  1. Legally, Immigration's legal complaint is more of a Civil complaint versus a Criminal complaint. In Thailand both can exist simultaneously. The criminal complaint could be alleged violation of the The Computer-Related Crime Act of 2017. Often invoked as an added charge in defamation cases, as many defamation charges were based on internet postings or comments. The CCA includes using computer systems to disseminate false information or engage in cyber bullying that can lead to significant harm and disruption. https://www.lexology.com/library/detail.aspx?g=2f7b4259-5f38-47f7-8464-d03f08227ee1 As a practical legal decision, better the accused resolve the defamation complaint to avoid pile on of criminal charges.
  2. "potential"? from "Temple of Preah Vihear (Cambodia v. Thailand)," The Court found that Thailand had indeed accepted the map (based on the work of a Mixed Delimitation Commission that showed the Temple on the Cambodian side of the boundary and concluded that the Temple was situated on Cambodian territory). It also held that Thailand was under an obligation to withdraw any military or police force stationed there and to restore to Cambodia any objects removed from the ruins since 1954. What has yet to unfold is Thailand to accept the Court ruling. There is really no purpose for Thailand to go back to ICJ, rather it seems to resort to a "you give, I take" diplomacy. Hardly respective of ASEAN membership.
  3. Why the US foreign policy should be not at an economic war with most nations in the world, especially it's allies. Instead of adding hundreds of billion dollars to national defence, a few hundred million dollars directed to international DIPLOMCY might better serve the US security. But a Golden Dome would be much more authoritarian and manly - MAGA style defense.
  4. And open the door to a outing an authoritarian regime and replaced with a democratic government?
  5. Shall we discuss the "curious error in judgement" of Trump's Department of Defense and Trump himself personally not using security-proof communications to the extent that the Five Eyes of security sharing has virtually locked the US out of its exchange of secret intelligence ? The US cannot take the high road to foreign security measures.
  6. What exactly is the consequence of a national bankruptcy? Ecuador has declared itself bankrupt 10 times, most times among sovereign nations. Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Chile, Costa Rica, Spain and Russia have declared bankruptcy nine times during the same period. Germany has suffered from bankruptcy 8 times, followed by the US 5 times, China and UK 4 times, and Japan twice. https://www.tbsnews.net/world/6-major-countries-went-bankrupt-recent-times-453426 Despite Turkey's lira plunging in value, high inflation, rising borrowing costs, and correspondingly rising loan defaults, it is not bankrupt. The country is not currently in a state of sovereign default where it cannot repay its debts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_economic_crisis_(2018–current) It appears that at least sovereignty continues that still empowers a nation to improve its economic credibility. Engage in foreign trade, sell national resources, attract foreign investment, etc. that constitute sovereign assets. The existence of a nation's sovereignty naturally, however, depends on its citizens, or perhaps a neighboring nation to force annexation through war.
  7. Isn't that part of the issue though, where is the border? The ICC and Cambodia say one place and Thailand says another. And according to Cambodia, Thailand has crossed that line.
  8. In exchange for what? Xi has been pragmatic about Myanmar's civil war with regards to both sides. With China's own internal economic challenges, and confliction with North Korea and Russia related to the Russia-Ukraine war it doesn't need to antagonize the Myanmar rebels.
  9. "The International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled in favour of Cambodia in 2013, mandating that Thailand withdraw troops from disputed areas, a decision Thailand did not recognise concerning the court's jurisdiction" (my bold) Thailand - the Hub of ASEAN Aggression?
  10. You don't need the Thai military for peaceful engagement. Hence the latter, aggression - so much simpler. And the Thai military can justify more foreign purchased military armaments and aircraft.
  11. Once I had Kasikorn Bank required 2 weeks in advance of my 1 year extension of O-A with CW Immigration. IO told me it's too old. I said "t was what it was." I have no authority to order KB on the date. IO accepted the statement.
  12. Nah, he will "volunteer" to fight Ukraine for Mother Russia.
  13. aka "any loss of sovereignty." A Thai military mantra, to even give an inch it seems to danger to the nation. This is the same mantra to failing to achieve peace with the Malay Muslim insurrection after decades.
  14. How about a photo with chief behind bars?
  15. Yes, it's called "Disappearance."
  16. No fine? Seems like that would be automatic. Factly that would not require adjudication. 500 baht per day to a maximum 20,000 baht.
  17. As Trump recently claimed that President Joe Biden had been assassinated in 2020 and substituted with a clone or robot, it would seem appropriate that the robot would use an autopen.
  18. As the 10-year LTR costs B 50,000, the lawyer's fee seems unreasonable.
  19. Many brains were drained by MAGA, now just cult zombies
  20. I don't think this deal could occur without Thailand government backing. Especially with Thailand's membership on the UN Human Rights Commission. On the other hand a junta-to-junta backed gas deal makes sense.
  21. Or TACO team still doesn't have a deal, just concepts, expectations and hopes. Remember that any US economic deal must be approved by the US Senate and foreign country legislation for it to be binding. Otherwise, all one gets are MOU's with no confirmed trade deal.
  22. Now Thailand is the Hub of Sex Worker Diversity.
