    As I posted yesterday it is a mystery to me why Kamala has appointed as her running mate a guy who departed from his unit in the military immediately prior to its' posting for service in the Vietnam war, and who has legislated for tampons to be made available in mens' toilets in his home state.

    I have no idea whether or not we are experiencing accelerated climate change as a result of human activity. All I can say is today, at Ratchayothin in Bangkok, at 1300hrs, it's damned hot.

    Well into my 80s, none of this has ever bothered me.

    Have had cats, and dogs and horses, all of my life. Love cats to bits. Currently 2 at the townhouse in Bangkok and 8 at our place in Rayong. Some sleep with us, eat near to us, and generally share our space. At 83 I've yet to get sick as a result of their presence.

    The problem fof Thai people is the memory of those brutally killed in the 1970s/90s when they tried to openly protest against ruling governments. Many of the 14m will have lost family and friends in those days.

    The Pheu Thai party is rightly very concerned about the effect that the proposal would have on 'Thai culture and tradition'. As is well known there is no prostititution in Thailand, or any other form of sexual activity.

    Thailand has historically tried, and largely succeeded, to avoid being beholden to any one major power. Sad to see so many Thai government officials now being subservient to the Chinese.
