Three American Bully dogs maul 70-year-old man to death
atpeace replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I'm an owner of a mean dog but he isn't large enough to cause much damage to an adult. He is adorable when he is not being an idiot and would have hard time putting him down. I do keep a close eye on him when very young children are around which is extremely rare. These people knew what type of dog they brought into their home. Something isn't right with these types of people. Maybe they are just ignorant but regardless not a type a person I would hang around. That cage in the picture is sad. What type of person thinks it is humane to keep big animals in that tiny depressing cage. If it has to be cages like that then definitely don't own such a creature. -
I never stated it was my dream. Nor did I state it I believed it would be 90%. I did state if it grew at the same rate as 2024, 90% of cars would be EVs in a decade. The person I was replying to mentioned that EV sales were not growing at the same rate as 2024 which obviously was not sustainable. I get it - you love ICE cars and I have zero issues with your affection.

I've read that before too but I think there are some strong arguments that disprove it. Lithium batteries are currently the best option but new technologies will replace them if it becomes a necessity. I doubt electric vehicles powered by lithium will be the only option in the next 15 years. Just a hunch...

My car of choice but to be honest mine just sits outside and rests for sometimes weeks. I might buy a SUV next purchase but leaning towards an EV and don't want to buy that expensive Tesla truck. Wish I was wealthier at times.

Assume you didn't read the article. EV sales are flat while ICE vehicles are down 43%. If EVs growth remained the same as 2024 nearly 90% of cars on the road would be EV in the next decade. I own an ICE car and am happy with it. You are delusional. Open your eyes and see what is really happening on the roads. It is an amazing transition. There will be years when EV sales drop 20% but at this point it is ICE cars that are being hammered.

This is the wrong audience for this post 🙂 Your world is different than most here but is realistic. I've played in both and what I paired with was very dependent on where I was looking for love 🙂 Lots of benefits of hooking up with easy going night live Thai women but the odds of having normal deep conversations at any point in the future is slim.

Your age ballpark (eg, <30). I agree with above but to each his own. The fake pinching and playing gets old quick. If you are just out for a romp or a casual relationship then really doesn't matter much.

Too many what ifs! That is where I'm at now. Then again what is the worse that can happen? * It ends up being too cumbersome to get extensions. Solution: ditch it and go back to O or whatever. Pain but not a real concern for me. * You lose residency benefits. 5 yr vs 2 yr driver's license, health insurance???, some hospitals charge different rates for tourists vs residents, ... * You lie on your DTV application and are restricted from entering Thailand Solution: Don't lie Any other bad outcomes?

For you yes but what if you live on the border or close to it? No need for the the yearly extension? Simply cross the border and come back or spend time travelling. No worry about bank balances and earn 4-5% interest with deposits back home. Both options IMO are not expensive so it just is a matter of convenience which is different for each individual. I really want to try the new visa out for a year but not sure if I'm ready to pull the trigger. Like the idea of using an annual health checkup. I wonder what documentation is need and and where to get this checkup in Ubon. I arrange my checkup myself. Go to a government hospital with a list of blood work and other tests needed. The meeting with the doctors the last 10 years have been pointless. I am much better at analyzing the results because I know my personal health history. Have no issue with spending more if I can find a place to provide the needed documentation. I'm rambling....

Well you have flipped. What about the endless comments that Harris would be a terrible choice. Your exact words. As an independent thinker and voter I don't have to play these silly games as often. She does look Presidential and enjoy all the pics on this forum of her looking the part. As you stated, plenty to learn about her and she might surprise us in a good way.

That visa fee is why I don't go there more often. Basically 3,500 each crossing with re-entry stamps and car stamps. 2,500 with DTV(no re-entry) is much better. Also might look into other long term Lao visa options. It is rougher than Thailand and eating out is risky. I eat lots of canned and other processed food but many with stronger stomach don't have an issue.

Going to America soon and coming back November 1 which is 9 day prior to my O visa expiration. Hope to have more info by then but agree with the last 2 posts above. I live on the border and the visa would be ideal for me. One of my favorite destinations in the world is 30km from the border in Lao so I could take a few week trip every 180 days and not have to worry about entry stamps. Not a huge advantage for me since my 800k is in the bank but could even deplete this account which would be another plus. Have to check on my health insurance with AXA. I think I remember it required residency. Lots of unintended consequences is my biggest worry.

Except all those nationalities would love to live in America. Not all but you get the point. Many of the countries listed have citizens braving shark invested waters or deadly desserts to get into America because their countries don't take care of their citizens nor is there much opportunity for those that are not wealthy. No doubt America is far from perfect but much more perfect than past superpowers.

Nice backup if home batteries are empty and if you are off the grid a huge plus. Did you know that the Seal could power the house when you bought it or was it something you figured out afterwards?
-
No doubt for a big home in hot and muggy Thailand. I come close in my small home when in my exercise room with the treadmill, AC, huge fan, and electronics. If the other AC is on I would be close if not over 3500 W April-May.

I think he is stating that you can output 3.5 kWh max which would be more than enough to power my house. If I remember right, you have a large beach home so might not cut it for your situation. His video shows that it works but not at a high power output but it seems plausible considering that battery powers the car which uses more power than any home I've been inside of in Thailand. My biggest issue with solar is storage and using your car as storage could possibly eliminate this concern. It would be nice if he did another video with his air conditioners on and only draw from the car battery.
-
That is a great option. Didn't know that was possible but the perfect solution to drastically reduce storage needs. If you are on the grid, you would not have to worry if the car was at the home or not. For me the car could power my small home overnight and my 2-5 kWh every night would have little impact on the battery. Does using the car battery to power the house impact the Seal warranty? Cool vid!

The excess power goes into the battery bank. With an EV, less goes into the battery bank. To get around this you add more storage capacity and solar panels as I did which is the most expensive part of solar. That is what I did with my setup and it only takes a 1-3 years at todays cost to recoup the investment in the extra storage. With the extra panels and storage, you can take advantage of the sun! You don't have to charge your car or design your day around solar. Sit back and let the panels power the house and save the excess in a large battery pack.

OK, whatever you said above I'm fine with and really don't care in the least. Peace

Retired at 41 and in the end think it was good decision. Could be living here with lots more money if I waited another 5 years but would I be much more happy? Probably not so my gamble seems to have paid off. Only 57 so it could still end poorly but the odds are tiny of that happening. Too many retirement accounts available to me starting next year.

As well as a Wise fee for ATM withdrawals over $200 monthly. I am going to order the card today and this is perfect timing. Just added funds yesterday to Wise so I could use the card which I never have used prior. It has been on my account but forgot about it until last week. Wish Shopee would accept it but Lazada is always an option.

Yes I have solar. Done talking to you because of your anger with people that disagree with your story that you created in your angry noggin. The above is a dream scenario you seem to think is factual. Lots of what if and in perfect condition scenarios... Calm down and yes I do have solar. Done talking and take some anxiety pills.

Sorry, I thought that might be the case but was too lazy to go back and check and still can't determine what post I was replying.

I don't think your numbers add up. You spent $5000 on fuel which equate to about 1,200 miles a month for your Triton. That is about weekly charging and not every 3 weeks. Maybe I got the math wrong 🙂 You installed a system with capacity you wanted for a multitude of reasons. If you had known you were purchasing an EV then I assume your solar capacity would have been increased. Your existing capacity seems to be working for you so in that sense you can make the claim that there isn't an extra cost. Up to you but I don't think it is a real comparison. Anyhow - even if you throw in the cheap extra solar to charge your car which in the end game is inconsequential, your EV running cost per month are basically $0 which is impressive. I'm close to doing the same soon but no hurry since I drive so little(4k/yr).
