Had my meagre frozen pension stopped this month because I have not sent my Life Cert to the DWP! Have responded twice before in previous years at some cost but this time I haven't received anything from the DWP. Tried ringing them but phone always busy. Used their query email and they did email blank forms. Completed them and emailed them back and got a shouty reply accusing me of trying to jump the queue. Have EMSd the forms back but as I have not moved for 10yrs this is clear maladministration! My other pension providers managed to mail me and accepted emailed replies. Particularly galling when UK (and Phillipine and USA expats) have just had their base pension increased to 2000gbp per mth compared to my frozen 800k

Just been to Bangkok Bank and had my photo taken apparently for transfers over 50k. Now have to go to Krungsri to do the same. My Thai wife has 4 accounts with Thai banks and hasn't been notified by any of them. My UK bank has also suggested I use facial recognition. Krungsri says I need to do this before next mth. Does anyone know why they are doing this and if we will still receive OTPs or SMSs as before? And of course why Thai's are exempt?

Just done my 90 day today. No reminder sent but I have it in my calendar. As usual had problem finding the site but once in they accepted the notification immediately and 1hr later approved it (Jomtien)

Yes not so many. My dog ignores them and 1 gecko comes out to feed when I feed the dog looking at me expectantly until I give him some dog food

I have used the Thai Living Law office on Thappraya Rd in Jomtien for 1000bht Having had my pension stopped and getting engaged all the time on their phone I used the query form on the International Pension Centre website of the DWP and they kindly emailed a blank form. I think they realise that all the industrial action in the UK is delaying post as I haven't changed my address for 10yrs and have done at least 3 POLs before

I last returned mine using Thai track and trace which worked up until a UK Post Office collection box

Haven't received anything from the DWP but they stopped payments on the 16 May. Have done this twice before and used the living law centre jomtien who are notaries. Normally 1 mth from UK and 1 mth back so no chance of 16 day response Been emailing and ringing DWP everyday. Phone busy and no response to email! Does anyone have a blank copy of the DWP form?

Problem with Grab is that food deliveries are subject to the whim of the drivers with no guarantee of getting your selection. Rain, distance, multiple deliveries, holidays, value of order, festivals and many other distractions get in the way making for a lottery on whether you will actually eat! Even reordering 3or4 times doesn't always work! And Thais get very ratty if their food isn't delivered immediately!

It is legal. IO exercising their legal discretion. Also use of agent is needed for those of us who have age related mobility problems

Just had a scare on my BB mbanking app Wouldn't let me in due to 'system detect accessibility service' being on. No idea what this was so reloaded app but got the same problem. Checked Google but got a lot of app writers indecipherable jargon. Went into phone settings and turned off everything in 'accessibility' including Norton. Reloaded app again and miraculously got access. Had to reset account but it's working again. Fortunately I also use Ibanking so I wouldn't be shut out completely if mbanking failed again. Hope this helps anyone getting the same problem

I have a Wise bank account with UK sort code in the event of my UK bank closing my account but could only get a debit card by using a family address in the UK. Haven't had to use it yet but Wise make so much money from my FX transfers they will keep it open. If my UK bank wanted to check they would easily trace my activity with Wise but they don't seem to mind and with online banking I check my UK accounts most days. Would be a real pain to change my account details with 4 pension providers! Making us jump through hoops when UK banks make it easy for Oligarchs and Tory MPs including the PM and Chancellor to happily operate Off Shore accounts shows the double standards of the haves over the have not. And don't start me on Frozen Pensions!

The 2008 financial crisis was started by US banks irresponsible lending so this is nothing new.

Wise are regulated in the UK like all other financial institutions including all banks. I have found their call centre staff to be very helpful. Alarmist commentaries can mislead!

I keep all my cards frozen and unfreeze when I want to use. Especially when a replacement is in the post! I also use a CC for on line transactions as they have a verification procedure

Further update on Fascino wch. Went to collect 'repaired'chair today. It's worse than before with a distinct knock on the l/h wheel whereas before it was a slight rubbing sound. It's rated for 100kg but even when the assistant at Fascino who must be closer to 50kg there was still a distinct knock. Sent a Video to the supplier and asked them to change the l/h wheel. They had the cheek to ask us to send it to them but we left it with Fascino to sort that out. Guess we will have to wait another month to see what happens. Thai propensity to ask for payment up front and not accept responsibility for goods supplied causes this problem. 100kg chair is same as 80kg chair but wider not stronger. Asked Fascino to change the whole chair but they said they only act as go between.

The only thing they can do is to fund farmers cooperative ownership of harvesting and bailing machinery. When I first visited Thailand rice was harvested by hand but now rice farmers use machines. The same is possible for sugar cane but the processors prefer burnt cane as this accelerates sugar and mollases production and harvesters prefer burnt cane as its easier to cut by hand. Processing companies should be made to inventivise the collection of unburnt cane using crushed pulp to fire their boilers and harvesters should have access to bailing machines. It worked with rice and will work with sugar cane.
