Makro vs GO Wholesale - What is your favourite?
Rimmer replied to CLW's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Getting no replies here, so I'll move the topic to the Pub where I am sure they will have a lot to say on this important topic. 🙂 I actually prefer GO Wholesale, better layout and better parking having said that we regularly go to both on the same shopping trip looking for the best freshest product and value. -

Stainless Steel Benches in Lumpini Park Raise Safety Concerns
Rimmer replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
My Bank has several steps up to the door, it also has a stainless steel hand rail at the side. Even early morning the hand rail is way too hot to touch, if someone could touch it and continue to hold on to it would result in serious burns on the hand, dunno what it would do to someone sitting on stainless steel...... A stainless top has been fabricated and fitted over the normal cheap concrete benches and tables you see around town, the height of those seating benches is only 17" the standard height for something like a picnic bench bench is 19 " We have two of these sets in the garden, they are too low to sit on and a struggle to get up from. -

Rimmer replied to giddyup's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A long long time ago and only the once. I think the photocopy of the ID of the person in the house book and copy of said house book is sufficient assuming its the same one as before. -

Ultralight Drone Hunting Planes Now In Use In Ukraine A video that appeared recently shows the drone-hunting ultralight carrying out a training mission, intercepting a small fixed-wing UAV used as a target. The sharpshooter is seated on the left, side-by-side with the pilot, and takes aim as the aircraft is maneuvered into position with the drone off its left wing. At the end of the video, the drone has been successfully hit and tumbles toward the ground as the pilot and gunner congratulate each other with a high-five. According to the Ukrainian journalist Roman Bochkala, the idea behind putting a sharpshooter in an ultralight came from the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (GUR); we have reached out to the organization for confirmation. On his Telegram channel, Bochkala also reports that the aircraft in question was purchased using $35,000 donated by volunteers. Frustrated by Japan’s same-sex marriage ban, LGBTQ couples opt for ‘photo weddings’ A transgender couple hiding their faces with a bouquet as they pose for their wedding photos at Onestyle’s studio in Tokyo. PHOTO: REUTERS TOKYO – Unable to get married legally in Japan, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) couples are celebrating their special bond by donning traditional kimonos and fashionable formal wear for elaborate “photo weddings”. But these carefully choreographed images are often kept hidden in this conservative society, where many LGBTQ people say they face prejudice and stigma, even from their own families. Retirement extension paperwork required?

Also see my own very recent very good experience at the new re vamped Jomtien Immigration dept: -
Yes they are the same, I always go to the photocopy office with everything and they do what is needed and check I filled the form out correctly. I edited my post above to include the new paper they give you about the conditions and penalties for staying in Thailand. My wife copied her ID for them as well, I think that's something to do with the house owner and the TM30

I just renewed my retirement extension 15 days early, it was due on the 18th 2024 it came back stamped with the same next renewal of 18th 2025. I believe you can renew 30 days in advance. Go to the new document checking area on the left with zig zag walkway tapes, no one else there. the girl checked all papers and copies in order and gave me a number. At this point they give you a new paper that I had not seen before, it covers the conditions and penalties of staying in the Kingdom, sit down outside on the bench outside and sign it, then go straight into the main office. Checked the number screens, number is up there so straight to the desk which is still in the same place. Four officers on duty now behind glass screens, all dressed in very smart blue shirts, I went to the first one on the left. Took him maybe 10 minutes to sort through everything and hand me a plastic number to pick up the next day. Total time from walking in to walking out maybe 15 minutes only, very impressed with what they have done, its almost a pleasure to go there now. Hope this helps you 🙂
