Im having some health issues and was thinking if I were to pre-decease my wife and then later she dies of something... what happens to our child? Chatted with my wife last night and we both agreed that its not good if our child would be sent to her parents in Isan. Its definitely not in the best interests of our child if this happens. My wife also has a problem with her health but not as significant as my issue. So what can legally be done to cover this situation? We know a family nearby that we think would be suitable for our child but havent talked to them yet. Obviously all this is not an issue right now as we are both alive but if something were to happen then its a different story... Does this sort of thing go in a Will or what? All I want to do is to protect my child and ensure he is never sent to the in laws to live. Any opinions are appreciated

Im on daily heart medication and purchased a months supply from the well know private hospital in Bangkok . It cost 6,050 baht. I visited a reputable pharmacy in the city where I live and the exact same brand from Switzerland costs only 1300 for same quantity. I assume most folk would be aware of this issue but Im raising this thread to help anyone who doesn't know that one will pay HUGE prices for meds at a private hospital. I realise that they have to employ many staff and have high overheads but the mark up does seem excessive. I would kindly ask the mods not to delete the hospital name as this is factual information and doesn't fall under the umbrella of civil tort law (defamation) cheers

I know immigration requires 2 copies of all docs for marriage visa. But what about Wp renewal? Is it one or two? Its so tedious having to give exactly the same copies of everything again. thanks

Its so true. Actually most cities have at least 1 top government secondary school. Ones child has to pass a test to get into it and its full on program. My kids in one of these and very impressed at the high standards there

They will give me a 1 month under consideration stamp. Whatever happens with my WP has absolutely NO impact on my ext of stay. They are not linked. 2 different govt departments. I think the labor dept dont care if I submit after my expiry date either. Will ask them and let you know

Ok thanks. Actually I visited them a month ago and said I wanted to get a renewal. They gave me a list of requirements thats exactly the same as when I first got the WP. I think its ridiculous that one has to submit ALL the same docs.

And in the nanny state of oz you get people in these positions of power creating many rules. I cant stand that either. In Thailand when I go away once a month to a beach location I book a rented condo or 4 to 5 star hotel.

It doesnt work like that here in Thailand with any of the big banks.
