  2. Removed some off-topic posts and the replies to them.
  3. In such case, I would upload a note stating this fact, plus a copy of the yellow house registration book which lists me as residing there.
  4. Too much off-topic posting and too much bickering. This topic has run its course and is now closed.
  5. Removed a troll post and the reply to it.
  6. OP, if you are currently in a country where you qualify for e-visa application, the multiple-entry tourist visa probably would serve you best.
  7. The extension will be for 30 days, added onto the expiration date of your current permission to stay.
  8. Ubonjoe's passing away saddens me deeply and I am at a loss of words to describe my feelings. Joe was was a very kind man with a heart of gold. On the forum, he was always patient, never tired of providing helpful information from his enormous fountain of knowledge. I am not exagerating when I say that he read practically every post of every topic in the visa forum, making sure that nothing got missed and everyone got the guidance they sought. He will be sorely missed. To his wife and family, I express my heartfelt condolences.
  9. Yes, they are asking for a facial photo to be taken and if you are Thai they ask for your ID, if you are a foreigner they ask for your passport.
  10. Yes, the text of the pop-up message displayed in the Krungsri app is a bit confusing, probably a bad translation from Thai. They obviously mean that Thai nationals must show their ID card, foreigners must show their passport.
  11. Can you post a link to the source of this rumour?
  12. Removed an off-topic post.
  13. It is highly unlikely that Thai Immigration will ask you for a return ticket, but the airline may ask you when you check in for your flight to Thailand.
  14. I looked at the web page to which you gave a link in a later post. 1. You must give a copy of the hospital's birth report, which apparently is supposed to show the child's weight. 2. The first entry of a child to a house registration book can only be made by presenting the child's Thai birth certificate. 3. The website says that the application for the Thai birth certificate must be made online.
  15. The disturbing text on the website of the Thai embassy in the UK — and probably a similar text to the same effect on the websites of Thai embassies in other countries — is this: Theoretically, even if the request for proof of funds is an error, the e-visa application can be refused without refund of the pre-paid fee.
  16. The inclusion of proof of GBP 10,000 (or the equivalent of THB 400,000 in some countries) with the non-O e-visa application to visit the Thai wife is generally considered to be an error and there have been posts on this forum that uploading a sheet of paper with "not required" was accepted, but I don't remember if any of these applications were made from the UK and if there was a longer than usual processing time in such cases.
  17. Removed a troll post.
  18. Do the tranfer of stamps from the old to the new passport at the immigration office where where you are registered as living.
  19. Good to hear that the Chiangmai immigration office is finally following these rules.
  20. Let's see if this link to the TM.47 PDF file works: https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/Form-TM-47.pdf
  21. I never needed to, but it has been my experience in dealing with bureaucracy not only in Thailand (Food and Drug Administration) but also in Switzerland that a written message to to the next higher level in a government agency produces results. In the case of the Consular Division of the MFA, they will never get to hear about deficiencies in the visa section of an embassy if the users don't inform them.
  22. Separately, send a polite email to [email protected], giving a summary of the phone conversation with the Thai Embassy in London when they advised you that you should apply one month prior to your flight to Thailand, complain that after having made your application you got an email saying that approval may taker two to three months, and enclose a PDF file of the email you received. Give them your flight date and ask if they can help you get the visa in time for your trip.
