  1. At that time, it had all the appearance of a Russian disinformation: an unbelievable story (a laptop forgotten in a repair shop owned by a right wing guy), Giuliani as a messenger (with a track record of propagating Russian disinformation), and the information only given to the NYPost. As soon as the other media got a copy (ex WaPo), they inspected it and reported about it.
  2. Yet, this tiny issue the the only thing the right wing has been showing against Joe for two years. In particular the NYPost, which has received the content of the laptop from the start, and had far enough time to find something new.
  3. Hunter Biden is currently being investigated (by a Republican). It started during Trumps mandate and has not been halted by the Biden administration. Already investigated + private citizen having no business with the government. It doesn't justify a House investigation. It's a witch Hunt.
  4. The media didn't get a copy and it stinker disinformation. ÷ still there isn't much about Joe. Just that it was suggested he may become shareholder of a JV, which he didn't anyway.
  5. Of course, no link to the poll's details..... However, one obvious clue of bias: "Nearly four of five Americans who’ve been following the Hunter Biden laptop scandal,,,"
  6. Well, if Giuliani had initially provided the files to all media, instead of only to the infamous NYPost, they could have been checked earlier.
  7. My first post was a reply to another poster claiming they were banned. Nothing prevents "Britain" from importing whatever it wants. Actually, It's not Britain, which makes this decision of importing this or that, It's a large number of wholesalers and retailers. When they order a box of bananas at a given price, they want to know what they will get. That's why the industry asked the EC to define standards. If a supermarket wants perfect shaped bananas, it knows it needs to order extra class. If it cares less about defects of shape than price, it can order cheaper class 2 bananas. Simple, clear and fast choices, That's the role of standards, to make life more simple and predictable. The reality of business is far different from the Brexiteers' fantasies.
  8. You may be right. Actually, it may be a better deal to buy cat.2 bananas, which probably have the same taste and are cheaper. Anyway, my point was that they were not banned, contrary to what the Brexiteers' propaganda claimed.
  9. When supreme court judges are appointed according to their strong political and religious orientation, It's obvious that the system is rotten.
  10. Anti-LGBTQ sentiment in Colorado Springs had some in the community anticipating tragedy About someone's idol: "Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert, a Republican, who called the shooting Saturday “absolutely awful,” has made anti-LGBTQ policies a part of her platform. She opposes marriage equality and introduced legislation that would ban gender-affirming treatments for transgender youth. A report earlier this year cited Boebert along with nine other politicians as driving rhetoric implying that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people are “grooming” children." https://news.yahoo.com/anti-lgbtq-sentiment-colorado-springs-032010723.html
  11. It should be noted that, starting with Thatcher, the position of the UK has always been to push for the adhesion of Eastern Europe countries. One reason, among others, was to counter-balance the influence of France and Germany. Blair accelerated the process, and in particular, decided to allow free entry to UK for Eastern Europe people, even before the mandated date defined by the EU.
  12. Another fake news from the Brexiteers. The so-called bent bananas have not been banned, they have been classified as cat.2. This has been done at the request of professional organisations, who wanted clear criteria to distinguish between premium quality bananas and other categories, so that consumers would be be offered clear choices. ???? It is not uncommon for fruits and vegetables to be classified into different categories.
  13. Trump had the right to declare a state of emergency and call the national guard. If needed, insurrection act art 252 and 253.
  14. @Sparktrader Why should the number of deaths be the only criteria to assess the importance of this event? Because you have decided so?
  15. From what I understand from the OSCE report, there have been violations on both sides.
  16. The text of a treaty doesn't come out of nowhere. The main actor is the Council of elected governments. It is elaborated by the Council based on consensus, usually during conventions, then during an intergovernmental conference. The ratification is just a formal procedure, the government's of member states have elaborated it and approved it before. https://www.consilium.europa.eu/en/documents-publications/intergovernmental-conferences/
  17. For how many months?
  18. This is becoming ridiculous....
  19. Right. But It's certainly not detrimental to those who do everything they can to delay it.
  20. It has not been particularly claimed the Twitter pool was fraudulent. It has been claimed that there have been no standards and procedures in place to guarantee the validity of the Twitter poll. In election polls, there are standards and procedures to guarantee the validity of the vote. So unless a proof of fraud is found, or an evidence that the procedure has not been properly folloed, the results can be trusted. In a survey, there is a procedure (methodology) to guarantee the validity (with a calculated margin of error). In a Twitter poll, there is none of these. There is no procedure to control "votes" (even Musk stated bots may have voted, multiple accounts are possible, etc...), so it's impossible to guarantee there was no fraud. It's not about suspecting fraud, It's about a system which cannot be trusted. There is also no methodology implemented to guarantee the de facto "sample" of respondents is representative of Twitter users. So, in brief, because of the absence of standards and procedures, it cannot be trusted for not being fraudulent, and it cannot be trusted for representing the user base of Twitter. Trump may or may not have "won", there is no way to know.
  21. Now you consider Twitter polls as equivalent to election polls! What about this one? ???? https://www.surveyeah.com/en/poll/mickey-mouse-or-donald-duck/
  22. It's interesting how some posters feel the need to derail this thread into a "lazy woke people" thread. ???? I understand, It's not like these "woke" people would have been at the origin of, and responsible for the success of Apple, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Airbnb, Oracle, Sun, the numerous Silicon Valley companies, etc..????
  23. Sorry, I may have misunderstood your post. I understood that, as there was only a remote possibility that it may occur, this scenario was not really worth a discussion.
  24. It's not me who evoked this scenario, It's your mate riclag. You know, the post you marked with a "thanks" emoticon.
  25. I doubt the pro-Desantis, the Heritage Foundation network, the friends of Murdoch, and the few ones who have been against Trump from Jan. 6 will hurry to hinder the investigation. On top of it, due to the short GOP majority, only 5 or 6 defections will be enough to fail any GOP initiative.
