  1. Perhaps the complaining mother may wish to explain the quite substantial Egg ball or whatever the brown ball is in the wider left photo that is missing in the right close up photo. With that inclusive in the meal it looks plenty for pre schoolers - saying looks without being able to determine what the brown ball is and access it's healthiness.

I agree. Looking at the plates on the table, it seems enough to me if the food is good. Looking only at the closeup of the plate seems disingenuous.

Don't forget, those plates are child-size plates, and not normal size. So in reality, it's a <deleted> disgrace. Look at the plates below the assistant's view. They're child stomach sized, and then they get the measly portion on the reduced plate size. I can't think in anybody's book they'd truly agree with such an obvious BS policy.

  2. My DL was stolen (the pink card), but I still have the old green form (Duplicate Copy).

However, I have searched the DVLC high and low to find a way to get a replacement licence, and it appears you can't if you are outside UK.

Has anybody had any experience of this, or know any way to get a replacement licence from Thailand?

    Cheers for solid advice.

  3. ""Don't let them stay in the house glued to electronic screens. These bad habits will lead to eating out of proportion, not eating on time and eating low-quality food," she added."

Electronic screens? Yeah, right, that's why kids are overweight. Heard same BS about TV when I was a kid. I'm guessing experts in the past blamed radio and those new fangled books back in the day as well.

Don't be too cynical. I don't know your age but I was born mid 60's and when I started school, if there was a fat kid, he/she was a laughing stock, a curiosity, very odd. By the eighties when I finished school, fat kids were no longer so odd as there were so many of them, especially in the younger generation. It correlates to the introduction of TV. In the 50's Australia, not everyone had one but by the 70's, everyone had one.

Now with the advent of electronic games and comms, in some neighbourhoods the sporty kids are the odd ones.

It doesn't only correlate to the intro of TV. It also correlates to the advent of junk food, very much, and that correlates more in Thailand than anything else, regarding a massive change in diet for youngsters in recent years. TV and Games is a background issue.

  4. But without resources these crackdowns are pointless.

    Thailand needs:

    • A centralised database that the police can check the status of any drivers licence to drive.
    • Automatic bans for certain driving offences and toting up points system to ban bad drivers.
    • Police need reliable communications to check a drivers status.
    • The police need a lot more tow trucks.
    • The police need a lot more compounds for storing seized vehicles.
    • The police need to know they are not above the law, and will not only be fired for collecting "tea money" but also be prosecuted.
    • The police need a lot more vehicles to be able to patrol the highways instead of operating from static roadside check points.

the first what hey need is decent salary that they don't need to rely on the tea money anymore. but than comes the greed...

Care to point to a decent salary threshold which would curb tea-money?

  5. You get a non-O multi-entry from UK Thai consulate, not embassy. I believe Liverpool is the easiest, and you don't have to provide financial evidence. They simply take your 120 odd quid and give you a stamp within the hour. I, as above poster says, would obtain the non-O in the UK, and save yourself the hassle of applying here, and having to produce endless paperwork and bank statements, etc.

  6. The blitz will include towing away vehicles, locking wheels, arrests, detention - and traffic cops being polite, Royal Thai Police adviser Lt-General Wuthi Liptapallop said.

Well that is certainly going to stop people from committing suicide across the country. The thought of having your vehicle towed away after I have jumped would certainly deter me, how would I get to the pearly gates?

Yeah. I could quite work out the sudden tangent too. How disrespectful!
