Denial of Aussie pension
georgegeorgia replied to Michael Howells's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
You seem to be very concerned about others taking from the government? You seem very naive to know what goes on in Government departments Good luck to 4myego !!! -
Yes they would have to do some training, and it will be jobs they won't like , nursing homes are desperate for staff but do you really want to change Mr Smith's colostomy bag first thing in the morning ? I know some pubs are desperate for Security staff on weekends and by Law must have , so I imagine even at 65 you would get at least one pub somewhere employing on a Friday night you just to abide by the law , whether you want to stand in a door or in event security up to you.... but.....I see it ....I see old guys working event security at football matches etc

Yes your right Maybe if you have a trade plumber or electrical but then the physical demands would be hard . class moving ladders ,carrying heavy equipment Professional Nurses will get jobs of course Aged care workers definitely but physical again washing people maybe your age and hard work low pay Disability support worker jobs I guess if you can work in that field with intellectual disability and have patience , dealing with that Doctors ,lawyers are ok will find work Bunnings ? Not sure of their policy Security guards Need a licence , casual work ,front desk in office , a lot take mature aged application especially the office front desk Bar work Work in pubs and clubs , need to know how to pour drinks Of course definitely pick up night club pub security but do you want to deal with drunks in your 60's ? I know the mount Druitt hotel is looking for staff on Friday nights Truck drivers , have a licence ,maybe forklift too , Bus drivers prefer mature age

Philippines ???????? is good ,don't base your opinions on a few bad cities , a lot of places such as Baguio ,Palawan , Duamegette etc are nice

Bus driver ....Get your bus licence ,I imagine bus drivers are in demand...think overtime , weekend penalty rates , do you get double time there in the UK on Sundays?? Security guard ...need a licence ,a week training to get one ,casual work and I think a lot of casual work around Uber ...you will need a car though

What night do you close the doors , open a packet of crisps or peanuts or whatever. And chill out and watch Netflix What's your relaxation day and what do you do . Do you eat all junk food that evening and smoke the wacky tobacky watching Netflix or sport Every Friday night even when I was in Pattaya I bought ice cream ,chocolate and salt & vinegar crisps and watched reruns of Columbo and Law & order lights turned out ,doors closed from the outside and Air condition on, laying on the lounge chilling out oblivious to the hustle & bustle outside in Pattaya What's your chill out night and whats your routine ? Do you have to be by yourself that day /night ?

You also sold and are living in a condo in jomtien What happens if you have to go back some day for treatment why did you do this ?
-
Go on admit it ! Who now has NO residence ,no house back in farangland where they came from Some of you sold up to come to Thailand, Philippines or wherever your based in Asia didn't you ! So whether you retired from Australia,UK ,USA or bloody Belgium you have nothing to go back to if <deleted>e hits the fan ! You sold it ,so if you get very sick ,if something happens like visa issues or legal matters or whatever you have nothing to go back to , your in the <deleted>e ! So unless your say over 75 you took a big risk in selling your house in farangland How many of you regret it ,admit it ,yes some if you wished you kept your house

Just looked at the Sydney bus driver vacancies and there is no age limit as long as you have a Bus licence and the Mount Druitt areas have weekend night shifts for anyone wanting just 2 night shift a week And one of the benefits reads in the advert that you will meet " some very interesting people" ????

Travelled by train last week out to western suburbs of Sydney with him and he is boasting " look at that free travel for me and you peasants still have to pay ! ????

I see Labor party has been in 18 months in power now in Australia Is there changes which has affected or benefit us as expats or better services I'm hoping ,I really am that this 2 year portability is quashed eventually, surely there will be a change somewhere I'm not getting political as I usually vote Liberal but I do like this current government and I'm putting faith into them
