  1. So you must live in the North West of Thailand? Is it the North East that is hot and dry ?
  2. Absolutely! But remember not everyone likes what we like . I love my Thai massages
  3. So the question is please be honest ....how many of you actually made the retirement to Thailand whether that be Pattaya or another place and ......ended up going back to your own country.... because of boredom OR it just wasn't what you imagined. I believe a few Aussie guys on here did. now I just watched a YouTuber who after one year retirement in Pattaya is going back to Europe as he is bored in his one year retirement in that one year he mentions everyday was the same ,he rented a studio in Central Pattaya , rose every morning, had his coffee on the balcony, went to the gym and the day became boring. It wasn't the excited lifestyle he thought it would be I was surprised there was nearly 100 comments from older guys who had taken retirement in Asia from Thailand to the Philippines and all said they were or had gone back to their home country , all said they got bored ,life was boring there in retirement a few mentioned "heat" and they were not used to it everyday ,others mentioned traffic and noise etc but the main was boredom it's not always about financial reasons ,as I said these guys are cashed up retirees going back to their countries after a year or so I think they in reality once retired miss their routine, and how many of you say 6 months into retirement living into Thailand actually have thoughts of regret ?
  4. I try to stay out of the Sun especially in skin cancer Australia The Sun in Australia is a hot burning sun almost like a blowtorch Even in Thailand my skin becomes red I prefer capsules but I'm not sure , someone actually told me we need sun
  5. Hardly needed a life sentence though ! There are thousands of Filipino housekeeping staff in Australia
  6. Omg 10 years ! I'm sorry to hear that , it obviously broke your marriage.
  7. Just reading some interesting facts today It seems Australians now rank higher as prisoners in Philippines jail's than Thai jail's But my question to you is have you ever been jailed in any Asian countries or visited anyone I went to Pattaya jail to visit a Thai guy before covid ,I had to shout through what looked like a large birdcage with everyone standing next to him I immediately asked to see the manager of the jail, this was like 2019 and I saw a farang in prisoner clothes mowing the lawn outside the jail Just reading a very very sad story today ,a Australian guy Troy Birthisel has been jailed for life in the Philippines today after only going there for a week holiday , only went for a week and he got life , not even drug related https://fundrazr.com/71BmI8?ref=ab_AIS3znnFEVGAIS3znnFEVG Sad and corrupt the Philippines it seems,it's now off my list
  8. 15000 a day of vitamin D???? Is that needed , I take 2000 a day
  9. I admit my 3 months stay at Arcadia recently was great though The managers one a young guy from Europe was a lovely guy , friendly They have lot of security guards so it's very safe I do like it , but there is only a family mart nearby and you have to walk up the hill to the main road to get a baht bus ,there is a big gay sauna nearby
  10. I was looking at buying in Arcadia resort ,good condo yearly fees of 13k Loved the very long swimming pool and gym But ....yes many families with screaming kids on holidays Xmas will be the busiest with screaming kids running around the pool I think if I was going to buy in Arcadia I wouldn't buy a condo overlooking the swimming pool I never saw police patrol as they have many security guards You can get the small studios for around 1 million baht if you try but small 1 bedroom I think 28sqm
  11. Mine in Australia for 3 months was practically the same and I thought that was expensive and rang them up ! Yours is ridiculous price !!!
  12. Long hours , That's America This is a country that doesn't pay its unemployment benefits forever ! I think 6 months ? In Australia we have young people unemployed for years because they get $300 a week on unemployment forever plus discount travel and free medical, why would anyone want to bother to find a job
  13. You may be able to find a farang in your Condo building who is retired that is available Whilst technically I guess it's illegal to work for money I'm sure there is fine who will do it for a bottle or two
  14. We should ask the Gen Z their opinions on that 😉
  15. Does anyone else here work with Gen Z ers? How are they in jobs etc I was speaking to a guy at work last night whose brother is a police officer and 22yo , he was telling me 25% of police in Australia (Gen Z) are on PTSD leave because they can't cope , Western Australia just recently employed 500 older experienced police from the UK because Gen Z Aussies couldn't do the job !!!!
  16. According to Gen Z ,you wasted your life !!! Did you make any tiktok videos of you at the desk?
  17. I would rather have my million dollars in my superannuation knowing I can be free anytime , I can walk out of my job anytime , the Gen Z can't with debts That's the benefit of being old , knowing you have passed that caring stage, Nope I wouldn't want to be young again !!!
  18. Getting laid is a success?
  19. Working with many Gen Z Gen Z would regard that statement as being sexually suggestive, they don't like guys perving at girls especially guys double or triple their age , everyone must be the same ,no gender , no labels and certainly no getting laid ,( without signed permission ) Gen Z look down on older guys going to Asia , won't let you know what they call them
  20. Gen Z are a self entitled generation growing up watching tiktok and influencers travelling the globe taking selfies in gym mirrors. They get depressed when they find out they have to go and do work , there are bills to be paid , And the best part , they actually have no social interaction skills with customers, all there friends are on Facebook
  21. As I get old my empathy for people has practically finished Too many times bitten , now I just don't care
  22. Loved that story , yes Gen Z are in for a rude shock in life !!
  23. So does anyone notice this with the Thai Gen Z? As I read one post on another forum claiming the bar girls of Gen Z are no longer care about customers, according to him
  24. This current Generation is apparently called Gen Z The question is ,is my assumption they're lazy right? I notice in my workplace that Gen Z always refuse any extra overtime shifts,it's always the old guys doing it ,secondly they seem to hate working weekends. The phone and taking selfies ,even as a hospital cleaner I saw a Gen Z taking a selfie of the floors he mopped , he told me he was putting it on Instagram. This all confirmed when I just read on another forum that bar girls in Soi 6 Pattaya ( Gen Z) were refusing customers, one wrote ," these generation of bar girls are not that interested in making money like the past generations" Is this true ,are they not interested in buying houses , working hard for the future like their grandparents?
  25. I think drugs like meth make them age very fast I could also tell those ex heroin user faces
