  1. Can they teach you how to avoid document scrutiny at Immigration without serious injury ?
  2. Why not just go to Phuket...????
  3. Have you forgotten about the Farang 'Ghetto' in lower Sukumwit in Bangkok ?
  4. "as part of the incentive program, wealthy homeowners will be allowed to increase their 90 day reporting period to 91 days and will be only be required to file a TM30 report if they associate or otherwise socialize with non wealthy foreigners."
  5. Don't you have to be working and paying tax to apply for PR status ? How can you do this when retired ?
  6. We are a scurrilious bunch...always plotting to defraud local hospitals. Why I was just thinking about getting a liver transplant and then doing a runner just because my OA visa gives me special privileges.
  7. I would be less worried about the legalities of the situation than the squatter who may come at you with a machete who believes that fruit is theirs.
  8. Why not just make it mandatory for OA visa holders / extenders to buy a useless policy to bail them out...
  9. Khon Kaen Airport waiting for my flight back to Bangkok. Old codger sidles up in the next seat... "Yeah...you put all your life savings into these girls, buy them houses, cars, everything...and then you're on the way out with nothing" Whining and droning on like a lovesick 13 year old..."yeah....she'll be sorry...wait till she sees what's available out there...I'll be looking great...she'll be hitting me up on Line, begging me to come back...but I'm outta here...back to the States" Thank God he was on a different flight.
  10. I've never had a problem with Lazada. As many have said...it's not hard to spot fake dealers. I have purchased two mid priced mobile phones from Lazada dealers and it's not hard to tell who has a legitimate shop. No issues whatsoever. I only even ever browse Shopee because they carry a more extensive range of guitars (my hobby) and again not hard to vet dealers....usually only a handful of reputable shops you see everywhere....do they have an independent website ? What about reviews where people have posted real pics of products received ? Happy shopping
  11. It's great that this guy gets his due...but have you seen worker housing in Thailand ? Perhaps should be a wakeup call to clean up treatment of immigrant workers here too,
  12. The problem is extensions have same requirements as O visa retirement holders...but get tagged with additional insurance. My guess is the ministers have no working knowledge of the extension process/requirements and only saw that OA visa holders not required to have money here, hence insurance. Reality is law being applied inappropriately due to their ambiguous orders and this is Thailand....nobody is going to tell their boss (Minister level) that they need to change it.
  13. You are overthinking this. They will not be reading your policy to determine if you have preexisting conditions.
  14. Between their oil and his hair slicker this entire affair can just slip away
  15. It looks like a covered grate drain...standard everywhere in SE Asia....what maintenance would you suggest ?
  16. The funniest part of the this entire saga is how the jewels returned turned out to be fakes and how senior officer's wives were seen wearing the stolen jewels months later. And the investigators turning up dead.....hmmm...what a coincidence
  17. I walk that skywalk all the time...likely she was wearing heels and yes in the tropics you have to have drains...also have to watch where you are walking.
  18. This may help: https://support.circulon.com/support/solutions/articles/65000167023-do-stainless-steel-handles-get-hot- Do stainless steel handles get hot? William Mercado Modified on: Fri, 7 Aug, 2020 at 8:33 PM Do stainless steel handles get hot? Generally, stainless steel is a poor heat conductor which is why it makes for good, sturdy handles. There are several types of stainless steel handles. Stainless steel tubular handles are sturdy and oven safe. The stainless steel is formed into a tubular shape, creating an inside air flow up the shank of the handle. This slows the buildup of heat from the hot pan to the handle. Most of our newer product lines with tubular handles also contain a baffle where the handle meets the pan, allowing the handle to stay cooler for a longer period of time. Cast stainless steel handles are molded into sturdy, beautiful handles that come in various shapes for grip comfort while remaining oven safe and durable. Hollow-core cast stainless steel handles stay cooler longer than solid cast stainless steel handles and are oven safe to 500 degrees F. The air in the core of the handle insulates against heat during stovetop cooking. For all types of stainless steel handles, the heat setting and length of the handle determine how long the handle will stay cool to the touch. Long stick handles will usually stay cooler than shorter side handles. However, if the stick handle is on a small skillet, the handle is much closer to the heat source, and consequently will tend to heat up much faster than a stick handle on a wide saute pan or tall saucepan. Be sure to follow these basic guidelines when using product with stainless steel handles. Use the burner size that most closely matches the size of your product. Center your product on the burner. Use low to medium heat. Always use pot holders when removing product from the stovetop. Note: You may want to consider using handle sleeves. They are a popular tool and are usually available from online retailers and most larger department stores.
