  1. To clarify for others, I believe you mean that's for a single re-entry permit (mine, as stated, was for a multiple re-entry permit.) One thousand thb for the permit and 200 thb "fee" so that you don't have to fill out the paperwork or bring a photo.
  2. I admire the uncharacteristic restraint of the 78 AN members who viewed this story before I did.
  3. 1. It's co-located next to the outbound immigration lines on the right. So, you obtain it prior to going through outbound immigration. 2. TM8, copy of passport pages (front page with bio info, latest entry stamp, latest permission to stay), copy of latest 90 day report, copy of TM30, passport photo (4x6 cm). 3. I paid the fee for obtaining a multiple re-entry permit, which is 3800 thb. There was no "additional" charge, if that's what you're asking.
  4. Food: One plate of pad thai gai, street vendor = 50 thb. Drink: 10 large Leos + 15 bargirl drinks = 4,044 thb. Total: 4,094 thb.
  5. You don't need to leave for 180 days consecutively. The 180 days is a cumulative total for the year, e.g., you could stay for 90 days, leave for 60 days, stay for another 45 days, leave for 65 days, etc. As long as the additive effect/value of your time spent in Thailand over the course of the year is less than 180 days, you'd not be considered a Thai tax resident.
  6. Well, yeah....when you say it like that, it sounds bad.
  7. "Srettha Thavisin, the 60-year-old real estate tycoon endorsed by the Thai king after winning enough parliamentary support to become prime minister, has no experience in government and is not an elected MP." https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/aug/23/srettha-thavisin-the-real-estate-tycoon-turned-thai-prime-minister
  8. If you are in Thailand for less than 180 days per year, you are not classified as a Thai tax resident for that year. The type of visa that you hold isn't particularly relevant (unless you decide to obtain an LTR visa.)
  9. Okay but.....Hanoi's airport is the best? Better than Singapore? Hardly.
  10. Final update: Within 15 minutes of sending my credit union's tracing number for the ACH transaction to WISE via email, WISE rep responded that '......I can see your money has already reached us.' Transfer is back on track and will be paid out today, a week after I initiated the transfer. I was "guaranteed" an exchange rate of 35.88 and the rate has dropped since I initiated the transfer (today it's 35.62). I don't know if WISE was slow-rolling my transaction because of that (I'd like to think not) or if it simply got "lost in the shuffle" (again, I'd like to think not.) Whatever the case, it's unsatisfactory service that appears to have been resolved, though I remain unconvinced that WISE was being entirely truthful when claiming they had not received the money.
  11. Another email from WISE: To help us locate your money, please send us a new proof of payment that shows: Sender’s full name as the account holder Sender’s bank account details Recipient’s bank details Payment date Amount and currency sent Reference used The sender’s bank should be able to provide a PDF that shows this info. But if not, you can also send us an online banking screenshot. Seriously? WTAF? I do this monthly, same process.
  12. Partial excerpt from WISE email response: "......Please be informed that if you're paying for transfer using ACH direct debit, it usually takes up to 4 working days for your money to reach us. You’ll see the debit in your bank account within 2-3 working days of making the transfer. However, since the money has been debited from your account, we're still waiting for your money to reach us." This is patently false. I may need to find a new way to move money over.
  13. Doubtful but I've requested the transaction reference number so I can provide it to WISE when I call them.
  14. I initiated the transfer - as I always do - by logging onto WISE and creating a pull from my bank account. That happened within 24 hours, as it normally does. This month's procedure was no different than any other.....except WISE is holding the money instead of sending to BBL.
  15. The transfer in the OP was for 67,000 THB and change. It normally takes one business day from the time I send until receipt in my Bangkok Bank account. The crazy thing is I can't even cancel the transaction since WISE says they haven't received the money yet.....though it's clearly been sent via ACH from my credit union to WISE several days ago. Guess I'll have to try to call them when they open again....ugh.
  16. I initiated a transfer on 29 Feb from a US account. Initially, WISE told me that it would arrive the next day.....but after sending, they amended that to 6 March. The money was withdrawn from my account on 1 March, the day after it was sent. Now, the WISE app is stating that WISE still hasn't received my money so it's going to take a few more days. Is this just a "me" problem or is WISE experiencing some sort of system-wide difficulty? (I'm wondering if the leap day might be a factor here in confusing their automated system.)
  17. You need to be back in Thailand in time to do your annual renewal of permission to stay. Aside from that, stay away all you want.
  18. This just happened to me. I set up a transfer from a US credit union account on Thursday - WISE said it should arrive by Friday. When I went to press "go", WISE suddenly informed me it would take until Wednesday, 6 March (unless I wanted to pay more to send via debit card or SWIFT transfer.)
  19. "Works well to get rid of ladyboys too", @Big Nok, probably.
  20. Slightly off-topic but tangentially related.... I obtained a multiple re-entry permit an hour ago at CNX (after passing through security.) Desk is now located right next to the departures immigration lines (right hand side.) Since I had already made copies, filled out the TM8, etc., the entire process took less than five minutes.
