  1. The USD and Euro account for 74% of currency transactions as of June 2023. https://www.livemint.com Remember that the "R" in BRIC stands for Russia. How is that working out for the ruble as an international currency that has, with its war with Ukraine, become Rubble.
  2. Paid Thai non-Muslim mercenaries by Thai army's Internal Special Operations Center.
  3. Classic "handwriting on the wall." Shouldn't the current government have reacted months ago TO DO SOMETHING? But fear not as it appears parts of the current Thai government will continue on under new PM management.
  4. Very fortunate that the Thai government comes to the rescue as China itself faces limited domestic and foreign investment while experiencing lower demand for its exports (as does Thailand). Although I wonder how BOI can make such a financial commitment at a time when the Thai government is in caretaker status and is not allowed to make new budget commitments, ie., for FY 2024. Maybe the PTP coalition gave tacit pre-approval assuming it will form the new government before September 2023, but still there are laws.
  5. How about the 14.233895 million voters who voted for MFP who now have been disenfranchised? Would the Court like to hear their complaints directly and individually if it refuses to hear from their representatives such as MFP? Each MFP voter has legal standing before the court and deserves to be heard if not through their democratically designated representatives. In effect the Court has defamed these Thai voters and harmed the reputation of the nation.
  6. In theory yes but not in practice. In 2021 China, Japan and the USA were Thailand's top three importers/exporters.
  7. Only in Thailand which has become the Hub of Military Coups in ASEAN, Prawit is commended with distinguished service as Deputy PM and Mentor to the NCPO Junta Chief/PM Prayut who overthrew an elected government. That's called "Thai-styled democracy" as in "What you see isn't what you get."
  8. I think Trump is confusing "exoneration " with "execution."
  9. I think Trump is playing Tic Tac No .
  10. Also on November 21, 2020 Georgia's GOP governor and top GOP officials certified that Biden won the state's 16 presidential electoral votes for POTUS!
  11. I guess the rider can't be accused of pandering.
  12. The hospital had no expectation that she might still be in danger for consequence of brain injury? Are 'talking and walking' the the best medical indications for wellness following a coma and brain injury?
  13. "The link for Prawit and Thaksin to forge a new govt?" Not a link but a paper clip.
  14. Remember this? The Supreme Administrative and Constitutional Courts' removed caretaker PM Yingluck and nine of her cabinet ministers in May 2014 for "illegally" transferring Thawil Pliensri of the National Security Council because she had not (according to the Courts) given "appropriate reasons" for his transfer to the Office of the PM as an advisor. Thawil was replaced by Yingluck's elder brother who was approved by her cabinet ministers. I guess different rules for different PM's? P.S. the decapitation of Yingluck's government opened the way for Gen. Prayut to overthrow the government shortly thereafter.
  15. Regardless, it is the party's "Whip" (albeit not prescribed in the Constitution or rules of parliamentary proceedings) that controls the vote of other members in their party and continues with other parties to carry out the parliamentary performance smoothly. https://library.parliament.go.th
  16. "Pheu Thai confident selection of prime minister will be done in one"....closet.
  17. When has the EC ever been charged for malfeansance? When PM YIngluck absolved the House in 2013 to trigger a new election that was required constitutionally within 60 days, the EC said it couldn't be done. When NCPO cancelled the 2014 election redo and suspended further elections for four years, the EC stood silent and only for the grace of the NCPO extend their terms and continued to be fully staffed. It's more likely that EC will drop the referral as it relieves the Constitutional Court of making any legal opinion. EC can go back to its original pre-election examination that held Pita to be an eligible candidate.
  18. Mine is 123456. You see it everywhere!
  19. The Prayut government agreed originally to 100% financing by China at an interest rate higher than the then Thailand Sovereign Bond rate, likely because for potential default (NCPO rejected under Article 44 any economic feasibility study required by law). So if the TSB rate increases (ie., due to collapse in attracting capital), it seems to me that China's financial advantage is neutralized or somewhat weakened. But ... In January 2021 Thailand and China renewed a baht-yuan currency swap for the exchange of local currencies up to 370 billion baht over five years starting December 2020. That results in $1 USD = 30.06 baht. https://www.reuters.com With 35 baht = $1 USD Thailand gains the advantage, if say at least for one quarter. And that assumes the HS system will be profitable enough to cover loan debt payments. China now discovers that within China its HS rail system with minimal/no cargo will default because rates are not completely elastic to passenger personal fixed incomes. A phenonemum experienced by the Thai government with BTS contract rates. And Thailand criminalized gambling!
  20. MFP's constitutional duty is to vote and be true to the MFP political platform for which it stands. Abstaining shows undeserved good faith towards PTP.
  21. Same positive experience in the USA having both Thai DL and IDL, no US state DL. Had IDL that might be necessary to take a USA rental car into Canada, but remained in the USA. Various car rental concerns seemed more focused on valid credit card and insurance coverage that I bought from each rental agency.
  22. The reality is that every bottle/can of beer, soda, water sold to the public typically contains in effect an ad through its label. So if simple display by a consumer of such label in public constitutes commercial promotion, then a responsible government must demand such labels to be unreadable as with cigarettes sold in Thailand. Of course, if the DHS is PAID to display such labels in public (ie., on social media), then that should be a political conflict of interest.
  23. How can this happen without approval from Parliament? This regulation by the current caretaker government effectively reduces the government budget for this subsidy. I understood that a caretaker government cannot alter existing Parliament approved budgets and this new regulation lowers the government's spending for the yet to be passed by Parliament the government's FY 2024 budget (Oct. 2023-Sept. 2024).
