Immigration officer complaining about my visa exemption
Wish immigration thought of it like that. If they have proof positive someone does not work in Thailand, it does not change their behavior one bit. Au contraire.... permission of 'entry' is down to the discretion of the Immigration officer and also within a legal framework. An Expat showing proof that he has overseas work may be (I'd argue is likely to) sufficient evidence to allow them to use their discretion and accept that the returning expat is not working in Thailand. The Immigration officers are not terrible ogres... People / the general public can be rude arrogant pigs and I imagine spending hours a day dealing with arrivals must be a horrifically demoralising job.... Sometimes, we catch an Immigration officer on the wrong side of a mood-swing (they're just human)... AND.. IF an immigration officer is not 'playing ball' you can ask to see their supervisor there and then. In the past I have had issues on entry. Immigration wanted to stamp me in for the 1 day remaining on my Work Visa. I'd completed the contract while overseas and was no longer working in Thailand, but had one day remaining on my extension of stay (with Multi-rentry permit). Immigration officer stamped me in for one day which indicated that I'd have to fly out the following day and re-enter of my Elite Visa !!!... Of course, I argued and asked him to change the stamp and stamp me in on my Elite Visa. He wouldn't. I was polite, firm and stubborn and called over a supervisory officer, who sided with the younger Immigration officer. Still polite, still firm, still stubborn, I asked to see a 'more senior officer' as I wasn't happy to accept this decision. ... The senior supervisor came across and made an instant decision... with an "Of course you can enter on your Thai Elite Visa - only giving you one day would ridiculous" (or words to that effect). Thus: The junior officer at the desk does not have the final say and there can be dialogue especially IF a returning expect has proof that their 'reason to reject' may be based on flawed opinion or information that can easily be countered.

Titan sub implosion: What we know about catastrophic event
Two 'confused' emoticons... (so far) to your post... but you are correct. The 'implosion would have been followed by an instantaneous incineration of the (relatively) hydrocarbon rich atmosphere' this is calculated to be significantly faster (at 1 millisecond0 than the synapses in the brain can transmit sensory information (25 milliseconds).... So... unless there was some sort of warning, creaking etc alerting them to imminent catastrophic failure the 'event itself' would have been so instantaneous there was insufficient time for the brain to register the event - i.e. within a 'millisecond' the passengers of the Sub would have gone from being breathing humans to incinerated ash, dust and cell matter - they would not have known a thing about it (unless there were structural warnings of imminent failure). Hopefully that explains and educates the point for the two 'bright sparks' who posted 'confused emoji's' and perhaps struggled to comprehend the basics of the linked BBC article.

My son (Australian citizen / Thai born) entering Thailand on an Aussie passport?
A couple of issues: 1) Passsport Thai 2) Single Parent departing Thai Immigration with child without mothers permission. First hurdle is leaving Thailand on an Aussie Passport with no 'entry' stamp. That may raise flags and open further questions about permission to travel without the mother. To answer your question directly: After re-entering Thailand, your Son, as an Aussie citizen and no legal proof that he is a Thai Citizen would be on overstay (although theoretically children cannot be charged with overstay - it would get complicated). IMO: Best possible options: Seek legal advice to obtain a Thai Passport and sole custody for your Son. First question for this is: We're you married at the time of your Son's Birth, are you listed as the legal Parent (Father) on his Thai Birth Certificate ? Without sorting out these issues sooner, you are also going to face brick-walls down the line, regarding a Thai ID and future travel in and out.

BitKub verification mess
I'm not sure why each and every time there is a hurdle foreigners throw out the 'Thai's don't want us' (racism) card, thats rarely the case and we are just dealing with exactly the same (often silly) degree of bureaucracy that Thai's deal with daily (that said, sometime the answer really is a 'Thai's don't want to deal with foreigners' issue, but thats far more rare than we seem to read about on these forums). I went through BitKub's 'Periodic account verification' a few months back. I resubmitted the same documents as those with which I opened the account, also recall having to make a small video to send. I had no issues... Thus, IF you are facing issues, contact them and ask them the specifics of exactly what they need - it could be something as simple as a 'file size' limitation and a 'computer says no' response. Just to add: If they really didn't want foreigners, this <link below> wouldn't be in English !!!! https://support.bitkub.com/en/support/solutions/articles/151000033027

British Embassy Affirmation of Residence
There is a huge issue with responses such as this... . You miss out 'vital' information..... Which Embassy ????? [Edited: noted your Update]. For Example... the British Embassy are very clear that they no longer provide the Affirmation of Residence Document. The reason for this is that they are unable to confirm the proof of address. It seems lost on the British Embassy that the wording 'affirmation' which is not a confirmation, rather it is more of an understanding that something is true... i.e. in this case the declared address. As an earlier poster commented, it seems the British Embassy wish to distance itself as much as possoble from any interaction with the British Public overseas. That said: As you mentioned Sigma6 getting through on the Phone 'may' offer some help, or even making an appointment under 'mistaken' pretences could work. BUT... that said, IF you received the Affirmation of Residence document from the British Embassy in Bangkok, it was done so before an 'official policy cut off' to stop issuing said document or you were very lucky. I'd expect any appointment made under false pretences will see the 'applicant' turned away disappointed.

Schools
Please don't include me in your 'we'. Your English passport is in a 'non-English' language, the name on your DL is not in English ???
-
Schools
There may also be other facets to consider. By Law Thai Students (or students registered as Thai) have to study Thai for xx hrs per week, whereas there is no such requirement on non-Thai students - this impacts international schools who study in English (or a primary language other than Thai). Initially, we registered our Son has Thai and English and he was accepted into his School under the 'English quota' but still registered as Thai and English, until 'choice' of languages (learning modern foreign languages) became an issue. As he was registered as Thai (Thai and English) one of his 'choice' languages had to be Thai, so he could only study one other MFL. He wanted to study both Thai and Spanish but was only permitted one. Solution - We re-registered him as English only so that he was not forced to study Thai as one of his 'language choices'. Its an international school... so all classes are in English and the standard of Thai Language is by far 'sub-par' for his 'dual nationality status' as he is studying alongside 100% non-Thai children, thus the better option has always been to study extra curricular Thai outside of School. So... One of the reasons Passport Details 'may' be required is establish IF the child is 100% or fits another criteria for 'government stipulated language learning objectives'. We were fortunate that the school was flexible enough to allow the switch to 100% Non-Thai - my letter addressing the issue also dropped quite the hammer on the standards / level of the Thai Language education and that my son was getting nothing from it.

British Embassy Affirmation of Residence
Only with clear answers to the following question can solid advice be offered to the Op: 1) Which DLT are you attempting to renew at ? 2) In which City are you residing ? 3) Do you hold a Yellow Tabien Baan house book ? (Answer - YES). 4) Do you hold a Pink ID (Answer ?) 5 Have you stayed longer than 90 days (Answer: No) Example: IF You are in Bangkok... You will not be able to get a CoR from Immigration if you have not submitted a 90 day report, BUT, unless things have changed, you wont need to as the DLT in Area 3 (near Sukhumvit 99/1) do accept the Yellow Tabien Baan house book & Pink ID (or they did when I last renewed a couple of years ago).
-
British Embassy Affirmation of Residence
That also depeneds where you are.. i.e. which area DLT and which area Immigration office. Some Immigration offices will issue a Certificate of Address without the need for a 90 day report. (i.e. as I understand it from reports here, Chiang Mai amongst others will, however, at Chaeng Wattana Immigration they will not). Additionally so, some (many) DLT offices Will Accept the Yellow Housebook AND Pink ID card as proof of address, however, others will not (i.e. as I understand it, DLT's in Chonburi do not accept the Yellow house book whereas DLT Area 3 in Bangkok will). I renewed my DL & MCL a couple of years ago in Bangkok (DLT Area 3) they accepted the Yellow Book and seemed more concerned with taking copies of the Pink ID than the actual Yellow House Book... So, go with Both. As usual, experience varies from area to area and often officer to officer which creates so much of the uncertainty on these forums. Disappointingly 'trail and error' is the way to get past these issues along with finding someone in you area who has managed to circumnavigate the idiosyncrasies of bureaucratic culture build on uncertain interpretation of the regulations.

Immigration officer complaining about my visa exemption
Erm.... entitled hyperbolae much ??? The biggest part of Immigrations work load is dealing with migrant labourers not 'pampered expats' !!!!

Immigration officer complaining about my visa exemption
In a very similar boat I saw this writing on the wall over a decade ago.... Early 30's so no retirement Visa option. Not married (at the time) so no Non-Imm Option. I ended up getting the LifeTime (at the time) Elite Membership that solved any potential issues with frequent in and out Trips. Op has a very clear option to go the retirement Visa route.

Marshall Stockwell 2 Bluetooth speaker
…if fake,. It may ‘make noise’… & even sound decent enough to pass ‘your’ muster… but it won’t be ‘perfect’… As others have mentioned, It could also be real & just didn’t pass cosmetic QC…. Not really easy to tell unless listening to a lossless track in a genuine item & yours alongside each other… If you’re happy with the sound vs what you paid then fair enough.
-
Job offer in the middle of nowhere - would you take it?
This just about says all we need to about the Op... he's likely going to struggle wherever he is.
-
Marshall Stockwell 2 Bluetooth speaker
Thats what people hope... and thats what they are being suckered into buying... Fake stuff and people believe they maybe getting something which didn't quite pass the QC because of a scratch !

Marshall Stockwell 2 Bluetooth speaker
Play something lossless from Tidal.... and you should be able to recognise the difference. IF you can't recognise the difference, does it even matter ? Sound quality is a lot like 'wine, coffee etc'.... If you are happy with fruit wine or 3 in 1 coffee then why bother with better stuff.... Its the same with this... It's obviously a fake at that price, but as you can't tell the difference it doesn't matter.

Lazada's imaginary sellers
Lots of discussions on CoD vs 'account' purchasing with Lazada and the like. Some people just can't get past 'paying up front' for something which may not be delivered even IF there is recourse.... Its just personal preference... a lot like the 'going cashless' discussions but people will take minor points to the extreme to justify their choices.

Woman discovers gauze left inside her after childbirth, hospital faces backlash
Wrong... its extremely relevant.. you use the word 'could' as in argued what 'could have happened'... 'could' is the wrong word... if left untreated infection and sepsis is something that 'would' have happened.... this is not a hypothetical situation, this the path of deterioration her condition would have taken without further treatment.
-
Woman discovers gauze left inside her after childbirth, hospital faces backlash
That is relevant, because it shows sloppy work and the next one may get the problems. Agreed.... high risk of sepsis... completely relevant to the thread. In fact 'given' the details in the report infection had set in and the onset of sepsis was very likely imminent.

How dependent are you on alcohol?
Interesting concept, but you’ve mixed up dependency & necessity.

A ray of hope for Aussie mum in a coma after life-threatening tumble in Thailand (video)
Lots of complaints about this insurance company here… lots of accusations of calling the company ‘scammers’… I’m inclined to agree. https://www.comparetravelinsurance.com.au/travel-insurance-companies/cover-more

How dependent are you on alcohol?
There's a missing option... - I drink when I want, either alone or socially, sometimes a lot, sometimes a little, at other times I go for weeks or months without. The reason I wanted to add that - on 'other threads' which involve a discussion of alcohol there is always a 'puritanical' group who simply cannot accept the middle ground between abstinence and destructive dependency... How dependent am I on booze... Truthfully I'd suggest very... I'm also very dependent on playing football 2-3 times per week, I'm very dependent on at least a couple of really enjoyable meals per week, I'm dependent on a couple of cups of coffee each morning... I'm quite dependent on a lot of things I enjoy..... BUT... IF you're talking 'addiction' and serious risk to heath compared to just 'enjoying something'... then thats different. If I had a choice, give up coffee or booze I'd say I'd give up booze... but that depends on the quality of coffee I can have !!!... oh hang on, that also depends on the quality of booze because there are some awesome single malts out there... and then there are some great wines... and some cracking craft beers... My head hurts... I think I'll have glass of wine and a nice rib-eye then.... ... so... Dependant much ?? quite likeley !!!! - I just can't be bothered to argue with the puritanical fools who fail to see the balanced middle ground with this stuff...

Man falls 4,000 feet to his death from Grand Canyon Skywalk
You sure? Perhaps the body recognizes what is about to occur and goes into immediate shut-down mode. I'm not so sure.... its a 90 second free fall from 18,000 feet to chute deployment altitude, which is approximately 5000 ft.... So thats about 90 seconds for 13,000 ft of free fall. .... So roughly 27 seconds of 'ponderane' as it has been described... I very much doubt the 'body goes into 'shut down' mode in anticipation of imminent death, however, some people may pass out due to a fear response (as shown on some video rides etc).

Agoda says Thailand needs better attractions in the post-Covid travel world
But... it has a degree of 'power' simply due to its market presence and as an 'expert' in the Global Tourism industry authorities would do well to listen to the 'experts'.... Completely agree with this..... Thailand already 'does' tourism well... It just needs to 'polish' what it does to and do a better job or courting, welcoming tourists and not ostracising tourists with dual pricing and making frequent public announcements and create policies with indicate an underlying thought that 'tourists are just a burden'..... The single biggest two show stoppers at the moment are the Costs of flights and costs of hotels in Key tourist areas.... Thailand does do well at Marketing itself as a 'foodie' destination and it most certainly is... not just Thai food, but decently priced excellent food from all over. Agreed.... Thailand has been crying out for improvements in these area's for decades.

Unpaid speeding fine
That's nothing to do with the positioning of the lights, it was 100% the fault of whoever illegally erected the signs. Agreed... Every election time simply pulling out of a side soi becomes more hazardous than usual as these large signes right at the junctions edge are positioned blocking visibility to on-coming traffic such that we have to edge out....... annoying as heck and I wanted to move a couple of them out of the way *(at the entrance to my moo-baan).... ... But, I recall reading in the news not too long ago that someone was actually 'charged' for damaging public property for defacing one of those signs.... so the optics of a foreigner pulling one down would see a good few 'hang-him-high then deport him' posts from the 'you're just a guest in this country' brigade !!!

first iphone... 12 or 13?
You will (should) be fine with any new phone and either / or a Wired (USB) or BlueTooth connection to your Car.... and then play your Spotify to either Apple Car Play or the Andriod version. The charging issue.... that may be a valid concern and it depends on the 'size' of the pad and where the charging coil is 'located' in the care in specific relation (position) to how you place down the phone, all of which are slightly varying 'size'.... Apple use something called MagSafe for this reason - the 'charing coil' magnetically locks in to place with the iPhone so that it is positioned perfectly to charge. Without this 'magnetic lock' (magnetic positioning) the phone may not be positioned correctly and may not charge. As with charging any phone in any car there is always an alternative which is simply to charge through the USB Port (or a 12 volt power outlet with a USB charger / adapter). Ultimately, whatever phone you have will connect via BlueTooth to any modern car (caveat - unless there is some software block I'm unaware of).
