European Visa for Thai GF
jimn replied to Asmoseus_uk's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
I understand what you are saying. However my wife has had a number of Schengan visa's. First one was on the back of a recommendation by yourself to use the Netherlands embassy in Thailand. We never went to the Netherlands but entered first France and then Spain. Second was from the Swedish embassy, we went to France first before Sweden. Third we got again from the Swedish embassy but only went to France and Italy. At one time I wrote to one of the embassies in the UK and they replied with a process to get from the UK that we ended up not doing, so it is possible and not always has to be done in Bangkok. Also in my experience they do not check what country in the Schengan area issued the visa. -
I prefer to do it myself - thanks

I don't know where you drink, it must be Nakon nowhere. In Pattaya and Jomtien people drink either from bottles or have draught beer. A very few people have a bottle with a glass and no ice. The only time I have ever had someone try to top up the beer or add ice is in a Thai barbecue where it's an accepted part of the service. Elsewhere in a bar I have never seen or experienced it. Maybe you are one of the cheap Charlie's who irritate me. Bagging the best seat with the best Seaview and spending an hour over drinking a small bottle of beer with a glass. Maybe they are topping up your glass to get you to buy another beer or to move on. -
European Visa for Thai GF

Don't comment if you don't know. It is possible to obtain a schengan visa direct from some embassies direct as long as you contact them first to ask. Those that do will inform of the process. I suggest you email a few ie Spain, France, Portugal etc and see. A schengan is valid across the EU although you are supposed to get a visa from the first country you visit or if visiting a few countries, the country where you will be spending most time. This is rarely enforced. -
British Couple Arrested for Running Xanax Scam in Thailand

I see this on BBC app a few days ago. The tablets don't even look like Xanax. Long square white ones. The ones I know are oval and blue. I wouldn't use them. -

New profile. Obviously a wind up. You are probably one of the idiots who post rubbish like Bob Smith or georgegeorgia or even Bignok under a different profile

What you think about Asian wife's or Girlfriends
jimn replied to still kicking's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Simple. My Thai wife of 10 years is 31. If I was looking for a farang woman I would have to settle for a fat old woman in her 50,s, no thanks. My ex wife is 70 now. It's obvious don't you think. -
Thanks Charlie it's not the paid for ads but normal content.

German Tourist's Fatal Fall at Pattaya Hotel Shocks Visitors
jimn replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Well you got that wrong, this happened at 10pm. Read the first few posts. -
It may be a myth but it is reason why some people are refused visa's so soon after returning from a previous visit. My wife now has a 10 year visa so it's not an issue to stay 5 months. But going back a few years she visited for 4 months Sept to Jan. Applied for a new visa to visit from May to September and it was refused on the grounds that she would be spending too much time in the UK in a 12 month period. Re Appied 2 months later and it was granted. Granted this was a few years ago but I very much doubt if a new visa would be granted unless a period has elapsed before the new application.

Whilst I respect your knowledge of the UK visa system I think you are misunderstanding the real question in this case. Whilst she can apply any time she will be limited to the dates she can enter the UK. On a Standard UK visit visa no one will be allowed to stay for more than 180 days (6 months) in a rolling 12 month period. So if the OP's MIL stays 15/3/24to 15/8/24 this is 5 months. This means that she can only stay for 1 more month before 15/3/25. I suggest if she wishes to come for 5 months again, the earliest she should apply is to arrive after this date.

90 day report and new passport
jimn replied to thaitom's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They obviously are not consistent. Last October I returned with a new passport and had the stamps transferred. I was able to do the 90 day report when it was due online as usual. -
I suppose the Holocaust didn't happen, man did not land on the moon, Kennedy was assassinated by the FBI and Hitler died quietly years after the war in Argentina.

Medical certificate not an issue if it needs to be valid 3 months and you are away for 2 months. Get one in Thailand, very cheap, this will be accepted for the OA.

Ex-Police Chief's Wife Suspected of Seeking UK Citizenship to Escape Charges
jimn replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
A complete non storey. You can't just apply for UK citizenship on a whim, it's a long drawn out 5 year process just to get permanent permission to remain. Getting a UK passport takes longer.- 110 replies
