  1. It had a photograph embossed and the disabled logo in a hologram on the front, and an expiry date of the card. You don't need to read English to see what it was, and it isn't beyond me to translate to them in Thai the purpose of the card.
  2. I took documents and proof from the UK and it is visible disability.
  3. They couldn't wait to get back to their sandwiches! And I am not joking. You would think I had just arrived at Earth, and five of them moved forward, listening intently, so they could catch the reason as to why I was actually there.
  4. I trotted off today to get the tax number that all and sundry on here talk about incessantly like the end of the world is coming. First stop tax office. They had misplaced the necessary forms that needed filling out, or somebody had taken them home, and even then were unsure if they were the right ones. They messed about with the pink card and the computer, but didn't really know what they were doing, and then announced they had only one other foreigner who had reported to them, and he was running a farm! If you aren't working in Thailand, what are you doing here. We'll take your phone number, in a classic ' Don't call us, we'll call you ' scenario. Next stop local government office. "I've come to get the document that says I am below 65 and disabled, so I can present it to the tax office." We only do disabled cards for Thais. "Yes, but new rules have come in, and I must, as a foreigner, show myself to you and provide evidence I am disabled, and you will issue me with a disabled certificate " No can do, try the hospital. We haven't been told about any new rules. OK, thanks everybody for your help and guidance. Bye. And that was it. Maybe, better luck next year when Bangkok tells these offices upcountry what the new rules are that they expect us to be adhering to.
  5. I agree, But I think it includes companies registered in Thailand and Pacific Cross is. Assessable income, well we are back on with the ongoing debate of is it or isn't it. I transer savings and some rents I get, but how do I prove savings and the UK government make agents deduct tax on rental income for HMRC when it comes in to them.
  6. That's what they meant. But you have to give Immigration the credit and not let the truth get in the way of a good story.
  7. Yes, if 65 or over or disabled and under 65.
  8. No, I already allowed that. 60K personal allowance + 150k (0 -150K Non taxable) + 25k health insurance = 235K 780k - 235k= 545k taxable.
  9. Nope, They place them in immigration holding, which is not a nice place, and they stay there until they acquire the funds to buy their own ticket home. If they wait for Embassies, it's a very long time after all options such as family etc. have been exhausted.
  10. Makes for extremely sad reading, and so does constant references to him being British being banded about, as though pedophilia was the exclusive domain of British people, which it certainly is not. If British law enforcement has been in touch with the RTP, the evidence will be pretty solid, they don't leave things like this to chance or possible error.
  11. As DrJack24 says, they lock it for three months after granting your extension, it is ridiculous really when they are saying they believe 800K is what somebody needs to look after themselves for a year. Then, they are blocking the full 800K for three months, and 400K permanently, as they say it mustn't dip below that at any time. Not same with a DTV visa, weird?... Yes, it is. Also, under the 65k a month method, that equates to 780K a year, with your single man's allowance under the new taxation system at 60K plus 150K, for a single man. You can claim 25K for health insurance. The rest being 545K, subject to differing levels of taxation.
  12. I will keep you informed as promised about how I get on early January with DTV application in Cambodia.
  13. You mean illegals exploiting legal loopholes represented by greedy, slimy lawyers at taxpayer expense. Anyway, the faster they fast track these bogus applications and deport, the better for the UK.
  14. Well said that man. The UK doesn't want him now, he's damaged Queen Elizabeth's legacy enough.
  15. Absolutely spot on. I don't know how others here can speak differently.
  16. No they don't, Anybody bypassing the immigration entry to any country is there illegally and should be removed. Absolutely no way is anybody entering by boat legal. Instead, we have smart ass lawyers in the UK who earn millions by exploiting the system and legal loopholes to keep these people in the UK.
  17. Absolutely, As a self-employed businessman for many years, I really am in awe at the waste they allow and just kick the can of blame down the road for the next government. This is what happens when laymen and women get put in positions of power that they are not qualified to do. Shameful, the incredible waste that goes on in the UK.
  18. You got nothing better to do than grammar policing?
  19. I think there were a lot more in the closet back then.
  20. Medical. I need a medical procedure every four months and this must be performed by an ENT specialist. This procedure must be done for life.
  21. Glad to see not a Brit in sight. The usual keyboard warriors won't be clacking about us tonight.
  22. I will let you know the outcome of both the January application and the re-entry if all goes smooth. I am really focussed on getting the application right. Likewise, I have just had a friend apply in the UK for DTV, they have asked him for a lot more information, including, Flight bookings, companies house records, salary records and proof he is a director. He differs from myself as he has applied for the DTV based on his company and his ability to work anywhere in the world, with a computer internet connection. Fortunately for him, he has all this information to hand.
  23. Yes, I thought that. But if I have the DTV, it would be better than risking the chance of my retirement extension having already expired, then being refused a DTV.
  24. My idea was to keep the DTV delivered by email unused, and hold it until the expiry of my retirement extension. My understanding is it only comes into force from the date it is first used, when granted. So , if it is dated January 2025 until January 2030, I will just lose the six months, using retirement extension until July 2025. I have multiple re-entry permit. That way, if I am granted the DTV, it can just take over in July from retirement extension Non-Imm O. That is, if my thinking is correct. What I am hoping to avoid is a load of additional clauses or changes that the government may bring in to the DTV, if they feel it isn't being used in the spirit it was granted. I was basing it on this:
