  1. Its always been an option but lately it appears everyone must have a residential condo for their 2 week stay. And I am trying to understand why. Bangkok, Pattaya, Phuket all have 1,000s of great cheap hotels, purpose built for holidays. They have all the facilities, the staff, the amenities. Yet, people want to stay in a residential condo block, where nobody daily cleans your room, nobody does fresh linen and towels, you often have to pay the utilities on top, you are disturbing the actual residents, there is usually no reception or office (thats for the owners), the owner wont be doing immigration reports, and its basically illegal. It appears to be an epidemic nowadays on tourist and newbie forums , its all they talk about. I dont get it.
  2. Have you not been out lately ? the shops are everywhere.
  3. For some things a DL works as proof of address, important things its usually a resident certificate from immigration, or (in theory) yellowbook/pink ID
  4. I did my car tax and por lor bor last week , there is nothing to sign or ID required, you dont even need to visit the DLT. Why do you think you need a POA ?
  5. I agree, have been looking into flights for a trip back home to Australia. either non existent, really expensive, or via somewhere for a 6 hour stopover.
  6. Not sure where you get this from, dell didnt have anything to do with creating/developing operating systems or windows, or early laser printers. Dell sells hardware, and always has. I think you may be confusing dell with xerox
  7. The same applies for anything that a passport has been used for, a new passport and you need to run around updating banks, license, contracts etc. And you cant use a PP to update or prove your address
  8. Last time I looked, a passport doesnt contain your address and cant be used as such
  9. OP, Its quiet common, in shops like powerbuy, for cheaper laptops to ship without windows. It keeps the ticket price down. They will have Linux. There is usually an option for bogus windows or legit windows for extra.
  10. People are asking your country of origin because its relevant, Thailand has tax treaties with several countries. Those treaties effect how income, gains etc are taxed. Thailand doesn't usually tax worldwide assets, or income. The taxing of any asset would firstly happen in the country its sold in, or the country where the funds are deposited. Why would you want to inform Thailand of assets you hold outside of Thailand, its none of their interest or business. Choosing a country to be taxed in isn't a condition of a retirement visa.
  11. Condos are individually owned, separate title, separate elec meter, an apartment is where one person owns the whole building and has split it up individual apartments, the elec meters are privately owned, the owner gets a single bill from mea/pea, and bills the apartments
  12. People usually use a lawyer to setup the company, not a Thai business man, whatever that means. You need to decide who will be the other 2 owners of the company, the other 51%.
  13. Local Ampher will issue the card but it wont be a blue Thai ID, it will be a Pink non-Thai ID card. PR gets the same ID card as expats, migrant workers, stateless etc.
  14. Maybe I am a bit slow, but what is the owner selling ? The burnt out shell of what was once a pub/nightclub. And the op show a photo of a not burnt out, completely different property. Also, not sure that selling will have any effect on the jobs of 60 people, they already don't have a job.

    Bum guns

So long as you are not getting one from Mr DIY, and spending more than 200-300 baht, they all work fine. An Hafele one from homepro will set you back 500 baht, quality German engineering.
  16. I recall a couple of years ago when we first applied for an Australian Visa for my wife. Wife had a very persistent caller on her phone, that she didn't answer (using the "not in my contacts" logic). 2 days later we got an email denying the Visa, and one of the reasons was "un contactable" As others have said, there are legitimate calls everyday, delivery people etc
  17. Fiji is +679, there is no +697 country code
  18. Its all good not to answer these calls, but what if its the CEO of a Nigerian petroleum company, trying to get funds out of the country to share with you. I would hate to think I missed such an opportunity
  19. I print two photos to an A4 page, inkjet printer, normal paper etc. that's at Jomtien, others may want actual photos
  20. I used the same photos last 3 years in a row at Jomtien, I would have used them again this year except I moved house. I dont know how they would even be aware its the same photos, its not like they have last years photos to hand, I imagine last year documents are in an archive somewhere.
  21. There are 2 homepro stores in Pattaya, and neither of them have an upstairs, or 25 complete bathrooms. Maybe you are confusing another location.
  22. OP, most of the banks have chat via their banking apps nowadays. Have you tried similar with ANZ ?
  23. The thing I don't get about these ladyboy discussion, is the "you must be gay" if you like ladyboys comments. Ask any gay man, They are not attracted to females, or anyone presenting as a female. For most straight men, anal sex is the holy grail with their female partners, and a BJ from someone who is familiar with the equipment, cant be a bad thing. I'm not pro or anti ladyboys or relationships with them, but certainly wouldn't put it in the "must be gay" category.
  24. OP, none of the banks have facilities/options to open accounts online, any agent assisted opening accounts will still require your physical presence at the bank, they accompany you to the bank.
  25. Its nothing to do with Pattaya police, the fire was in Sattahip
