Oops -I still have some PTSD from Covid era where I seemed to a magnet for hate. Back to deep breathing and positive thoughts affirming my value...

They are fine and sorry if I offended you. Post as you like and ignore my preferences.

OK, your opinion and I disagree. Put them on ignore or simply read the insults with an open mind. I've learned much from offensive posters and nothing from removed posts. I am far from all knowing and most are in the same boat. Let people speak and the obvious fools will be exposed.

True but IMO we would benefit more if you added a paragraph or two, Hard to read and nearly impossible with a hangover.

No idea who the above posters are but agree 100%. What are the mods protecting us from? Let it rip and play somewhere else if you are too weak to be questioned or insulted. IMO only blatantly offensive posts should be removed. Covid brought on a level of policing that was unfair and created a divide where one group benefited and the other simply lost interest in having an intelligent discussion. What is the point of debating if only "one" truth is acceptable. Quite boring but at the same time interesting to witness weak individuals organizing into a herd of little demons in the name of good.

Cholestrerol levels..
Thailand arguably is the easiest country in the world to get general health checkups. Can walk into even rural hospitals and with a google translate put together what you want done during the checkup. The process is empowering but person getting the checkup needs to invest a little time in knowing how the numbers apply to themselves. For example, don't test liver functionality during an intense training block, the numbers would be almost meaningless because of the cellular damage caused by training. I'm of average intelligence but other than the first few checkups over a decade ago in Thailand, I have been much better at evaluating the checkup numbers than the doctors who in many cases have provided bad info and rarely take the time to explain why certain numbers might be high or low. Nothing against doctors and without them I would be not here today but as far as checkups, the person getting the checkup in most situations should be able to better evaluate the numbers than the doctor. If the numbers are terrible a doctor might be your only hope.

Don't be Bald
What do you prefer in life's experiences authentic or fake. A good fake is not all bad but sincerity is a completely different level.

Cholestrerol levels..
Yes and is almost meaningless unless the three variable that make up the total number are evaluated individually.

Do you look older than your age?
Brave to post a pic and shows your confidence. Strike me as the type that is comfortable in their own skin which most are not. I think there are a few people that hate me on this forum so I can't post a pic. Just have to take my word for it that I'm hansom and doubt you care anyhow. Cheers

Cholestrerol levels..
I watched a youtube vid recently where the youtuber showed the blood work process at Bangkok Pattaya. Either the doctor was clueless or simply didn't care to explain the cholesterol data. Is was hilarious and the youtuber thought he received value for his money. As I have stated numerous times here, know your numbers and what they mean to you. The numbers tell so much but if people don't learn a little about their implications they can be useless. BTW, my last test total cholesterol was 220 which states high as in unhealthy on the report. In reality Triclyceride (44), HDL (113) and LDL (99) are so good they are almost unbelievable. I've had blood work done 20-30 times the last 15 years and rarely(possibly never) did the doctor add any value and on many occasions provided bad information. Doctors have saved my life twice but in most non- life threatening situations I have found that I'm better at evaluating my health.

Do you look older than your age?
Yes, on the extremes, it is usually quite obvious that they have prematurely emptied the tank. I stay away from the hard stuff because the risks are not worth the benefit.

Do you look older than your age?
He must be around 70! How many 65 yo Thailand xpats are as healthy looking? 5-10 years ago he had less wrinkles but he seems to have lost 5 kilos and hence the wrinkles. Elastic skin is illusive as we age and dropping weight causes the dreaded sag. Looks like drugs, if they don't kill you, have less impact than expected for many.

Were you ever (or never) swoon worthy beautiful at any point in your life? (All genders)
Nice and hope the 40 year ride was wonderful.

Were you ever (or never) swoon worthy beautiful at any point in your life? (All genders)
Swoonworthy is hard for me to judge. When young and even more now at 56, I have intentions of being beautiful. We seek Beauty in its many forms throughout life and it has always been an endeavor of mine to find beauty in myself. Some might call this vanity but I disagree. Self beauty is earned through making difficult choices consistently throughout life. The vast majority choose to let their beauty deteriorate at different speeds and some even become spiteful of those that have retained their beauty. My partner is a few years older than me and I was first attracted to her because of her stunning beauty. She was walking through a market and it seemed like she was floating and everybody was in awe. We have been together now for nearly 4 years and she is still beautiful and constantly works on her beauty. She has freakish genetics but even those that weren't born with her level of beauty, like myself, can endeavor to retain their beauty even if it redefined. To answer the OP's original question. Some women swooned over me in my younger days when beaty was easy but now at 56, I truly feel as beautiful as I was at 25. Different type of beauty but the same internal sense of pleasure.

Do you look older than your age?
I think his point is that it is delusional ( he was quoting me). I Made the statement and still feel the same. I have got some laughs and find this thread more interesting than most. The posters as a whole do seem to be delusional. You must see the Farangs XXX(size) pats but everyone on this thread is fit and handsome.
-
Do you look older than your age?
I'm pretty sure that is Crocodile Dundee. Pic to fuzzy to tell age but looking fit!
-
Do you look older than your age?
This thread is delusional. 98% farangs I see are far from images of fitness. Pictures of the hansum posters? Many studies out there confirming most sense they are much more attractive than reality. As for me, I'm the true exception and my older wife looks younger than me with a rockin body. Life doesn't suck 🙂

divorce yes/no
Been where your at to a lesser extent but see where you are coming from. You f'd up and married someone that was probably mentally unstable and had two kids. I doubt she was a go getter in Thailand. I myself married the wrong woman but realized that having kids would leave me with much more complicated choices. If she offered to leave and your only concern is who will watch the kids, you are insane not to take her up on it. Do you want to keep stacking up your bad choices? Get her out of the country and put your life back together and hope she never comes back and complicates your new life. Once she is in Thailand other opportunities are available. A divorce in Thailand is accepted in many countries, USA for example, which has obvious benefits.

Are you afraid of Death?
Not really death but the process causes some anxiety. It's odd how each decade is better than the prior in my life but I do worry the next might be the start of the decline. On second thought I do worry about death. My life is in a good place and I on occasion worry about cancer or another disease. Not preoccupied but on a rare occasion a death thought come and goes.

Health Insurance for 80+yrs
Where do they plan on living in Thailand? What country are they citizens? How is their health? What type of coverage do they have now where they are living and the cost? Knowing this might change some of the responses above. There are always options but we are in the dark here trying to help with basically no info.

Refused pseudoephedrine at hospital
Interesting and may ad to my new toolbox. Have you suffered from severe sinus infections in the past? This last week has caused me to reevaluate my approach to severe sinus issues the last decade in Thailand which were debilitating when living in Chiang Mai. I stumbled into using pseudoephedrine 10 years ago and it became my miracle cure. I would stress if I didn't have at least 10 pills ready for the next flair up. I travel all the time which is difficult because hospitals only dispense the pills. I got over this last episode by diligently cleaning my nasal passages and almost got the same almost immediate relieve I got with Pseudoephedrine. Made me think. My sinuses are trying to clear something out and once the process is started they overreact that causes the weeks of drainage. Pseudoephedrine stops the drainage but doesn't resolve the what caused the issue in the first place, Prolific cleansing my sinus passages resolves the root issues which is clearing the irritant. Long post but for those in Thailand with severe sinus issues this search for a remedy, I'm sure will be understood. Thailand is arguably one of the worst places to live with sinus concerns and a sinus infection can destroy you for weeks.

Why are video games so often blamed for mass shootings?
Games I doubt have much if any impact but I bet there is a correlation between extreme enthusiasts and them becoming killers even if gaming isn't the cause. Last game I played was Asteroids in an mall arcade 30 years ago. Didn't make me feel the urge kill but obviously I'm a little out of touch. I did punch my brother after he took me off the Pacman leaderboard.

Protein drinks for weight loss
THE ABOVE ^^^ Carbs are the enemy and dropping all breads and basically all processed carbs produces big weight drops. Have a long term plan in place after initial big weight drop because 90% of people just put the weight back on in a year. It is also nice the first week when most shed a kilo or two of water weight which reduced bloat. Comes right back when you add the carbs back. I cut back on carbs as I aged and it was an easy way to not to pack on the fat.

WISE instant virtual free VISA debit cards.
More info please. I just got my card a minute ago and need to transfer money to my Wise account. If there is an added 2% fee probably not interested. It seems to only apply to topping up external accounts and would not be charged for transactions at Lazada for example. Has anyone used at Lazada, Shopee, etc?
