Bangkok Streets to Undergo Significant Improvements
Thingamabob replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
This has been promised by various governors over the last 50 years plus. All that ever happens is a few metres of pavement in the Sukhumvit area are renovated in front of media reporters/cameras. After that, nothing. -
Minister Pushes for Bangkok F1 Race Plan with 2024 Deadline
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Motor racing is popular in Thailand and a GP here would attract great support. The problem, though, is both the cost of setting up such an event. and the tough rules and regulations which have to be applied. A street circuit would help to reduce the cost issue, but it would mean chaos for at least a month in the pre and post work, and F1 really doesn't need another street circuit. Buri Ram is a conventional circuit, and just about works for Moto GP, but it would need a huge amount of upgrading to qualify for F1. All in all a nice idea but not practical in my opinion. -
Have a nice day.

I'm also British, and I agree with you when you write that you probably should keep out of this discussion.

Whatever it's problems the fact is that Russia is armed with a huge arsenal of nuclear weaponry. The western alliance will have to come to an agreement with Russia regarding Ukraine. Control of the areas of eastern Ukraine populated by the Russian speaking people of Russian origin will have to be ceded to Russia. There is no way to avoid this inevitable outcome to current hostilities.

Harris Gains Momentum in Economic Debate, Closing in on Trump
Thingamabob replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Journalists are paid to fill news space with this kind of article. In fact it is far from clear which of Harris or Trump is the favourite to win on November 5. -
Fatal Dog Attacks in Thailand Prompt Legal Reevaluation
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Laws on this issue can be made stricter but, as with all laws in Thailand, and many other countries, will not be enforced. -
Better to have this debate after November 5. No clear favourite at present. Could go either way.

In Haiti as in, inter-alia, Korea, China and Vietnam, cats and dogs are regularly eaten. I doubt the majority of Americans would go along with that.

Kemi Badenoch on Immigration: 'Not All Cultures Are Equal'
Thingamabob replied to Social Media's topic in World News
The Thai government refers to me as a non-immigrant and requires me to apply to extend my non- immigrant visa on an annual basis. In my opinion the UK should have applied a similar system many years ago. -

Man Dies After Attack by Mixed-Breed Stray Dogs in Ubon Ratchathani
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I repeat. this is a highly unlikely story. The deceased was killed in his home. The police, whom I suspect know more about this sad event than they are admitting to. went out and found two dogs on the street and announced that they were the killers. Highly unlikely. or to put it more accurately. total BS. -
Man Dies After Attack by Mixed-Breed Stray Dogs in Ubon Ratchathani
Thingamabob replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I'm here, and I do not believe this man was killed by stray dogs in his own home. Foul play far more likely. -
