Definately had that vibe in small town Isaan. This town isn't to small and probably 5k including the surrounding villages. They were all in on they deadly virus suppression. Facilities were popping up all through the jungle to house the infected. Thousands of beds - 555. What a waste of resources that could have been spent suppressing the spread where it was happening. In densely populated areas. Out of the previous mentioned 5,000 people in the area, not one death that I know of and I asked around. My brother in law is the village head and he knows other village heads. They would know but the answer was always nobody has died of Covid. There was one if you include an obese drunk in one of the villages that did have Covid and died but he had almost died a dozen times before Covid.

Time will tell if the vaccination or die crowd lets society and "science" revisit all the mistakes that were made and there were many. At this point, as shown on this thread, they would rather move on and insult others that would rather look into what might be avoided next go around. They never cared about the truth which to this day baffles me. Unlike yourself, I think they had some logic that backed their believes but their disgusting assault on any dissent was deplorable. Looking back, I feel some empathy for many of them for some reason. They were weak and scared individuals that found strength in numbers and as a group lost their way. These feeble tyrants were probably timid in offline interactions pre Covid but what they became was borderline evil.

I simply want to be able to make my own choice in the future about vaccination. There is a place for forced vaccination in EXTREME situations such as the virus like the Bubonic Plague but Covid -555. I haven't seen any real evidence IMO that the vaccinated are ticking time bombs but my thrice ( it might have been two or possibly 4. I just did it so I could do what I wanted and no other reason) pricked arm might impact my stance 🙂

Enjoy your posts in regards to vaccination. Might disagree with some of what you state but you are capable of seeing the other sides perspective which a group of vaccination advocates here on AN during 2020-2023 were incapable. Honestly, I have never experienced such vitriol from any group in my life that compared to the vaccination crowd here on AN. They were IMO weak individuals that used ( many unknowingly ) social group dynamics to became strong in their demented minds. As a group they were able to diminish any discussion that was contrary to what the group deemed acceptable. Wish more of them possessed your character.

I never got Covid before the jab but I was not around people other than my wife. We got Covid soon after I started mixing with people in May of 2022 and my second jab. Went out for New Years last night and most the people in the restaurant were pathetically unhealthy. It was just an observation but definitely don't feel they should be forced to be healthy. Their choice but the government forcing me to get vaccinated because of them was frustrating. Then on top of it the AN vaccine tyrants ignoring the science and telling me health wasn't an issue. Next virus that impacts certain segments of society recommendations: Focus on those segments! If 99% of the efforts put into stopping the spread would have been on city dwellers that are unhealthy the virus IMO would have been much more manageable for all of society. Funny how some now want to move past Covid and not look at what went wrong. I wonder why 🙂

I despised being forced to get vaccinated if I wanted to partake in certain important activities I do often. I had my doubts about what the media was selling but in the end I think the vaccines were beneficial. To what extent, I have no clue. The wife and I both got Covid soon after our second shot. We are both slim and extremely healthy but that was a rough week! I never felt I was going to die but it made me realize how important health was and how little the media was promoting health as a cure. Getting a nasty case of Covid and being extremely unhealthy like many would be frightening. Covid preyed on the weak and on this forum you couldn’t even discuss this “fact”. Weird times.

Watch: Graphic Inmate's Fatal Beating by NY Officers Sparks Outrage

I still think the very frustated officer was cleaning his face and I watched the video frame by frame. Between 6-10 seconds is where the office after being bitten( opionion) lost his temper. Being bitten by a man is something that would cause many men to lose it but this was over the top from what I can grasp in this short video. He didn't deserve to die reardless and that is sad. -

The world isn't fare and sometimes terrible things happen. Innocent people die and always will. In your immagined world , do police officers always behave appropriately and never participate in terrible deeds like the rest of society. Do you acually walk the same streets I do and not see reality. We are dressed up apelike beings and as the officer in the video shows, are only one bite away from becoming extremely aggressive. Common sense and maybe go a step further and do statistical analysys before flaunting your riteousness. -

Yep - and you have little regard for ideas that don't fit into what your team supports. How did that "can" or "must" option playout durning Covid. -
I find it always hot in the south with rare exceptions. Isaan is just a little hotter and probably cooler than inner city Chiang Mai(lived 6 years). I'm on a three day camping trip the last 3 days in N Isaan and it is 18c in the mornngs.

Tax on the poor?: What's the cause of USA inflation?
atpeace replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Keep it simple. How much mony has the world added to the money supply since Covid. I bet the inflation matches relatively close as percentage. Handout aren't free 🙂 -
I live on the thai/lao border in Isaan and it is often cooler than Chiang Mai. THis year has been by far the hottest here. The prior 4 years were cold from October to mid March in the mornings. Think it hit nearly 40c in mid March this year. Have a nice jungle view so thinking if it is hot this coming year, just going to close off more of the patio with glass and pretend it is cold with the AC. Have extra solar so it's free.

Nothing really here to make any judgements. Was the inmate defending himself or did he instigate the confrontation. WTF knows... I think the violence was too much but I wasn't there and must be hard to apply the exact type of violence that is appropriate. Lesson - don't go to prison and if you do don't fight with officers. Looks like the officer cleaning the prisoners face was bitten and the officer reacted poorly. Not sure... -
No don't listen to Berry but been listening to many others over the years. I knew my sugar intake was most likely causing at least some of the inflammation but it was very hard for me to move past the addiction. I seemed to reach a point where I wasn't exercising enough to eliminate the sugars and over time of exercising less than prior years the inflammation worsened.

Impressive! Did you keep the weight off. Most don't but have a feeling you did. I eat a ton of carbs and stay very fit. I get what your saying though and carbs are terrible if not needed. I decided about 3 months ago to adjust my carb intake. I was starting get persistent joint pain and thought the type of carbs I was consuming( sugar cereals and other crap) was the issue. Now eat more fruit and healthy carbs and the joint pains have disappeared.

Agreed but BMI is a good measurement to measure a population. I'm at about 6% bodyfat and nearly overweight using BMI. If a person wants to be healthy simply take control of their health and stop relying on doctors, fad diets... Being healthy, minus the rare exceptions, isn't complicated.
-
^^^ this is why people are fat. They like the process of getting fat and have a great dislike for the pain and persistence losing it entails. So they just gradually get fatter. To each his own and if someone doesn't value fitness or see any real value, up to them. Many of my friend seem to not care much. I wonder if the unhealthy often reflect on what it would be like to be healthy and come to the conclusion being unhealthy is a net positive.

Combination of obese and overweight is 48%. Think that is what he is stating. Sounds about right.

Locking people down for two years has consequences. In 2019 the parks around here were full with kids playing futbol but today most are empty. As for the gyms, they really don't help much but are better than nothing. I love gyms but realize that working out in the end might allow me to eat an extra cookie or two. Just look at the other people at the gym and it is obvious it isn't making them any more healthy. It is 90% diet for most unless they are truly putting in 5+ hours of cardio a week. It is simple math. Running a kilometer burns about an extra 55 calories vs sitting on your butt. Run 70k a week and you might be able to burn enough to eat an extra big meal or two at KFC a week. People simply have to eat less. People 100 years ago ate appropriately and obesity was almost non-existent.

Then you know what to do. Are you asking if you need to change? This post caught my attention because of an email similar to yours from an old flame that to be honest I still think about on occasion. She was incredibly sexy but meeting up with her will never happen. I'm with a great gal and the urge will never get past the fantasy stage.

You don't respect your wife and she irritates you. In your situation, I would go have a fling. What is the downside? I seriously doubt it is an ethical issue. How many times have you slept around the last couple years?
