  1. I bought during covid in 2020 to travel with in my camper and it is no longer available on Lazada. Assume the Chinese company went bankrupt. I would buy a treadmill that doesn't incline. Put bricks or anything that will put it an incline. The incline motors are another headache so this eliminates the incline motor ( still will have a belt motor). I have bought my last 2 treadmills on Lazada and only bought models with at least a couple hundred reviews. Ignore the 5 star reviews and read the rest. My current treadmill (10k baht) looks good and has been great. I wanted a treadmill that could be operated by bluetooth because usually the electronic speed and incline buttons malfunction before the motors. With bluetooth you don't need buttons. This treadmill also is no longer available on Lazada. The buttons stopped working a year ago but the bluetooth functionality has been great. If you keep it around 10% and you are under 100 kilo, a 1.5 continues horse power motor should be sufficient. Here is a treadmill that looks identical to the treadmill that was in the camper. Go with the highest HP motor which is 4 hp but probably 1.5 continues HP. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/keep-going-max-20-i261666379-s20868920165.html? It is tiny but another advantage of using it at steep inclines is your stride is short and no need for a long belt. Make sure you buy belt lube and put in under the belt monthly.
  2. I'm an avid treadmill user and have been since 2008. Walking pads are great but eventually you might want to increase effort and hard to do with a walking pad. Problem though is that home treadmills/walking pads are not durable unless you spend 100k+. You might get lucky but I've burned through them until I changed to only incline usage which uses very little power and impact forces. At 10% inclines even a cheap(6k baht) treadmills I bought to put in a camper and used 10+ hours a week lasted 3+ years and would have lasted longer if I didn't leave outside on occasion where it got rained on. It literally used less than 10 watts of power at 15% inclines because the user and gravity is producing most of the belt rotating power needs.
  3. I voted for Hillary over Trump but that is when I had respect for the democratic party. What strike me is odd is how democrats are still focussing on Trump's character flaws and rarely listen to what people like myself are telling them. For example, I am perfectly capable of making a decision of what content I should consume and make judgements on that content. I with many other Americans, value the freedom of personal choice. The Democrat party has become a party with a major superiority complex.
  4. Why stop working if you are satisfied with life? Eventually you will have to I assume but do it until you can't or retirement seems to be the best alternative. I retired in Thailand at 42 and have lived a good life the last 15 years but seen many struggle. I found a wonderful town with no Chinese tourists, great restaurants and beautiful scenery. No issues with Chinese other than the sheer number of them. They have destroyed many wonderful retirement options.
  5. Thanks and I forgot about the old people homes and all the deaths. I seriously doubt the intent was to pretend and then send them to their deaths. In hindsight a bad decision.
  6. Think your memory is challenged. The burning seasons were worse most years in the 1990's. I remember not being able to see high rises a block away in Chiang Mai in 1999 I think. The population was about the same and the temp hasn't changed in the last 50 years. Google might help 🙂 Agree with the rest of your post. I also miss those days and have great memories.
  7. I get that but you didn't answer my question. You stated they focused on the high risk groups but I don't think that happened at all. They thought herd immunity was the best alternative. Also curious, would you have prefered they didn't flip flop?
  8. I thought they were proponents of the herd immunity strategy that didn't work IMO. The post you replied to was stated that we should have focussed at those at risk and not locked down th young or healthy. Far from the same strategy the Jonson and Hancock did. Yes?
  9. A person that can maintain his character without the need to be supported by a group. An independent thinker that doesn't chronically label others. Throw in empathy and authenticity and that man would be a good man to have as a friend.
  10. Empathy? Not a characteristic that you possess in abundance 🙂 You do seem authentic which is commendable but hard to verify online.
  11. Thanks for confirming what I stated 🙂 Keep raging on and insulting all that think differently than yourself.
  12. Those were strange times and the weak controlled AN. They just used the herd mentality to drown you out and of course report you in mass to administrators here. The strategy worked but was ethically disgusting behaviour. I actually agree with many of the herds pro vaccine beliefs but they became so obnoxious that I had a hard time consuming their message regardless if it was valid or not. I don't like Trump but would even vote for someone I like less than him if it meant having more free speech and choice. This herd mentality we experienced a few years back was evil and when the group becomes one cohesive mob the empowerment they gained was sickening. I can only hope those days are gone ...
  13. 3 hour round trip and more like two hours at a minimum at the office. Sure you can get lucky but this has been the norm. Extremely efficient and would rate the experience high. If I had the choice to doing it from home on my PC while relaxing in luxury, well the decision would be easy. No biggy either way...
  14. Read a page or two of Xylophones content on his content page. He is full of anger and has a major superiority complex. Fun to disagree with him and watch him lose his shhtt. He starts every debate with some variation how stupid you are and then endless use of labels. He has put so many people on his ignore list, as he bragged, to create a fantasy world where he is the genius among fools.
  15. Have had some friends that get the same reaction. Almost like a superpower 🙂 Your avatar hints at traveling often as I do or at least you to do. I can organize my life where I'm at in a small tourist town that caters to Thais and rarely see a farang with my very limited Thai. When I go on a road trip is where speaking more Thai would definitely improve upon experiences with the locals.
  16. You think they should be penalised? I agree with much of what proponents of vaccines state on this forum. I could never imagine reporting a post because I disagree with the opinion. My post was referring to the impolite habit of the poster I questioned. For years he has copy and pasted endless articles one after another. It makes the threads almost impossible to navigate. You scroll through his endless pasting of articles with a satisfaction of reaching the end only to have him post an even even longer pasting of articles or in most cases many articles in the next post. He seems like an OK guy but he should stop this behavior.
  17. That is kind of where I'm at. It works and is easy but at times I wish I could have a conversation with Thais and find it mildly uncomfortable at Thai only events. Been here a long time and some Thais I'm sure wonder why I don't speak more Thai. Hell, some come out and ask me directly. They want to talk but after 5 minutes of stumbling conversation I'm looking for a means to escape gracefully:)
  18. I'm not anti vaccine or antibiotics. Think there is sufficient evidence that many have benefited society. What I abhor are people disregarding opinions because the person is not an expert. This is a herd mentality that the weak seem to adhere to and use to defend their positions. Pathetic IMO...
  19. Just perused the link. Amazed you found that simple. I do think that learning how to read and write might be a better option while at the same time learning how to speak. A couple friends have done this and had success.
  20. I'm a loner and have my hobbies that keep me engaged with life. If I felt semi fluency could be obtained by sacrificing 5-10 hours a week I would do it but have made the effort a few times over the last 20 years with little success. My hearing has never been great and for some reason can't pick up the tones nor the correct pronunciation even disregarding the tones. I know enough to get by but definitely would not be able to even have a rudimentary conversation. How did those that are semi fluent pickup the tones?
  21. No, he is just following what has worked for republican and democratic administrations since the 2008 financial crisis. It will probably work again. Powel doesn't want to play along like he has done in the past and that is upsetting Trump. Flood the system with liquidity so home values and stocks go up. At some point it will end terribly but I've been saying this since 2012 so even I'm starting think maybe it is as easy as throwing money from helicopters and spend baby spend.
  22. OK, IMO he got hammered but feel free to think whatever you want. I really could care less 🙂
  23. Not dishonest just made a mistake. Meant to say both Murray and the other military experts were torn apart in the comments. You are behaving childish and this seems to be a no discussion for you other than your what you agree with. As I stated in my earlier post, I may be wrong but rage on if that floats your boat. Weird how people get bent when someone has different opinion...
  24. Not saying you're wrong but I watched both and came to the opposite conclusion. So did most the internet as far as I can tell. Did you read the comments on both videos? I usually like Murray but the people commenting felt the same way as I did. He was pompous and forgot to debate. Wish he had because I agree with him more than Dave.
  25. I didn't know that a carpender represent Jesus but have a very limitted knowledge of western folk myths. My version seems more applicable to why to come to Thailand 🙂
