"put the country first" What I'd expect from an authoritarian regime such as China but not from a democratic regime that puts the People first wherein "Sovereign power belongs" to the people. PM Prayut, please read your Constitution, Chapter I, Section 3: "Sovereign power belongs to the Thai people." Or do you deny through supporting military coups to overturn the power of the Thai people in violation of the Constitutions?

Double times nothing equals no vaccination. When Moderna was first offered by some private hospitals in June payable in advance, covid-19 and delta variant infection/deaths was "nominal." Delivery date was projected as late October for 1st jab, 28 days later for 2nd jab. But quickly numerous covid-19 and Delta variant hot spots appeared and seemed unmitigatable by August. If you fall into the many covid-19 vulnerable groups, placing your life and health on timely Moderna delivery by the current government versus immediate available effective vaccines such as AZ and Pfizer (even with just the 1st jab) would not only be a foolish gamble but life-threatening. It's not 'brave' to wait for Moderna. The government should prioritize Moderna as a booster following 2 previous different vaccination brands, ie., 6-8 months and continuing what appears to effectively rolling out the interim vaccines to further national strengthen herd immunity. I believe the government has begun using now Moderna as booster for medical workers - so not far fetched.

Locals hit out at Miami inspired beautification of Pattaya
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
In a broader picture, the removal and replacement with palms is counter-productive with regard to climate change. Case in point is Miami Beach! Miami Beach has a new plan that shifts the balance of tree cover from palms towards shade-giving species that offer relief from climate change. Specifically, the resulting tree canopy is more resilient to sea-level rise, saltwater intrusion and rising temperatures. https://www.treehugger.com/miami-beach-to-swap-out-palm-trees-5116506 So Pattaya's plan is backwards. It should be adding more durable shade trees and replacing existing distressed/dying trees with more durable trees for climate change and better beach-goer comfort and safety. -
I believe under Thai law, government officials can have only one government "salary" but may receive "compensation" from multiple sources, both government and private industry. As the Thai Military owns/operates government/private enterprises and natural resources, active duty and retired officers might get enterprise "dividend distributions." Thailand seems very lax when it comes to government officials having financial conflicts of interest.

Applied directly with Bumrungrad August 3rd for Pfizer; no reply until 3rd week saying they're still checking my vaccination record. Then got unsolicited sms offer from BHN hospital August 16 for 1st of two jabs of free Pfizer, now scheduled September for 2nd jab having 1st jab Then this Tuesday get sms from Bumrungrad for 2 jabs Moderna to be prepaid for 3200THB. No Pfizer then? You know the saying: "A bird in hand is worth more than two birds in the bush." Or in this case 'jabs.'

Police summoning parents of protesters who violated the law

"allowing their children to commit wrongdoing" They have been arrested but not prosecuted and convicted except by the police. So make that alleged wrongdoing. That would be consistent with Thailand's alleged judicial system. -

Would it be too hard not to simply state that? I still have my original O-A visa in a prior passport but hoped the extension stamp was what was needed.

My Expatvac update. Used it to register for Pfizer and also registered directly with Bumrungrad Hospital (who has my medical records) who was to have Pfizer. Received confirmation of registration from both but no appointments. After 2 weeks BH followed with email explaining reason for delay - it needed to confirm through Mor Pom (?) that I didn't already have a Covid-19 vaccination. Then 8/16 get an appointment for 8/17 from BHN Hospital via sms for 1st Pfizer jab and referenced Intervac as source of my registration ???? Never registered with Intervac. Never registered directly with BHN. Today 8/17 got my 1st Pfizer jab at BHN and next appointment on 9/6 for 2nd jab. Did BH transfer my registration to BHN or what? Since the vaccine was the same, no matter. Just very odd.

Airlines will have to write-off 2021 without government support
Srikcir replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
When the government has repeatedly capitalized a Thai airlines which it held a majority stake in despite a decade of losses, why shouldn't it also support local airlines?
