  1. That's one area where the pink ID card can be useful for a foreigner. Passport numbers change from one passport to the next, the ID card number never changes. It was for this reason that I had Kasikorn Bank unlink my account from my passport and link it to my ID card.
  2. In what school's pronunciation guide? Each school seems to have its own.
  3. You are more likely to get a useful answer if you indicate at what Thai Embassy or consulate the e-visa application will be made.
  4. My guess is that PPC is this poster's way of referring to Passport Control, without any concern whether the readers know or can guess what he means with it.

  8. The story related by Eff1n2ret is hearsay and probably not accurate and/or complete. This is probably what happened at the immigration desk at BKK airport: – Thai national (TN) presents her new Thai passport obtained from the Thai embassy in the UK. – Immigration official (IO): "Where is your other passport?" – TN presents her UK passport. – IO expected to be shown TN's old Thai passport with the last departure stamp from Thailand, but getting instead her UK passport he takes the easy way out and stamps her in on that passport.

  10. If I were no totally hopeless with he use of social media (Facebook, Twitter, TikTok. Instagram, Reddit, Pinterest and all that jazz) I would post to applaud the embassy in Malaysia for their contribution to the effort of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism to fight "overtourism" in Thailand. Spreading such things on social media seems to be an effective way in Thailand of getting the attention of the government.

  12. Australian Bitcoin bank hacked: $1m+ stolen November 8, 2013 - 1:53PM Ben Grubb A four-month-old Australian Bitcoin bank holding more than $1 million has been hacked, leaving thousands of customers in the lurch including a man who claims he was holding the virtual currency to buy a house with his girlfriend. The alleged hacking happened on both October 23 and 26, with the service's operator, known only as "Tradefortress ", saying hackers stole all 4100 Bitcoins held by the wallet service, or $1.3 million at the time of writing. The Bitcoins were stored on servers in the US and it wasn't until this week that he decided to notify customers. The incident again raises questions as to whether Bitcoin is a viable, stable and secure currency.
