I'm assuming that the O/P is not a motorcyclist and therefore not very knowledgeable on these matters. My eyebrows raised somewhat when I read that.
-
Nonsense, he's a motorcyclist, with his own motorcycle and this is the motorcycle forum. And motorcycles are meant to to be ridden! Tell your pal to get out there and have some fun @dddave. You only live once, enjoy it while you can.

BMA to Implement Truck Weighing Tech After Road Collapse
Moonlover replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
If vehicles stick to the prescribed weight limits there should be no need to strengthen the roads. -
My wife and I went down to Sakon Nakhon for my annual extension 2 months ago and it was a breeze. in and out in 45 minutes. And cost me just 1,900 THB, less than the cost of the visa needed to enter Laos. From where do you get this notion of 'gestapo and their ruthless policies and procedures?' Nothing could be further from the truth. Personally I do not understand why anyone goes to all that trouble and considerable expense to avoid what a fairly simple procedure.

Wise (TransferWise) Verification

Where did you read that? -
The very first announcement, published on Sept 18th said the following: 'The program will begin January 1, 2024 and apply only to tax residents in Thailand meaning tourists and short term workers will be exempt. Also exempt will be those who have been taxed in a foreign country that has a standing Double Tax Agreement with Thailand'. Read the full article here and stop worrying about it @RubbaJohnny Thai government to tax all income from abroad for tax residents starting 2024

Was you closer to your Mother than your Dad?
Moonlover replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I must have been, I never knew my dad. Not even his name. -
There are at least 6 cats pushing up daises in our garden, 4 of them kittens that never made it to adulthood. (not by my hand I should add)From my observation a mother is lucky if even one makes it. I didn't invite or encourage any of these cats to inhabit our space, they were just opportunists looking for an easy life and I suspect that is the cat/man relationship that prevails here. I do not trust cats unless I know for sure that they have been socialized with humans at a young age. Feral cats will produce feral offspring as I discovered for myself when the first litter showed up. They could be quite vicious and I kept well clear of them.

Street food is nothing more or nothing less than Thai food served on the street. I'd have thought that was pretty obvious!

Thanks! My sentiments exactly.

So it's asking a bit much is it to suggest that 'the largest English publications in Thailand' be free of the rampant unchecked anti Thai racism that currently pervades it?
-
That's good to know George. I am one of those members who like to help out where I can by reporting such posts, especially those with anti Thai sentiments which I find abhorrent. But I sometime feel that I'm peeing into the wind when the same poster, has moved on to another topic and posts yet another anti Thai slur! Just like a subway graffiti writer. I have often wondered whether their behaviour does eventually get noticed. If it's not a 'trade secret' could you please explain what it takes to get these posters sanctioned?

Helmetless motorcycle rides in Thailand puts lives at risk
Moonlover replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
What a pathetic post. -
A very good post indeed. When I lived in Udon Thani I used to visit an ear clinic every 6 months to have my ears cleaned out. He used a miniature vacuum device to remove the wax my hearing was fine. I've since moved to Sakon Nakhon and I've tried in vane to find somewhere I can have this done. Not even the ENT specialist who has a private clinic in town has adequate syringing equipment, so I've had to resort to DIY methods which are not as effective.

You need to carry stuff (whatever that is) so what you really need is a motor scooter rather than a motorcycle. I'm pretty sure you will not be able to find a manual scooter. Gone are the days of those crappy manual gear change Vespas and the likes, they're all CVT 'twist and go' machines. We have 2, a Honda Click 125cc and a Yamaha Aerox 155cc. The latter is my baby and it's a dream to ride. I love it. And I am not, what was it you said? I've ridden and driven manual vehicles all my life and still can. I occasionally take a ride out on my wife's nephew's Yamaha R15, It's great fun to ride, but there's nowhere to store even a small bottle of water! If you need to lug 'stuff', overcome your prejudice's and go take a look at the modern range of scooters.

Thai hostages likely first to be released amid Gaza conflict
Moonlover replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don't think they were targeting Thais in particular. When they went into Israel they were intent on killing or kidnapping anyone they came across. To them the nationality was immaterial. If they were in those farms and villages to them, in their wholly distorted world view, they were the enemy. -
Yes you really do have limited medical knowledge don't you. The urethra is the pathway for both urine and semen. An important (but not the only) function of the prostate is to stop urine from flowing during ejaculation. I'm not a biologist so I don't exactly know what the consequences would be if the two did mix, but I wouldn't think it would be very conducive to conception. Do you?

Met my Thai wife in Egypt where she was working as a (genuine) masseuse and I was working a semi retired SCUBA dive guide. When things started to heat up in Egypt, to due the Arab spring and its consequences we decided that Thailand was a sensible alternative. She had a house here anyway, so it was a no brainer.

It's not just about prospects, it's about economics. They pull good salaries there of 40,000 TBH per month and more. But they are also behooved to the agents that got them there in the first place and if they cut and run they risk breaking their contracts and losing a lot of money. In those circumstances, I think I'd stick it out as well. Besides, they have all been moved away from the danger zone, which is mainly down south in the Negev, so they are probably not in any great danger. -
I suspect that the evolutionary process (not the fictitious god) actually got it right at the time. As it did with most other male mammals including dogs, cats, and rats for instance, who all have prostates. What the evolutionary process has still not caught up with is the fact that we now live much longer than we used to in the old days. Back then BPH would not have been an issue because most of us would have died off before its effects became apparent. Living longer does have its drawbacks unfortunately. (unless you're a urologist of course)

Stop over thinking and just reregister using a driving license or pink card. (I forget the other options) It's easy peasy. Visit this thread and ignore all the naysayers. Plenty of tips to help you get going again.
