    Really not sure what you are on about here? I can't recall ever mentioning insurance for the DTV ? Maybe you are directing that to the wrong user? Which part of "only" do you not understand, you said the OA and OX were the ONLY long stay visas, clearly they are not. (And as you are aware, neither of those is associated with marriage either).

    Sorry, I must have got confused when you said "Only the Non Imm O-A or O-X visas are sometimes referred to as the long stay visa", no mention of the only Non-imm visas nor anything to do with marriage. (But nice try at backpeddling) 🙂

    OK, having just read the whole post, I can guess why the change was denied, (and it ain't because of a change in the rules). The gent got his extension at Chamchuri (BOI), but tried to change it at CW, that is the most likely reason for his denial, not a change in the rules. That's my take on it anyway.

    Your memory serves you badly, a background check is required for a Non-OA (which is for retirement) , not a Non-O for marriage Also, of course there is a marriage visa, what do you think the Non-O based on marriage is? Also, also, you do not extend your Non-O based on marriage, that is done and dusted, you extend your permission of stay based on being married to a Thai national. Apart from that, well done 🙂
