  1. TG service sucks. Once the cabin crew cleans up the meal service, they disappear into the gallies never to be seen again. They serve all drinks in thimbles. Wouldn't quench a Quetzal's thirst or give a bee a buzz. Thai Smile cabin attendants much better...and it's the same company.
  2. Son shoulda taken Pa seriously when he said "I'll pop a cap in yo ass'‼️
  3. Just wait for the Thai Customs Apologists. They'll tell you it should've been about $100 duty on your purchase. And that seems fair and justified to them. That it's your fault for "being lazy". ????
  4. Most people are quite unobservant. Most Thais are totally oblivious. Mai bpen rai.
  5. Seems it should be fairly simple to open an online bank account from anywhere. Especially if it is with the same bank. Not a UK bank, but just opened a new Capital One account from here in Thailand the other day. Did need a US phone number for verification codes/1-time passwords, which I have for exactly this reason.
  6. I'm a 4 minute walk from Jomtien Immigration and never go near the place unnecessarily. Why go near that place, or any place, if ya don't have to? With the new online 90-day, it's unnecessary for that task. Works great with same (or next) day approval. You'll love it.
  7. Ridiculous. The CC transactions are quicker and more convenient for everyone. People rummaging thru their pockets and handbags for their money and 7-11 staff having to go to the "change maker" to break even B100 bills takes much longer than the touch & go CC transaction. Haven't used cash in a 7 for going on 2 years. ????
  8. If correct, that is not only a ripoff, but blatantly greedy ripoff.
  9. Chances are you'll be paying out the ying-yang. Thai import duty is a ripoff. In 2020, sent a box of odds & ends and some clothes from the USA. FedEx put a default value of $100 for insurance purposes. Had to pay B3000 to Customs to take delivery of the parcel. The contents was all old stuff and no electronics. Total ripoff and would never do it again. Pls followup and let us know how much they ding you for.
  10. Well that would be a first, but I digress. Please enlighten us to "the truth", oh knowledgeable one. ????
  11. A nice addition to my "Patch" list yesterday. White-bellied Sea-Eagle soaring over. Brings the Jomtien Condo list up to 54.
  12. Which is correct, if utterly ridiculous and unacceptable.
  13. Last time I renewed in person at US Embassy in BKK was 2004. Back then, I retained my old passport until I returned to collect the new PP. At that time, they cancelled the old. Do you, or anyone, know if this is still the case?
  14. Already (in this very thread) quoted both British and Irish passport services from their website. The info I provided in my last post was specifically about USA passport service and is the exact response...verbatim, copied and pasted...I received yesterday from Key Visa.
  15. Emailed Key Visa and asked about USA Passport Service. Below is the response... This is correct the cost is 10,000 bht including passport We need only passport and 2 x pics 2" x 2" white background Takes 3 weeks total
  16. หางเครื่อง "Dancer" Think got it right this time.
