  1. Entirely up to the restaurant to charge whatever they want. If you don't approve, or it's more than you can afford, go somewhere else.
  2. These preparations for a post-election Trump presidency are an indication of his team's confidence of a win on November 5. I wonder if they are getting ahead of themselves, however every a-political source I talk with is forecasting a big win for Trump.
  3. Olson-Kennedy should face serious charges of endangerment, and be struck off without delay.
  4. Khan, Abbott, the BBC and Sky, and many others, owe apologies all round, especially to the officer accused of murder who is now the target of gangsters for the rest of his life. Utterly disgraceful.
  5. Entirely agree. Endless, ignorant comments made on here regarding cannabis which does indeed promote calm, not aggression.
  6. I remember about 40 years ago in Taiwan black became popular for no particular reason other than fashion.
  7. Also there should be a clear 'Don't Agree' emoji.
  8. Another case of appalling behaviour by a fellow Brit. Cheap flights to blame.
  9. Most people refer to her as coloured, not that it matters. By all current accounts she's now way behind Trump in voting intentions.
  10. I wonder how long have you have lived in Thailand.
  11. First time I've disagreed with Braverman. Fact is Jenrick voted against leaving the EU, no matter what he is now choosing to say. Kemi Badenoch is a true Tory believer. Jenrick is just another faceless, ieft-leaning waste of time, with a charisma by-pass. It will be interesting to see how Tory members vote on this.
  12. The majority of Hitler's generals remained loyal to him through to, and after, their defeat. However, anyone who believes anything said by Kelly and Goldberg is kidding themselves. A pair of proven liars, now joined by Harris.
  13. Nonsense. The 'royalist military establishment' in no way depends on Thaksin to maintain it's influence within government. They want Thaksin gone, period.
  14. 'Disgusting' ? Revolting, in my opinion...
  15. However, in this case, I hope my fellow Brit is fined, jailed, and ultimately deported never to return. People behaving like this damage the reputation of the rest of us living in or visiting Thailand.
  16. Given the latest polls you will have to wait a while for this to happen, if ever...
  17. Corrupt and lying pot calling the kettle black..
  18. Back in the mid to early 1960s American soldiers, well-behaved and polite, began to arrive in Pattaya, and in Bangkok and some other cities. They joined the well-to-do foreigners who were resident or visiting, and who could afford the costs involved in travelling to Thailand. Then cheap flights emerged, and everything changed. Shabby, I'll mannered foreigners began to arrive in great numbers. The older foreigners, who were already in the country. wanted nothing to do with them. To this day that still applies, and not only in Pattaya.
  19. I repeat, it was foreign (American) lawyers who suggested to the Thai authorities that taxing remissions from abroad would help to reduce the Thai govt's deficit.
  20. Further, and slightly contradictory, it is foreign tax lawyers who have tried to sell the idea, to the Thai authorities, of taxing remissions from abroad. They are, basically. grubbing around for business. They are not on the side of those of us who live in Thailand. Never forget that.
  21. Thank you for this sensible and balanced advice. Way too much uninformed noise and chatter on this subject.
