Obviously a newb here. Life is extremely cheap in Thailand. Ignorantly and arrogantly underestimating the hidden viciousness & violence behind that dull smile of the Thai male can be a fatal. They regularly kill parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters, friends, strangers, other relatives, spouses, gf's, bosses, coworkers and foreigners over the tiniest of little things. Sometimes for no reason at all. Be careful. Be wary. Be warned.

I've called them 3 times and and always had a fluent English speaker. Very pleasant and professional.The video inspection was a different story...had to wait 45 mins after my scheduled time for an English speaker to call back, but after the delay, all went smoothly with a fluent English speaker.

Yes...but you need to find a good masseuse. I really love Thai Traditional Massage, but can be too intense and painful for many. A good masseuse can sense and push you to your limit...then ease off without exceeding it. Many either don't have this ability...or are just trying to make you squeal in pain. Some seem to take pleasure in that. Never had a terrible Thai massage, but some are far superior to others. You know it's good when you leave feeling energized and invigorated.

Love and use AGODA for 99% of hotel bookings, though recently found BOOKING had a cheaper rate on a resort near Kaeng Krachan NP. Never considered using them for flights, because as you apparently learned the hard way...too much fine print. Definitely prefer to book directly with the air carrier. That said, have used CheapOair a couple times without any problems.

2 weeks minimum. It's low season now, which helps...but hardly ever seems it in BKK & Pattaya. GOOGLE some of the quiet "kohs" (islands). Chiang Mai is always excellent. Chiang Rai, Mae Hongson. Avoid Phuket...at least Patong Beach. Krabi is a possibility. Kanchanaburi also...depending on the topography you prefer.
