Anyone reccomend a decent / legit antivurus program?
johng replied to Kenny202's topic in IT and Computers
Maybe better to go with a Host file...in fact a plethora of host file. ? https://www.meridianoutpost.com/resources/sys-admin-guide/block-ad-servers-with-HOSTS-file.php#list https://pgl.yoyo.org/adservers/links.php#2 -

Singapore turbulent flight: Aussie survivor’s desperate plea
johng replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Crystal ball ? What I'm saying is that "passengers" should be able to walk around during the flight not only to go to the toilet but the galley, talk to friends and for the exercise especially important on long flights...anyone who wants to sit strapped into a chair for 12 hours is free to do so. -
Rishi Sunak Calls Early UK General Election for 4 July
johng replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The Ukrainian elections have been called off as it is apparently "illegal" to hold them during wartime Zelenski's five year term has expired and Blinken is there singing "rocking in the free world" !!!!! -
Yes this method works well too but its not so neat as a hole saw/diamond coring bit.. Global house Hardware house and many other hardware stores should have them but may require a bit of searching for....or buy from Lazada / shopee if no rush.

Viagra ?? Anyway one time my Thai landlord had said I had made many holes in his walls ...yes I had installed mosquito nets and windows and power points and Ethernet trunking..when he put up the rent again I called it quits but was determined to get my 8,000 baht deposit back so I restored his premises to pristine condition removing (most) everything I had installed, filling every single hole and colour matched paining of the holes...he was quite astonished when he come for the leaving inspection and I got my full deposit back.

Singapore turbulent flight: Aussie survivor’s desperate plea
johng replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You are of course free to sit strapped into a chair for 12 hours and risk deep vein thrombosis (DVT). If there is turbulence the captain will put the fasten safety belts sign on and everyone should comply (including take off and landing) other than that "passengers" should be free to walk about especially on very long flights. -

Ohh bloody blimey sir !! must be all that curry 😋 -
Using a hole saw can be a bit of a challenge to get it started they tend skid all over the place...some come with a center drill to help with this problem but a lot don't and in that case a template can really help.. use the hole saw to cut a hole in a sacrificial thin(ish) bit of wood, tile, plastic etc and have a helper hold the template on the wall whilst starting off once it cuts about 1 mm in then no more skidding around...it also helps to spray water whilst cutting..and no hammer action with the diamond bit.

Singapore turbulent flight: Aussie survivor’s desperate plea
johng replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
There is no way you can keep "passengers" strapped to their seats for a 12 hour flight the incidence of DVT would sky rocket and cause much more death and injury than a bit of freak turbulence. -
Use a diamond coring bit (hole saw) to make a neat hole on both sides of the wall then punch through with whatever drill bits you have to connect the two sides..inside the wall it doesn't really matter how messy it gets.

They are not boats they are the remnants of the failed floating dock project from years and years ago. yes failed after the first big storm that caused damage to a few speed boats whilst docked there after that all (most) the speedboat operators refused to use it and it quickly fell into total disrepair..eventually they dragged all the debris onto shore where it remains to this day and built the replacement concrete conventional pier/dock. Wonder when they will get round to the other Bali Hai eyesore ???

Thailand Lowers Flags to Half-Mast for President Raisi
johng replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
yes today but not yesterday..however small independent shops will often sell regardless..if you like Chang,Leo and Singha other varieties can be much harder to find on "proscribed" days so best to stock up before hand..though its easy to get caught out as there a quite a few "proscribed" days. -

Where these victims raped ? are these victims IDF soldiers ? are these victims observers ? are these victims just "Israeli girls in their pajamas" ? from the link you posted The report said that "despite concerted efforts to encourage" victims to come forward, the team was unable to interview any of them. Some allegations of rape and sexual violence were "unfounded", the report explained, including the graphically publicised case of a pregnant woman whose womb was reportedly torn open and her foetus stabbed. Other reports could not be verified due to limited imagery, the UN said. It also said it had not been able to establish a discernible pattern of genital mutilation. The UN report also said there had been allegations of sexual violence against Palestinians in Israeli custody, including "unwanted touching of intimate areas" and "prolonged forced nudity" in detention settings, during house raids and at checkpoints after 7 October. The report said that while no instances of rape against Palestinians were reported, conservative cultural norms could have impeded reporting of sexual assault. Israel's foreign ministry rejected this part of the report.

I for one will not be using this !!! https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2024/05/microsofts-new-recall-feature-will-record-everything-you-do-on-your-pc/ "At first glance, the Recall feature seems like it may set the stage for potential gross violations of user privacy. Despite reassurances from Microsoft, that impression persists for second and third glances as well. For example, someone with access to your Windows account could potentially use Recall to see everything you've been doing recently on your PC, which might extend beyond the embarrassing implications of pornography viewing and actually threaten the lives of journalists or perceived enemies of the state" Well you don't say !!! WTH are they doing ?
