  1. Today it appears that funding will be directed within the next fiscal year to the RTN's next submarine and frigate that don't appear to have undergone "careful consideration." RTN 1 : Thais 0
  2. I doubt they voted for the PTP in the first place, more likely MFP
  3. Australia's sub orders are not off-the-shelf. US current Virginia nuclear missile attack subs in service now are the state of art. Australia's five sub order in part subsidized by the US will be built to the next tech level for delivery in 2030's. Then US, UK and Australia will be the only nations operating the Virginia class subs. Sorry Thailand.
  4. It seems that the way the RTN operates its ships, that frigate might become a submarine.
  5. Yes it was resolved. As I recall the buses went from China unexpectantly through Malaysia for some fittings before entering Thailand. But Thailand customs upon arrival in Thailand, impounded them because of "non-origin additions," and required a large customs duty tax to be paid by the Chinese supplier for the buses. As a consequence of the delay, Chinese exporter was not paid for the shipment. Long story short (months?), it was concluded that the tax was required from the Thai importer and not by the Chinese exporter. Upon payment, buses were paid for and released for service in Thailand.
  6. Which is why PTP joined the MFP progressive coalition to oppose antiquated conservative pro-military political supporters. NOT!
  7. Maybe only if the Srettha government has in fact implemented The Prevention and Suppression of Torture and Enforced Disappearance Act, 2022 that PM Prayut attempted to delay in 2023? Without it, who'll come forward to substantiate military corruption?
  8. And if permitted by Taiwan. As of April 4, 2024 "There have been no reports of Thais affected by the quake so far." https://www.thaipbsworld.com
  9. For a nation that wants to be the Hub of EV manufacturing in SE Asia, many more locations need charging stations than the EEC. "Number of EV charging locations in Thailand 2023, by provider" Published by Statista Research Department, Dec 19, 2023. As of September 2023, there were 2,222 charging locations in Thailand, with a total of 8,702 charging units. The leading provider was EV Station Pluz with 555 locations, followed by Energy Absolute with 538 locations and PEA Volta on the third spot providing 217 locations to recharge electric vehicles. Why so much focus on the EEC? Maybe because it was a project created by the Prayut military junta under its absolute powers and it might still have "sticky fingers" in the project?
  10. There are no actual metrics that would otherwise cause BoT to lower its policy rate during its April 10 meeting. 'If wishes were horses, beggars would ride."
  11. Let's look at that re-run: "Ruling Thai military finds self innocent in graft case" Nov. 2015 https://www.aa.com.tr/ "Internal review into $20 million statue park devoted to history of Thai monarchy finds no corruption by military officers" "There is no need for an investigation by the National Anti Corruption Commission" "ruling junta would not open the park's books for an audit, or disclose how much the park had cost."
  12. He could have checked the internet after arrival in Thailand, ie., after landing. Or airport information counter? Chinese embassy, etc.? His complaint seems disingenuous and perhaps deliberate for attention.
  13. Speed between two objects is relative, 3kmh vs 10kmh the latter can be considered "high speed." But there is also comparison of mass between the two colliding objects. The higher the speed the higher mass and thus, higher kinetic energy delivered to the slower object. Thus, apart from lack of helmets, the three on a motor bike might receive greater impact and injury than the Brit.
  14. Begin with your party's corruption. "Supreme Court bans 3 ex-Bhumjaithai MPs from politics for 10 years" Jan. 2024, https://www.nationthailand.com
  15. Time to give Phuket autonomy? "Phuket Aims To Become Autonomous Administration", By Thai Newsroom Reporters, Posted on November 19, 2023. "The tourist island province has been well-prepared to upgrade itself as an autonomous administration following suit of Bangkok and Pattaya. The city mayor said he is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin next January to put forward the island’s autonomy scheme." Now April 2024. With autonomy Phuket doesn't need a 'tourist court.'

  17. There are other fears. It appears that the RTM and the current pro-military political coalition are afraid of progressive voting youths and rely on conscription to control their political perspectives.
  18. When double standards are repeated, they become "standards."
  19. And those who don't read their policy coverage, restrictions and disallowances. Having to purchase Thai government health insurance for entry should pre-empt questions of applicability as the Thai government becomes the guarantee, however, may have exceptions such as injury in connection with commission of a crime.
  20. Thailand has been there and done it before. COVID insurance for foreigners in Thailand 90-day coverage to cost 2,500 to 14,000 baht. About $70-$380 at today's exchange rate. https://www.thaiembassy.com
  21. Please cite that law and whether Thailand is bound by it. International "laws" require a nation's ratification to accept responsibility and compliance with such "laws", ie., the Geneva Convention, UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, 1951 Refugee Convention.
  22. Given the size of the fire and its penetration to the deck, it's questionable that there was any fire prevention/fighting systems in the engine room. Also seems little to no fire suppression by the crew. Certainly no passenger safety procedures or escape equipment in the event of a fire. Operators and oversight government department should be questioned with prejudice.
  23. Samitivej Sukhumvit Hospital is also a possibility, ie., even if for a second opinion. Check their web site. Both Bumrungrad and Samitivej accept certain foreign medical insurances that substantially cut your out of pocket costs. For some foreign policies, 100% coverage for in-patient care.
