If one can not handle the annual issues with immigration then they definitely won't qualify for the LTR. You still need health insurance and true proof of pension income. Something you say folks don't have so they use an agent and obtai the extensions illegally, according to your prior posts, or am I misreading the prior posts you authored.

What are you talking about? I easily handle the every year retirement extension by myself and so do others. This LTR for a wealthy pensioner ticks all of the boxes including the reentry permit and at the end of the day I get 10 years of a ME style visa, plus only need to report to immigration once a year instead of every 90 days, and I can use my 800k in the bank elsewhere. Is this so hard to understand. The 50k for 10 years is less than 10 years of annual extension fees, all of the banking paperwork costs, and the ME reentry permit fees....... So tell me how a wealthy pensioner who lives here already would not live this LTR as now that travel has reopened almost everywhere its great.

And foreigners can own a business, work and own a home and land in the US all with just a green card, which can be obtained as a worker first sponsored by a company. After 5 years they can apply for citizenship through naturalization....so what's your point, oh moving as a retiree.....got it.

Checked into the Centara Grand in Hua Hin with my Thai DL this week. GF did not have her passport as it's being renewed, so she just showed a copy from her phone and the check-in lady took a photo of the screen.

A pension is a guaranteed amount, well at least mine is as a defined benefit lifetime pension which will never decrease and only increase with COLA increases. My investments are totally separate from this pension which in itself is more than 80k USD a year. I guess I was lucky in my choice of a career.

Where are the missing documents....this is a disaster of epic proportions, whatever they were on as far as classified material goes means lives are possibly now in danger....

My Amex High Yield savings where I pulled it from 3 years ago for the initial extension of stay based on my O-A visa is currently at 1.75%, while I have a 1 year CD with my CU making 2.6%....so 22k USD will make more than my Kbank FD account has been. Plenty of funds in my Stock portfolios, and elsewhere in 3 rental houses, no Thai relatives except my half Thai daughter who lives with her mother in the US and a stepfather who is adopting her, and I have no issues with that.

It is why I applied, to free up the 800k held hostage for 3 years and only earning 7k in interest over that period...sad.

I believe your right as far as canabalizing other Visas. I am jumping from the O-A Visa extension I have used for the past 3 years. It frees up the 800k I have tied up in a fixed deposit account which can be reinvested elsewhere.

Again it is a visa for those that can qualify, and if I were to travel in and out once a year using my current retirement extension sion that's 2900 thb a year plus misc. Fees. In the end this 10 year visa allows multiple ins and outs and runs almost the same if you were to get a ME reentry permit yearly, minus having to keep 800k on the bank.
