    Ever since flights became cheaper in the late 1990's the behaviour of Brits visiting Thailand has become noticeably worse.

    As a Brit I too am very grateful to have been able to live happily in Thailand for many years. The UK is, sadly, no longer the country I once knew and loved.

    Not strange. People tend to wear masks more indoors than outdoors. Theory is that germs spread more easily in confined spaces.

    Those most strongly opposed to the easing of restrictions on cannabis use are the Thai producers/importers of alcohol and cigarettes who care very little about the social fabric and Thai core values. Your comments are, to put it mildly, naive.

    Not only the foreign vote. Many, many Thais now have an interest, one way or another, in the cannabis business.

    It will be interesting to see how things pan out from here. Surely going to be difficult for Trump to get nominated by the GOP now, but he's the kind of guy who can never be ruled out.

    50 years ago there were quite a few naked Thai and foreign women on certain beaches. All stopped as the prudes and killjoys gradually took over, not only in Thailand, but in most western countries as well.

    If you mean cannabis it encourages peace and quiet as opposed to alcohol which encourages aggression and noise.

    40 years with my Thai partner, married for 33 of those years. I'm now 81, she's 66. Still very happy and active together and, most importantly, we are, and always have been, very good friends.

    Best to check the odds being offered by bookmakers, not the polls. They are giving Trump a 50/50 chance of winning the presidential election if he is nominated by the Republican party.

    Thai banks definitely not immune, just as they were not immune in 1997/8 and 2008.

    In over 40 years I've been seriously conned once, in a business deal which, in hindsight, I was stupid to get involved in. However, foreigners being charged more than Thais for taxis, entry fees, accomodation etc etc has never bothered me. Only small money, not worth worrying about.

    No need to restrict yourself to 7 elevens. You can buy beer pretty much anywhere in southern Thailand, in shops, in markets, in hotels, in bars, in convenience stores etc etc...

    I agree. Bang Kaews are the best guard dogs I have ever had. You need to be a bit careful when friends visit. Bang Kaews don't like people they don't know. If you, sadly, don't like dogs consider geese. They make one hell of a noise when strangers appear.
