  1. The normal immigration zones 1 and 3 have Priority lanes for Business and First Class passengers.
  2. Thats awful... where will the motorcyclists ride now ?
  3. I just completed this quiz. My Score 90/100 My Time 118 seconds
  4. They're not illegal on the pavement - but authorities have failed in their duty to keep the pavements clear. Thus, they have no choice but to use the roads... besides, I agree that they should be taxed and insured - which I'm sure is a matter of time and there will be an option to tax and insure them within the next few years. When they are taxed and insured - what will be your complaint against elderly foreigner travelling on mobility scooters then ??... that they have made you 5mins late somewhere ?
  5. The 'One thing' that annoys me most about my Wife (Thai): Lazy verbal communication. Her English is near perfect, she well educated, British accent etc... But when she speaks to me its as if she's jumped straight into the middle of a conversation I fully understand !!!... ... We'll be talking about something... i.e. Traffic Jam's at school in the first week of the school year... then she'll state.. "so they're coming at 9:30am".... I'm thinking - WT.F ??... school starts at 9:30am now ?... or who's coming... I'll ask... "Is someone coming to school ?? - who ?... " She... "no, why do you think someone is coming to school".. ... "You said so"... "No I didn't"... ... "OK... so what about 9:30am ? school starts at 9:30am in the first week or something?" "No.. why do you think that"... ... "You said something about 9:30am when we were talking about school"... "No I didn't"... ... "Oh... OK... I must have miss-heard you".... Next day: I'm surprised by Air-con repair men turning up in the morning... ... I ask "when you did you arrange that ?" "Yesterday, I told you about it" ... "did you ?" "Yes, I mentioned they were coming at 9:30am"... Ahh... now I get it, after putting two and two together.....
  6. .... And how many policemen did the Chinese Tourist ride past ????... I'm betting at least 10 and none of them could be bothered to do anything about it... But, as the video has been doing the rounds on social medial for the past 5 days, they [the Police] are then forced to 'spew out their sanctimony'..... ... Yes, of course this is illegal, but the bigger issue is that she was placing herself in great danger, the police could have acted in the interests of the public safety (in this case the individuals safety) and protected her from her own stupidity... Would this individual (woman riding a suit case) have ever attempted to do this in Singapore or Dubai ???... the obvious answer is no, and if she did attempt it, she'd be stopped quickly.
  7. I've had my AC on all day - should I be worried that the authorities are going to raid my house ? Is using a lot of electricity a crime here ? Is mining of bitcoin a crime here ? The owner was clearly tipped off - but just a little too late !!
  8. I read that too... 'some' airlines and airports have banned them. This girl is obviously a bit daft - riding her suitcase like that is rather stupid... she was a trapped wheel away from falling under the wheels of a passing car or bus. Whats so hard about getting taxi ???
  9. So many vehicles on the road not taxed... look at all the push food carts etc / motorcycle food carts etc... It would be a good idea to tax and insure these vehicles - if using the pavement or roads becasue there is a risk they could ride into someone / something and cause harm that requires medical treatment or property damage. But - why are some only picking picking only on foreigners in a mobility cart / trike - when there are all the other vehicles that present the same issues ?
  10. C'mon... you know those small wheels are incapable of rolling down Bangkok's broken obstacle strewn foot paths...
  11. Wrong character - this megalomanic is most certainly playing the part of Geppetto...
  12. Indeed... I'm not sure I've ever seen that extent of damage - car ripped in two with both halves 50m apart... ... the driver must have been going at an insane speed - luckily he managed not to kill any innocent others.
  13. I just completed this quiz. My Score 90/100 My Time 178 seconds
  14. I thought the same then remembered I'm married...
  15. One of the answers is incorrect.. Which layer of the Earth is believed to be made up of molten rock? The Mantle is Solid. The Core (outer) is made up of Molten Rock.
  16. I just completed this quiz. My Score 85/100 My Time 122 seconds
  17. It took me 3 attempts with Bolt, no joy... 2 Attempts with InDrive, no Joy and finally 3 attempts with GRAB to get a taxi last night. I live in a MooBaan down a Soi... so there are no passing taxi's and its a long walk to the main road... So I wanted to 'order a GRAB taxi... When the a GRAB driver accepted the ride on the 3rd attempt he didn't move for 10 mins... (the area is a very clear area of road) down a sub-soi... I have a strong suspicioun the driver accepted the ride, then carried on merrily eating his meal before he decided to move... - A double issue there - either wait the 10mins for the driver to eat, or cancel because he showed no signs of moving and then go through the hassle of maybe / maybe not getting a GRAB... A number of years ago when it was UBER and GRAB the services were excellent - its now turned to shyte...
  18. And certainly explains your posts !!!
  19. I think the authors of the article in Loyalty Lobby have made a massive blunder... I flew into Suvarnbumi a few days ago and used the Fast Track / Priority lane as normal. Fast Track / Priority lane used with Thai Elite arrival service (for myself and family) - same as usual, no changes.
  20. Its actually 3.8km from the bridge to the intersection... ( the intersection on which the incident occurred was to the north of the Bridge ). As below - shows the 'bridge to intersection' - at the point of the intersection. And - 'bridge to intersection' - at the point of the Bridge. It can clearly be noted... the are no steep hills within at least 3.7km of the intersection. The driver of the 10 wheeled lorry (sorry, Gas Truck) was clearly lying (as can be expected).
  21. The design looks similar to any other junction in Thailand... Imagine they have similar accident rates - its down to the state of the drivers not wanting to stop for and speeding through red lights thats the issue. Of course.. he said he couldn't stop (and the reason he couldn't stop is because he was speeding - if his brakes had failed, his truck would have been 100's of meters down the road, not just 20m) I read here (Opening report) that the truck driver stated he couldn't stop. As you pointed out - other Thai sources word this differently - there are also numerous other sources or rather, regurgitated altered, dramatised news reports that have cherry picked some information and fabricated other information. You want a link that highlights the driver was speeding through an intersection and couldn't stop in time ??... Here it is >>>> https://aseannow.com/topic/1336019-teen-motorcyclist-dies-after-being-hit-by-truck-at-traffic-stop/page/2/#comment-19171132 (also quoted above). You have since argued that this translation is different from the Thai article you have read and seem to believe the Thai article is correct and any other article a fabrication or poor translation of the Thai Article... Possible, or your article is simply missing information picked up by other articles you have not since located. Either way - the drive was speeding and couldn't stop in time for a red like, resulting in the death of an innocent motorcyclist - If the driver wasn't speeding, he coujld have stopped in time. Another alliterative, he was drunk or on drugs and didn't care to stop... The driving implying brake failure is an obvious lie.
  22. I just completed this quiz. My Score 100/100 My Time 205 seconds
  23. I just completed this quiz. My Score 100/100 My Time 155 seconds
  24. I just completed this quiz. My Score 80/100 My Time 82 seconds
  25. How steep was this hill you keep mentioning ??? I don't see any hill in the photos... Below is the google Maps street view of the the road leading up to the incident (about 100m before hand) and the site of the accident... And again - IF the truck had brake failure - how was it able to stop 20m after impact ???? We know the real answer - but you want to protect the truck driver for some reason, even though its obvious he was speeding through the red lights at the junction, not paying attention, didn't see the motorcyclist and killed her with his carelessness... the truck driver was probably high on Yaba... just as bad as a drink driver. No hills... so this idea of a lorry (sorry Gas Tanker) careening down a hillside out of control is flawed... (what were you believing from the internet again ?) Google Maps Location:
