  1. That's okay. But I really recommend you to make a test drive with the MG4 electric. It is on par with Volkswagen ID.3, which says a lot about the built quality plus 8 years battery and 5 years vehicle warranty (and it comes with a lower price). Apart from that you could have a look at the Honda City Hatchback or Nissan Kicks. Yaris' automatic transmission is horrible and drives like a rubber band. Mazda I don't like personally but others do...

  3. What's your budget and estimated annual mileage per year? MG 4 EV could be a possible option...
  4. Upcountry voters might lean towards Yinluck, Bangkok voters towards FF/PMP. PPR, Bhumjaithai and Democrats might be the big loosers. Elites are unhappy about this, making a coup not unlikely...
  5. Yes, typical Thai thinking. Cheap at the beginning but don't think about the running or replacement costs. Most people don't understand that they could save half of their electricity bills by using insulated houses. But I've given up to explain this concept to Thais. Let them do as they please. Not my house or money....
  6. Only one reason: Just to show off the car is new. Why do you think most Thais don't remove the plastic cover from newly bought items like any other normal thinking person would do. I've seen new car with still plastic cover an their seats. The mind boggles but TiT. Don't try to make any logical thinking approach to the majority of people here...
  7. Inside the frame is desiccant to absorb moisture
  8. @sometimewoodworker I correct myself regarding the u-values. Profile manufacturer Deceuninck claims a u(f) of 1.5 which sounds okay to me. https://www.deceuninck.co.th/EVERESTMAX/6217c02a679ec60013ac93b4
  9. Interesting company, thanks. So. they can make or supply the glass. But no mention about who can make the windows or what profile you can use with their glass on the website. Also, if this is true, the u(g)-value of ordinary 3mm clear glass double-pane with 5.8 is ridiculously high. It might be different in combination with the u(f)-value for a quality frame with thermal break. But for 5.8 I don't need more expensive double-pane windows then....
  10. some foreign owned Thailand-based windowmakers offer argon filling. Still highly debated (even in western countries) if the gas filling has any effect...
  11. Why have windows then in the first place? Of course I want to open or close when there is no direct sunshine on the windows to let light in
  12. that's more suitable for a terrace or patio, not in front of windows. And you have to be very careful for (strong) winds. I have worked eight years for this manufacturer WAREMA and load plates for fixing them on the wall were huge and super strong.
  13. more likely import tax for some "exotic" or western standard construction material
  14. How is the law here in Thailand, if someone not keeping safe distance and crashes into your back? Doesn't matter if it was AEB from your car or you just stepped manually on the brake pedal...
  15. Yep, I think that's the main issue here in Thailand. Doesn't matter if you use LKA from Mercedes or Tesla or in this case "just" from MG
  16. any other than the small one-man-shops window fabrication is automatically done on a CNC machine. And as yellowtail said, labour costs here are in general a fraction of what you would have to pay in the US or Europe
  17. If the windowmaker is using a good profile, that has a thermal break between exterior and interior side I assume the energy saving cost is still relevant. On the other hand, if it's just two panes squeezed into an ordinary frame, you're right about the minimal effects
  18. Almost every review about the MG4 has been complaining about the LKA and cruise control issues. Therefore if MG really listen to customer they should fix this in a software update. As you said, the car has the capability for it.
  19. Nice to see. But at what price? 2 million baht
  20. And that's a reason not to use it? Initial cost? What about the energy savings and benefits of sound insulation? Of course you can build a <deleted> cheap Thai house with 5cm walls, no soundproofing or insulation and single pane windows. But what's the quality of living in there....
  21. Do you have double glazing windows?
  22. You forgot that the EP is based on an ICE platform while the MG4 has been completely new developed on a dedicated BEV platform. MG 4 has rear wheel drive, a floor battery and 50:50 weight distribution.
  23. Like I said, design with glass surfaces sells better than solid walls
  24. Try that in Bangkok ????
  25. for better design resulting in higher sales price. Those architects or developers don't have to endure the heat, noise or pay the expensive electricity bill.
