  5. You can't go through life like this. You may need other company sometimes rather than avoiding everyone and sitting by yourself especially if you retire to say Pattaya Not everyone will bite for money so you can't avoid everyone just in case
  6. I was just watching a YouTube video on how many expats lose money by lending money to other expats , many they hadnt known long . Met them in a bar or even neighbours, meeting each other after a few weeks then apparently they bite ,asking you to lend them money because they are going through a tough time I only had that once in all my trips and funnily enough it was at the view Talay 2B condo building where I befriended a older expat and after a few weeks he tried to bite after asking questions over the few weeks about my financial situation George he said can I borrow 20,000 baht to pay my rent,I will get the pension on Thursday and pay you back but the landlord wants it today or he is kicking me out !!! The hardest thing was saying NO to20k especially as he was crying so I lent him 5k But his true colours he was still in view talay a few weeks later and didn't talk to me and avoided me I didn't get my 5k back My question to you is have you ever been "bitten " for loans of money ? And please may I only get answers regarding farang expats only ,not Thai people asking you !!! Is there expats you know who do this full time,? Bludging for money ? Do they pay you back ,I mean there must be genuine ones ,how do you say NO ? What if they are crying ?
  7. Well Pattaya is a lot cheaper than Phuket
  8. The last few days I have done a lot of walking as I gained a few kilos whilst Thailand eating the 99 baht big breakfast's etc Today I decided to eat healthy and cooked chicken But...half way through I developed a sweet tooth I craved chocolate 🍫 We have this brilliant app in Australia called Milkrun similar to Grab delivery where usually within 30 minutes they deliver "junk food" to you I got onto milkrun to arrange a delivery of Kit Kats, Snickers and Caramello bears out As soon as it arrives I ate the whole lot for my dinner I felt good The question is why did I crave it ?

  19. Very beautiful and interesting post One must ponder do "routines" become boring ?
  20. What are the toilets like there? I remember going to that Issaan Concert place last visit on third Rd with another farang and his GF The first thing I did was check the cleanliness of the toilets , I was disappointed and went to a staff member to ask for the manager Finally after 20 minutes I spoke to a Duty manager who arranged the cleaning The couple I went with left after I complained leaving me with the bill unfortunately I never even got to drink my sprite as I was trying to find who was in charge , meanwhile the couple I went with left !!
  21. They work in Thailand too? you've said this before, I have never seen an old expat stacking shelves at Foodland like you said ,the closest I saw was some old farang fixing machines at Tony's gym and a farang serving at Cheap Charlies Jomtien . Of course theres a few old guys on Grindr with services available. I think it's fantastic you work it gives you something to do and if your hard up more money Thankyou for your service Sir and contribution to the Community and giving back rather than taking
  22. And I bet you take full advantage of the free specs provided by myself as a taxpayer!!
  23. Maybe your a rich one who did nothing but "take" from the system during your working life which was probably on taxpayers expense ,cushy pen pusher who called in sick every Monday morning The other half who can't afford such luxurious life maybe on frozen pensions from the UK or on aussie old age pensioners living in Thailand on a fixed income
