You could have checked. Theerasak Longji, 26, was executed by lethal injection on 18 June 2018. Before this, the last executions to take place in Thailand were of two drug traffickers in August 2009, after a period of no executions since 2003, according to Amnesty International. Amnesty International in their annual report released May 2023 noted that Thailand continued to commute death sentences.

Local expat needs help after motorbike incident

If you read the link he has already had four operations and requires two more. An earlier thread April 10 on this forum was appealing for blood donations, as he was at risk of losing his leg and two operations were required. -
The two I knew well, one English and one Australian, definitely did not have an autopsy, I was involved with both families through the process up to cremation. Both had been undergoing cancer treatment, neither of them died in a hospital. Perhaps their medical records were sufficient to confirm cause of death; there was certainly no autopsy in either death. The Australian Embassy site states: If the death occurs outside of hospital or by accident, the police officer in charge will conduct any necessary investigations and may request an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Best Starting Salary for University grads

Ms Mango is an accountant for a civil engineering company, 155 staff. Gave me the example of their recent straight from uni engineering graduate who commenced on exactly 20,000 per month. But - he/she gets a 2000b meal allowance, iPhone and contract, fuel allowance, apartment rent paid, medical/dental scheme, superannuation contribution (last two items applicable to all permanent employees). Private companies have the opportunity to balance salary with tax-free allowances. Annual reviews, and bonus after qualifying period of years. This July will be her tenth anniversary there, up a step in terms of bonus eligibility; equally, gets to the point where can employee can't leave as would be starting over with a new company in terms of bonus progression. -
Best Starting Salary for University grads

Daughter #1 worked at 7-11 throughout her uni studies, part-time, plus fulltime on semester breaks, she enjoyed it, never complained, and gave her some independence/spending money; in her last year she was a shift supervisor which paid a little more - but best thing was she liked working there and took all available extra hours. Second daughter starts at same 7-11 as soon as she turns 18 later this year. -

Feeling safe in your own home
gomangosteen replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Sunday 23rd was our five years anniversary in this house, one of eleven houses all built 2018/9. All still have the original owners, five occupied by retirees, one other couple with two children younger than our two. There's three cats, two Chihuahua-size dogs, a talking parrot and old Brownie an aged golden Labrador. No through traffic, quiet, have never worried about additional security, a lock on the gate is enough. We'd lived nearby for seven years before building here, have never been aware of any household theft / burglary in that time. Long may it last. Fifteen years ago we were robbed on our last day in Chalong / Phuket - everything packed and ready to go we went out with a friend, returned to find all the small electronics - cameras, laptop etc gone. Person was later caught (by a neighbour) but none of our items recovered. -

Mysterious death: Australian tourist found dead in police station cell
gomangosteen replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
It's a poor translation. Again. The quoted Daily News item states 'sports pants tied to the bars' and that he used the pants as a rope to tie around his neck. Matichon News identified the man as "Michael Matthew Winder, 31, an Australian national" after a drunken rampage on Bangla Road, and states he tied his shirt around his neck and bars of his cell. A third news source may have another version! . . . I don't know what to believe. -
Yes. My partner was, prior to her current role, an auditor for the commercial claims at Virayah insurance. A drugged or drink driver may void a company's insurance - so in effect it's a double-edged situation where if the driver is drugged, or drunk, it is possibly an advantage to the bus company if he flees, later gets charged for that offence, and uses the usual 'brake fail' reason. It's a crooked system through and through.

Thai woman sets new record at London Marathon
gomangosteen replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Good on her, a bit of fun. And if anyone here can run 42 consecutive kilometres at a pace of 5 min 19 per km, regardless of what clothing they choose to wear, do it! Never particularly enjoyed running, my best half marathon 1hr 34, @ 4:27 per km but that distance was my limit. Respect to Shrinya “Dr Miyu” Kanchanasewi -
You're having a laugh, surely. If there's a Thai phrase for 'don't let the door hit you on the way out' then that would apply. Any 'contribution' is miniscule in the scheme of things, offset by the hordes of derelict old alcoholics one step away from a balcony leap.

Confuscious? Well perhaps you're confused, as you're certainly no Confucius Know many independent women in management positions; rate my partner as same as she's not dependent upon me or my income - accountant/office manager and I'd say many of her colleagues and friends are similarly 'independent' in terms of careers/earnings. Perhaps widen your circle of acquaintances. get out more.

A few years back? Pre- August 2021? This seems very clear on the matter: Thailand: Introduced import ban on used motorcycles On 11 August 2021, Thailand issued the Ministry of Commerce Notification B.E. 2564 (2021) to ban the import of used motorcycles. The affected products included used motorcycle, electric motorcycle, moped, bicycle fitted with auxiliary motor (electric bike) under HS code 87.11, and used antique motorcycle with age more than 100 years old, under HS code 97.06. Used motorcycles mean motorcycles under the definition above-mentioned which have been used and should be goods prohibited from being imported into Thailand according to the Notification. The regulation entered into force on 11 August 2021
