'Tarnishing Pattaya's image as a beloved tourist hub' says the report. In that context there are far worse things going on in Pattaya tarnishing it's image than 'phone gambling. Just for openers how about brutal attacks on foreigners, freelancers on every street corner, and theft ?

Well, your sense of moral superiority is quite something to behold. Fact is, love him or loathe him, Musk has already achieved more in life than most of us could ever hope for. I'll give him credit for that.

Whether he/she likes to admit it or not he/she has been born into a world of wealth and privilege that very few people will ever experience. Were it not for that I doubt he/she would be able to attract any attention or interest.

This sounds like a fake story. However, people like 'Douglas', wandering about in the dead of night after a few drinks, need to keep their wits about them in entertainment areas, and not only in Thailand.

Touring around east Asia I first arrived in Thailand in 1962 aged 21. On the downside shocked to see people alleging to be Buddhist killing and eating animals. On the upside, friendliness, charm and fun aplenty everywhere. Now 40 years happily married to my Thai wife and living in Thailand, I find the upsides still outweigh the downsides.

Doesn't bother me. I've seen far worse in other countries.
