recent 'election' and its 'result' were the most shocking and heart-breaking example of that) ...
Peaceful methods never change anything.
Long term political change only every comes about from extreme acts of violence.
The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Have a friend who met a girl 2 years ago. He fell in love. Just finished building a house up north and buying a 5 million baht home here in hua hin. Ink Just heard today he had a slip and fall accident in the bath room and bled out. I not take my chances.
At least he wasn't lonely.

I'm quite sure most Thais realize "how" and "why" Prayut formed the government this way.
But they also realize that there is little that they can do about it.

I think her fluency in Thai and English along with her ability to haggle are more important in this situation.
She got the price down from 200,000bht (Suan Doc foreigner price) to 30,000bht (local hospital public ward) and then got his m/c (government minimum) insurance company agree to pay direct after getting a police report on the accident (no other vehicle involved).

Most white men I meet in Thailand are the perfect social match for uneducated farm girls.
Me included.
